Ok I can't find a rom like this and my next step will be to spend months createing a custom rom,
It needs to be:
Android: GB 2.3.3 ICS is fine but prefer GB 2.3.3
Rooted
Tweakable: Have lots of tweaks
Senseless: Prefer pure interface
Buggless: All roms crash because I install too many apps too quickly
Fast
Perfect
works on Virgin Mobile USA

Please Note That To Make This Rom Work On All Devices We Will Have To Set It Up To Ask What Device, Carrier, and other info the device is.
Going to post the link in 10-15 minutes...

Something like this brings a smile to my face. You want to make something cause you want it to accommodate you. Instead of nagging about something that doesn't suit you, you decide to make something that suits you. How awesome. XDA needs more people like you. I applaud the initiative you decided to take. I also applaud the fact that you are willing to share. Welcome to the community.

Hi All,
I have started using X10i a month or so back and so far have been flashing many ROMS and finally settled on CM6 mod by [Cyanogen6.1.3]gingerbread[v01] : by http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1022236
However now i am moving to the next step which i thing would be to mod my own ROM. however after looking at the whole forum i was not able to find some straight forward startup guide for this.
can anyone help me on this.
It takes years of learning coding... only by creating this thread, you've shown us that your uncapable of doing that.
ohk so i have checked again the whole forum
found : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697938
let me seep that in and then will firein more targetted question .....

he just need the way .. weather he wil be able to follow the way or not cannot be decided by YOU bro.. dnt be rude... just encourage young developers... And if you dont wish to help them then dnt help (i.e want you have done).. BUT at the same time ATLEAST dont discourage them...
Well, are you interested in modding the ROM in its core,
or applying modifications like themes, framework-res changes and tweaks?
Because if the latter is the case, it's quite easy.
You just open the ROM zip and tweak yourself away!
But if you actually want to build a ROM, then, as it has been already said,
it is not easy.

Yeah ur are 100% correct mate... and this is the way to spread education ... not by the way of getting rude... and 2ndly yeah building rom is not easy but everything shud be tried then only +ive results can be achived..
Thanks for the tip buddy seems like i will start with some tweaks and move forward to custom ROMS as i gain more traction in the whole android world.

Hello People, I'm Moon And trough my world of android have i gotten lowend devices for own use. i love them because they're so cheap and still Great.
I have come from the GT540 Optimus to the ZTE blade and now the x8,
(I kept the Blade trough.) I am a big fan of Racht and his sense ports, what i want to ask you people for, since Racht seems to have disappeared should we do what developers and friends of him do. We finish what he started.
Most important is currently The GL Drivers I think, Maybe some RAM Management. The free ram is very low. (about 40\50mb) This causes Rosie to reload after coming from other apps. this would be cool to fix.
I asked XDA MEMBER # Kenia1234 (he ported it to the SGS)
About 3d\open gl and wifi. this was his reply.
however as regards 3D I fixed it using my device's libs under system/lib/egl or under /vendor/lib/egl and of course using a CM7 powered kernel...
as regards the wifi, it's a little bit more complicated...you'd need to have the bins of your device under /system/bin and the firmwares all in order, as the kernel wants to...
hope this was useful!!

I think he needs a little rest...
racht said that he will port HTC kernel and that means fully working Sense rom as soon as he's back.
I don't know where he is or what is he doing, but he's on xda often. (last activity today).
And I think he's getting Xperia Ray - his post here. Also that's the last thing he posted.
Anyway, the man will spoke, and we shoud donate to him a new device if he's selling his one. To continue development. But, we need to wait until the man spokes!!
I appreciate racht so much, and I hope he doesn't forget our X8.
OH.

I See, Thanks for Providing this information to the masses.
The Ray is the best Choice after the Arc, For me, Since i like big screens.
But yes. Lets just hope for the best. the Guy i updated on, (On the op) is doing GB sense too. We should let Racht Rest and hope for the best.
In racht's last Sense Port there is a lot of bugs. I really love that rom but it has a lot of bugs.
I was without SIM Card and in the Notification Bar it was showing that i used %S(something like this) tries for the unlock key and blablabla.
SD Safe to remove bug in ROOT Apps
I tried to connect the phone to my car radio and it doesn't show anything in the phone, only the icon changed to charging, but no led, no popup for connecting, nothing. And the radio does not recognized the phone. (i think it will happen the same in the computer, i think)
3d, wifi, 3G and vibra not working, as it shows on the original topic
So this is what has to be worked on
I cannot help you so much because i'm not a good java developer, i can only understand some parts of the code, but i cannot write it. But if you want a beta tester i'm here to try to find the maximum bugs i can
I will love if someone could continue what Racht did
I am following the news.
As I have said some months ago, X8 is now added to official CM tree, you can see here :
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=shakira
So, I guess thats the end of CM story (even that I prefer tweaks by doixanh).
Sense rom depends on kernel features that do not work on .29 kernels.
See HTC threads, all new roms require .32 or .35 kernels, lets hope X8 will get a new kernel ported.
And thanks again for support

And Yes, I've heard about the basics of porting sense.
Even trough you would be the best teacher.
Does this mean That Your Leaving the Shakira forums now racht?

Blagus said that we have to port HTC kernel first, but it's .32 or newer kernel. We have only .29 now. Therefore it follows that we can't have sense on X8 now.

Hey Guys,
I am going to get start on making a Rom for this thing and just would like to know if any could help with test of the rom or Kernel development. But mainly Testing.
You must have a good understanding on flashing and use of the device..
Please no "NOOBs" no offense but at this staging i'm not look to tell someone every single thing to do but I dont mind helping you understand what you don't know.
If you would like to help me get this out to everyone send me an email at [email protected] or pm me.
Thanks for every that responded to my request.. I Have some testers now and well have something out soon hopefully if all goes well..

and send an email because ill forget to check here
I still use SyndicateRom Frozen on my Epic 4G. Best ROM I've ever used, can't wait to see what you guys come up with for the Prime!
I would test depending on what exactly the rom is gonna be. If it is just themed/tweaked a bit i'll have to pass. If it is actual development i would JUMP at the chance to help you out! I have owned over 20 android devices so experience is not a problem.
Im in I have beta tested on the original Transformer and several other android phones, would love to help as I dont know how to program and would like to give back to the community!!!!!
I'm in for testing, I have a flashing addiction, and am always looking for the latest and greatest.

not sure what you mean but if your taking about an AOSP then no... just tweaks and mods.. i dont have to set up at work for that
(ADMINS: I know that I can be banned because os this... but I believe that it's a relevant question for this development/users community.)
But should we kindly ask stelios97 and nobodyAtall to merge their efforts to create a single kernel and a single ROM for our minis?
It would rock without any doubt.
What do you think?
Why do u think tat way. Its great we have seperate kernels. This way user can choose wat we want n customise accordingly. Ask for new roms nt this

Because:
- the time and effort that everyone can give to this type of projects its not infinite.
- we see things working on 1 kernel or ROM and not working on the other.
- they are even using for example the same code base but creating 2 different versions without sharing all the improvements (for example the home button to turn on the light in the nobodyAtall ROM that's not implemented in the one from stelios).
More kernels/ROMS, more options to choose. True.
I would prefer only 1 kernel/ROM with more quality that I can customize with my prefered apps.
Oh...come' on, We have DIFFERENT ANDROID VERSIONS here! We must have different kernels for different android versions. Try running a gingerbread kernel on jellybean, I bet it won't even boot, (If you do that, please tell me to laugh at you! ). Another one reason is that every developer spends time for development according to their life, they are not getting paid for their contribution. So enjoy their work as long as they continue contibuting and stop asking insane questions, they won't even happen, so try to read some things first before posting!

I didn't write that because it's obvious for me and didn't want to insult the brains that are working on this. _
I'm thinking about 1 kernel/ROM for each android version (2.3, 4.0, 4.1).
i don't want to insult anyone or offend his work... But this thing is impossible cause if you see just the history of our two main developers from theit beginning and digg up their work and effort, what they have achieved and how, you'll see that there is no connection between them... It's just two different kind of developers... Everyone who is fast and really watches this device's development understood what i said above!!!
oh so you mean one series of ROMs like MiniCM. you have it alread - MiniCM. as for kernel, you have nAa ICS and also GB kernel. so this thread is basically pointless. no offence intended.
i voted for yes it would be awesome if they would create one super cool rom
but the final decision its up to them

I agree. I see awesome thinks on both ROMS... everything in a single ROM? I agree... Super cool!
is a good idea, let the devs answer us about what they think of this. Separately, they are good, but together...

And they are even from the same country... That would make it even easier to work together.
You are right there is many roms and kernels unfinished and unoptimized that merging the work could end in stable and optimized rom
~I do sincerely apologize if i posted this in the wrong thread, kinda was torn between general and Q&A, but Q&A seemed more fit according to the forum rules.~
If you aren't already aware, there is a hybrid rom floating around varied devices. The rom isnt a hybrid between say ICS and JB, but rather a hybrid of cm10, aokp and paranoid. If you are curious about the specific details, just search XDA for PAC. Im trying to get back into porting, and maybe even back into developing roms, but i dont want to step on any developers toes, or over work myself. I think I would love to try and tackle this port and bring another JB rom option to us all, but i need to know if it is even worth my time.
My question is simple, Is the photon community interested in a PAC-Port?
Please, answer the poll, and if you have any added feedback/comments/questions, simply reply to the topic and i will be sure to read it through.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback, and with any luck, i can start working on it as soon as next week.
Thank you all in advance for your feedback/input!
Signed,
T3HG00GLEG33K

I'm interested.
We had another community project for the Photon lead by Th3Bill and Jokersax called Kitchen Sink that was based off of CM9

Its cm9, miui, cna, and aokp in one installer with all the options, tweaks, modifications, and changes you could ever want.

ah yes, haha, i miss that. Here, look at this link to get a better understanding of the rom. i think you might have it a little confused. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32482802
Pac, is one rom, built from multiple roms.
PKS was multiple roms built into one aroma installer.
hope your still interested.
The more roms the better I say.
Seems how I flip back and forth between cna aokp and paranoid I could definitely live with and love all the options in one ROM.

Well awesome. it seems that everyone would be interested in the rom. im getting everything together, but i probably wont have it started till next week. i wont give an eta due to my schedule(in college, working, taking care of my fiance) i might need surgery, so that could delay things as well, but im excited to tackle this project and finally contribute to the community.
On another note, if i get it up and running, i may decide to add in an extra rom for kicks. So instead of just pac, it might be pacc or pac-x. Thanks for your feedback. if you have any suggestions or added feedback, feel free to post your replys. I am following this thread, so i will be in touch.
Wish me luck!

Yeah. This would require your phone to be unlocked and rooted. This is because the roms it will ne built from require an unlocked bootloader, and a lot of the features require root access. Another note to everyone; I do not use gsm, so once this rom is up and running, i may ask for help specifically for gsm debugging for those in need of gsm.
Hate to like bump the thread at all, just wanted to update on progress.
The majority of the rom is ported over. Having a few problems as far as it booting and staying booted, got a boot logo starts, and then loops, so still a WIP.
On a side note; i wont be working on this rom for a bit, My hours have been doubled at work, and i just got in a wreck today( im not at fault ), car is totaled. So
a) i need time to recuperate
b) needa figure out car situation
Sorry for the delay folks. After im feeling better ill be starting up again, and maybe putting in some more time into it.
Thank you for your patience, ive been having a lot of fun working on this rom, and so when its up, i will be maintaining it as long as possible. =)
Time for my good friend bengay. lol
happy pre-halloween!

My sincerest apologies everyone. If you are not aware, Th3bill has released PAC. I just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback as far as interest in me porting PAC over. I couldn't be happier that bill made the rom. I think it is best left to those with more experience and who aren't so rusty. I had a lot of fun working on my port, but due to the circumstances i was not able to finish in time. This all being said, this topic is now closed. Have fun everyone, and happy holidays.
