Is it possible for me to get an android update? my phone is rooted and at the moment holds this information
Model number - GT - I9100p
Android version - 2,3,4
Baseband version I900PBVK12
Kernel Version is 2.6.35.7 - I9100XXKI3-CL577579 [email protected] #2
Build number is - GINGERBREAD.BVKI3
can someone help me with what rom i would need etc to upgrade etc

Don't see there any for 9100P.
vinspire, are you sure about the model? Also do you have UK Vodafone SIM?

yes I am sure about the model, it is not vodafone it is a rooted unlocked orange with giff gaff sim card
I copied all the details from my phone so i am very sure Thanks for trying to help though, will wait for someone else to point me in the right direction, here they helped me unroot my phone etc andi just want the update now

After I flash New Updates or Custom ROM it keeps changing. so that i raised the question here.

The shipped Modem with the firmware version JPKJ2 for SGS2, for all the middle east countries is XWKI4
I have tested XWKE7 also which gives more speed on data than KI4
XWLPB is the latest one released with with the firmware for Bahrain, you can test this one too

i got this phoen few weeks ago and i started to play with it and then i update using there update region canada . i got this phone from the usa and it was unbranded and now when i try to go to cwm it does not show me that it shows me Andriol system Recovery (3e) and i get restore.
i thinink that samsoung update the wrong firmware and now i dont know which one to use to restore it back
on the kernal it shoes me 3.0.15
and my baseband version is ublf2
and build number is ubalf3

i haved try that and it still show me this weird one not cwm
i think i just have to do a new firmware but i am not sure which one to use i got this phone from newegg but and update the firmware and now it shows me base band version blf2
and build number balf3
the phone works but it just dont want to go that cwm menu
i have try to install a new kernel but it was done and restart and nothing shows
it just shows 3.0.15
if i update the kernal to SiyahKernel S3 ?

siyah kernal updates your kernal not the recovery
go to samfirmware.com
and find the firmware of ur liking and download
first try flashing this... make sure its i9300 not i9300t

hello xdapeople,
i have a samsung galaxy s2 running gingerbread 2.3.3 and ...
1) i'm rooted and the build number is GINGERBREAD.XWKF3
2) Kernel version is 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555 [email protected] #2
3) Baseband version is I9100DDKE4
now i want to upgrade to ics firmware BUT...
i CANNOT get OTA updates and KIES says my device "doesnt support" upgrading via it. The only option left now if doing it via the "Odin" software method... and i NEED TO KNOW what firmware am i supposed to download and what am i supposed to do because there is stuff like "I9100XXLPQ" and many other equivalents ... but i dunno if i should download that and do the update ... is there any "I9100DDKE4" or "KF3 (XXX)" [shows on KIES beside "CSC"] available ?
nothing seems to workout for me.....can you please lemme know step wise how am i supposed to go about this...?

You can go to www.sammobile.com and download a stock firmware and flash through Odin, or you can root and gain access to all of the custom roms.

PS - i dont use the phone to CALL/TEXT, i mean i dont use any carrier etc ... just use it for multimedia purposes ..

i've a galaxy s2 with 2.x.x it was unlocked...i've installed the 4.0.4 update now it's locked...i've tried galaxy s unlock and other apps but it doesn't work..it always asks for a code to unlock...the phone has the orange logo on the back...i assume it's locked to orange ...i thought it was factory unlocked...now, is there a solution? or do i have to reinstall the 2.x rom? will this work ?(does galaxy s unlock work on this fw?) and which rom do i have to install?

How u installed the update?
Throught Odin, right... So u used a "orange"based firmware...
So just search for a "normal" one (f.ex. here) and flash it in same way...
That should fix ur problem

Choose which version u want...
I would recommend to use the latest one of 4.0.4 u can find.
The 4.1 is already Jelly Bean but not as stable as the other ones....
I saw it's now with actual firmwares....
So load the firmwares from sammobile
(Search =i9100 then u got a list, sort by date)

and the phone has the orange logo on back...after installing this rom i think the phone is locked!! and even if i use galaxy s unlock it doesn't work
but why the phone was working on the 2.x firmware? was it unlocked with galaxy s unlock? does galaxy s unlock work only on old Firmwares?
and now what's the solution? is there a custom rom to install? something to do after installing the rom? or do i have to reinstall 2.x and unlock it with galaxy s unlock? will this work?
First get a micro sd card. Plug it into your computer and download a stable rom into the micro sd. Make sure you leave it as a zip file. Go to your phone's recovery and select the new rom.

which rom? i don't think it's a rom problem :/
Well if you flash a fresh stable rom, it will reset your unlocks

I having the same problem but I'm on 4.1 and phone was unlocked. Installing other rom does not help. I have try various roms buy no luck

installed 2.2.3..phone still locked!!! even galaxy s unlock wont unlock it :///
See if Spockys Galaxsim unlock works.I cant be arsed checking if it wirks on gb or ics or what,but you can.
Its only O2 phones or unbranded ones that are unlocked by default.

This has become a huge problem for me too.
I've used the i9100 for a year. At the beginning unlocked it, and tried hundreds of ROMS (CM,MIUI...), and never had a problem with Network Lock.
Before selling it(ebay), I updated it to 4.0.4(unbranded) and send it. BAM! The buyer told me it had a Simlock... Uh :silly:??? I told him not to worry, and bought an IMEI Unlock code for him. He said didn't work, I couldn't believe it, but it is so.
Now I have again my SGS2 here, with the symptoms:
- Compilation LPW
- Network Locked
- Galaxy_S Unlock by Helroz does not work.
- Chainfire's method finds the same Unlock Code that I bought for 9€. But they don't work!:crying:
I will flash a 4.0.3 ROM and see what I can do.

hi i need some help i want to return my phone to factory settings ive been on sammobile.com and i cant figure out what firmware i need when i put in *#1234# the ap cp and csc i get are from my firware that i have now on my phone is there any way to find out what firmeware i need over the imei nr or some other way?

no the problem is i dont remeber if there was any branding on my phone so i dont know if i should download a firmeware with branding or without

Hi:
What brand of phone do you have? Do you have the original box and papers that came with the phone? Really you should always know this information BEFORE you even touch anything on your phone and always make and keep a record of it. The original Samsung phone box should have the specific numbers you are looking for, this would be a good starting place. Another thing you should have done before modding your firmware would have been to go to settings>about phone to find and keep a record of the Model number, version number etc.Then you could have compared those identifers with files found in Sam Mobile and come up with the Stock ROM. Do you know what country the phone's firmware was meant to be used in? You'll need to provide more specific information so that others could be more helpful to you.

Same here i dont know if your phone was branded or not .
Why not download one of each .
Or find exact same supplier of the phone that you bought from .
IMEI does not indicate branding though it may give a clue as to the phone vendor .

The latest original Vodafone Germany rom I9300XXEMR2 is here http://www.hotfile.com/dl/193095133/14cd312/I9300XXEMR2_I9300VFREMA3_VD2.zip.html. To verify go into a Vodafone store and check the firmware info. Flash with Odin.
