Hello everyone.
I am just trying to flash my Xperia Mini Pro to CM7.
But when I am trying to send the "boot.img" it seems to get stuck.
this is my sonsole output:
Code:
E:\Programme\AndroidSDK\platform-tools>.\fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (5272 KB)...
this already stayed for about 30min.
is it normal that it takes so long?
if not, what do I have to do to fix it?
Thanks,
McFarlane
It's just take around 2sec to flash.
Try flashing boot.img using flashtool

I followed the instructions of the wiki. Can I verify somehow that it is unlocked?
(I've just installed this flashtool. But how to flash with it? )
My guess is u havent unlock the bootloader yet.
Heres a good tool to do it the official way, which might void your warranty if u choose to do so.

Then u already have unlock bootloader. Try to reflash the kernel again.
Btw did u enter fastboot mode when u try to flash earlier?
Led should be blue in fastboot mode.

Yes, the LED was Blue When i connected it to my pc.
what do you mean by "reflash the kernel"?
i tried flashing the boot.img at least ten times and it got stuck every time.
Try with the bootloader unlock tool. It can flash kernel too.
just try flash it with an0nym0us_ said before

reflash your stock rom with Xperia Flashtool and try again. You can also try a different usb cable or computer also is the fastboot driver installed ? take a look under device manager.

I installed the fastboot driver during the flashtool installation.
The Device Manager shows it as Android ADB Device.
Also, to flash the Xperia in Flashtools, it excpects from me to hold down the back button while plugging in the cable.
Which is not possible because it is a touch button. So noothing happens -.-

Volume down button works for flash mode. But it fails with errors:
08/041/2012 23:41:42 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed"
I never excpected this update to be so difficult...
I've updated my old G1 to CM once and it took me 1h with reformatting the SD card using a HEX editor -.-
What is this miniCM7?
According to the description it is available for X8, X10 and X10 mini pro. So it won't work on my device either?

flashtool support all 2011 device
check release note for detail
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
I tried to follow the how to of the Cyanogenmod Wiki for my phone.
But flashing using their instructions doesn't work and anything the flashtool can do is not working either.
Its either failing or gets stuck without any response.
I am now downloading and trying the CM7 you have linked in your post.
Maybe this one will work...
Thats what I did now:
I downloaded the file you linked and extracted the boot.img
Then I connected my phone in Fastboot mode and tried to flash the kernel using the Flashtool - Fastboot Toolbox via the button "Select kernel to Flash".
Log output shows now: "09/016/2012 00:16:51 - INFO - Flashing selected kernel"
After that, nothing happens.
What do I do now?

I have sony ericsson neo v on 4.0.4 build 4.1.b.0.431 with unlocked bootloader (by official method), rooted, and CWM installed by X-part. I believe the cause is that I did not format /system (in mounts and storage), format /cache, and format /Data.
I am unable to access CWM. Could anyone able to access CWM and then re-flash the Pureness by CWM, or I have to flash with FlashTool to install the original Stock ICS. Then start all over again??!!
I have not done any FlashTool before. Any guideline??
Many thanks!!!
Did you first install the kernel as advised?
If not, then flash the kernel through fastboot and then boot into CWM.
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using Tapatalk 2
I actually flash the follow the installation as follow but apparently omit step 4-6 below:
1.Factory reset in cwm
2.wipe cache partition
3.wipe dalvik cache
4.Format /system (in mounts and storage)
5.Format /cache
6.Format /Data
7.Install Xperia_Ice_Cream_Pureness_build_10.00.zip
8.Install patch for your phone model
9.Reboot now and you are done !
I did not 'first install the kernal as advised'??
Is this a fix, and could you tell me more how exactly fastboot and flash the kernal as you suggest??
Thanks!!!

Flash alliance kernel via fastboot...after that you'll be able to access cwm( To get into fastboot turn off your phone and plug in the usb while holding the menu key,led will turn blue... In the folder where fast boot is present in your pc hold shift key and press the right button & open cmd, then enter fastboot flash boot boot.img)"boot.img will be the name of the img file you're about to flash"
Or
You can enter into cwm by using the app called x parts, but you'll be unable to get into cwm by pressing the volume down key

Few more queries to clarify:
1. '......In the folder where fast boot is present in your pc hold': pc stands for PC Companion??
2. Do I need to download boot.img?? If so, please forward me the link??
3. After flashing the boot.img, is it just lead to fixing the CWM??
4. After fixing the CWM, should I simply follow the steps again on flashing the Pureness ROM, or I must flash the 'alliance kernel' first??
5. Please forward me the link for 'alliance kernel'.
Many thanks!!!
As for your questions,
1. PC here means your computer.. And the folder means that folder where you have kept your fastboot files!
2 & 5. Here's the link of the alliance kernel that you need to flash..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566871
Copy this .img kernel into the fastboot folder, and rename it to boot.img
Holding the shift key, right click and you get an option to open the command window..
In fastboot mode, holding the menu key while inserting the usb cable.. Type the following in the cmd..
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now turn your phone on.. Boot into CWM by pressing the volume down button.. Install the ROM from CWM!

Fastboot refers to unlocked bootloader as root.
Have you unlocked your bootloader?
You will know if you have done it! If you are unsure then you have not unlocked it, therefore, you cannot flash custom kernels so you need to either:
1. Use custom roms that are for LOCKED bootloader, or
2. Unlock your bootloader. To do this check the sticky threads in the DEV section

You cannot conect in fastboot with a locked bootloader.
Also, it seems daft that you are using 2 threads to discuss this problem.
My final bit of advice.
Download flashtool (its in the sticky threads in the dev section)
Download a stock .ftf (Found in the sticky threads in the dev section)
Flash the .ftf using flashtool when connected in flash mode (Not fastboot mode) You enter flashmode by pressing back button, not the enu button when connecting.
Once you have done that the phone should boot up with stock rom. Then you can use flashtool to install a recovery and install the pureness rom properly.

Download (Dont worry its for neo v, it doesnt matter, its just stockrom to get you going)
Place in firmware folder of flashtool.
Open flashtool
press flash icon
choose the file in the link
Turn off phone
Press back button and keep pressed then attach usb cable.
Flashtool will recognise your phone
let go of back button
wait untill flashtool finishes
disconnect and turn on phone.
First boot may take a while.
Goto settings and allow unknown sources and usb debugging.
Then use flash tool to root, install recovery and then you can install pureness via CMW making sure you follow every step in the guide, including all the wipes.
Hi there!
So I got my girlfriends XU in my hands. By default Gingerbread was on it, and as the instructions said I've flashed it with flashtool to ICS and thought about I will flash a custom rom BUT: I dont have and fastboot (sound funny but listen
- When I first flashed ICS to GB, there WAS fastboot on the device, beacuse I've put to fastboot to flash the ICS.
- I have an Xperia Go, and when I try to enter into fastboot everything goes okay, and flashtool says Device connected with fastboot, but with the XU it doesn't do anything.
- Yes I've installed all of the drivers (for every SEMC device) from the drivers folder in flashtool.
- I did some reboots with the PC and taken out the battery for like 10 mins (I mean the XU battery )
- The device is works (isn't hard-or softbricked), as it boots up, and useable, also it boots into flashmode (with the green led line)
- I've tried with "vol +" and USB plugging, and "vol +" and power and USB plugging too.
- When I try to boot into fastboot, my PC doesn't do anything (I mean no notifications, no beep sound, absolutely nothing!)
- Yes I've also tried to reinstall Flashtool program (of course the latest one) and also removed the device drivers, and reinstalled them correctly
- I can flash FTF official roms with flashtool.
- I've tried with 3 different USB cables (2 Sony, and 1 Samsung)
- I've tried the 'fastboot reboot bootloader' command with the device turned on, and i supposed to send the device into HBOOT where the Fastboot automatically will be selected, but the only thing it does is reboot to the system.
So everything works normal, except I don't have fastboot (and I would like to flash custom roms so i would really appreciate it )
Any ideas about it?
UPDATE:
- If I flash back a GB rom and try to enter into fastboot mode, flashtool says:
INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
-

I cant think of a way to get a non booted ZU into flashmode
I do have one thought on how to fix this - flash a system partition dump in fastboot, It will take me a little time to make this for you
Edit:
I have to charge the c6802 up as it is flat then flash a FTF and extract the files and test, all while the wife if using the PC (she has 5 days left untill she has finished a double degree, and a separate research project on the go - I may not get the PC for a few hours)
It looks like fastboot won't open a full 2.3 GB system dump, so there goes that idea
Do you have any warranty on the device? if so the steps below will void you warranty - if you haven't already. It will also wipe all data and the DRM keys
Have you flashed any kernel/boot.img? if so then do the last steps (5, 6 & 7) as well to get on a kernel compatible with the GPe ROM
You will need the fastboot drivers installed (should be installed with flashtool) and you will need adb/fastboot (should be in the flashtool folder)
Get your unlock code from Sony's dev site, you will need the IMEI # in the tag in the sim bay
Open a command line in the flashtool folder that has adb and fastboot .exe files
Enter this command:
Code:

Code:
fastboot oem unlock <unlock_code_from_sony>
Download either scrubber's kernel or DooMLoRD's GPe kernel
Flash boot.img with (if not called boot.img change command below to match):
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Thank you guys for your help and i am really sorry for flooding and spamming the entire zu thread.
This is my first time to root (sony way) and own a sony mobile, i was a samsung user before and ive never experienced this kind of horrible situation in flashing roms. I just bought my phone 7 months a go and i was so worried. If my Volume (-) rocker wasnt broken i wouldnt experience this nightmare, but i was hoping maybe someone knows how to turn the phone into flashmode without pressing the volume(-), unfortunately nobody knows.
I brought my mobile to sony service center and i hope they can fix it as i told them my software broke down and i need them to flash to stock firmware.
Edit:
i just saw my first post and it say fastboot mode! LOL sorry again.
i have no problem with the fastboot mode. I was stucked at FLASHMODE!
volume (-) is broken!
All the xda forums I read to Root my phone are very complicated and include unlocking of bootloader.. I found roottoolkit for rooting without unlocking bootloader, but it does not support for 26.1.b.2.147 build number..please suggest me easiest way to Root as I want to overclock my device for best performance.. Thank you
as for now there is no easier way than unlocking your bootloader,i use this,it easy for mehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/tut-blu-twrp-root-xperia-m4-aqua-t3238962

Unlocking bootloader is not risky if you follow the instructions, . Ota updates will stop but that will not be a problem because you can install new ftf with the flashtool.
U can get updates throught OTA. Just backup DRM keys before first unlocking bootloader and if u you are finished u can restore DRM after locking bootloader and everythings will work fine again.

You need root in order to backup your DRM keys.
You could flash the .128 from XperiFirm with Flashtool and the root with rootkitXperia.
I did it, boy. DRM is for me everything. I never unlock bootloader without backup DRM keys.
I tried to flash it(26.1.b1.85)....but my phone is not entering download mode unfortunately..

are you on the latest firmware for Dual Sim M4, then try this it worked for me.
enable debug mode, enable install from unknown source, Connect you phone to Flash tool.
Click the flash button select "FASTBOOT Mode", click "Reboot to fastboot (Via ADB).
the phone should enter fastboot, then disconnect the phone from usb (do not power on)
on flash tool, click close for fastboot screen.
now click flash again, select flash mode, select the firmware required (26.1.b1.85), click flash, wait for the preparing firmware
and when it asks to connect the phone, hold Volume Down and connect the USB cable do not let go of the Volume Down Button
when asked do you want to use the default.fsc file click Yes and release the volume down button.

Try to flash TWRP 3
Extract twrp.img and rename it to recovery.img
Install xiaomi usb drivers
Extract adb drivers anywhere in your computer
Copy recovery.img ( renamed it to only recovery) into adb tools folder
Boot your phone into fastboot mode by pressing volume down key and pressing power key simultaneously , and then releasing power key .
Connect your Redmi Note 2 to your computer through data cable
Go into adb tools folder => while pressing shift key => right click => and click open cmd here !
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press enter.
After flashing TWRP through adb flash the lite version http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-2/development/rom-slimmiui-dev-stable-t3296594
I hope it helps.

I bought this phone one week ago and after a lot of experiments that lite rom and a few modifications i am very satisfied with performance and baterry life,i've noticed that wifi consumption on baterry its smaller,on 3g acceptable,4g draining fast.

I think this rom has locked bootloader... so if you have working fastboot, try:
fastboot getvar all

If you're lucky, among the many lines of output you get will be ones such as:
(bootloader) unlocked: no (bootloader) secure: yes

If you have locked bl, try to flash older version of global rom.
