[PETITION LIVE][URGENT]Everyone join the HTC source movement! - HTC Amaze 4G

We are starting a movement toward HTC to get them to release their source code on a more timely basis such as samsung. We need as many people as we can get to do this with us because they won't listen if only users of 1 devices complains. i know others devices have been held up by htc so we are reaching out to (or at least trying to) all of the htc device forums we can in order to spread the word and get everyone involved. please take a look at the link below as it has all of the info regarding this.

thanks for the tip

I'm kinda tired of signing these ( I will sign it), but I think HTC just doesn't care. Look at their Q2 profits, down 60% from last year. They either don't care about what their customers want anymore or don't know what they want.

Hopefully this will show HTC that most of their customers do care about these sorts of things such as releasing the source code in a timely manner. If Samsung can do it, so can HTC.

This is a great idea. no lie. HTC is a POS company. I seriously hate them.
OP. Do you live in IL? If so, Lemont is 15 mins away from me lol.

I personally believe its out of stock because they had it free for the week before it was sold out and alot of people bought it.
I called T-Mobile since they lowered the price and I was still in buyers remorse, and they said that it is re ordered and more will become available. Just waiting for shipments to come in.
Amaze is phased out.youll still find one.
However...
After the sense 3.6/ics uodate, there wont be anymore updates for it.no sense 4.0 except from xda.
But,Tmobile wont do anything more than the next release of 3.6

I got a free amaze two weeks but was having issues with the phone, luckily i was in the 14 days buyers remorse period so they tried to send me another Brand new Amaze but was out of stock. And I really wanted another one so they offer me a free upgrade to the One S. After using the One S for a few hours, I have to admit the Amaze was better in every way IMHO. From the placement of the on/off button, volume control, virtual keyboard, etc...... the amaze physical features was so well place that the One S just lacks. On the One S, the on/off button was hard to press, and EVERYTIME you try to press the button, you would hit the volume button. The One S is also longer witch makes typing on the virtual keyboard hard to use. And not to mention all the bugs that needs to be worked out. Im having so much issues with this phone, they are sending me out a brand new One S next week. If someone works at a Tmobile store in Central/South Jersery that is will to trade a brand new Amaze for a Brand new One S, send me a PM.

Not to mention the lack of a memory card slot. The 100-image (and absurdly swift) burst mode is amazing, but not worth the trade off in my humble opinion.
And then there's the fact that it only has a VGA FFC. Amaze suits my needs a lot better despite the One S's two advantages (burst mode, and in benchmarking the one S its clear that the processor runs the One S twice as strong as the amaze, but the amaze still performs marvelously to begin with imho)

Why is it that HTC still not releasing it?! Sensation has it already! No wonder HTC revenue falling short huge. Samsung SII released it already too.
The Amaze is relevant anymore to them. If they suppress the great likes of the amaze, after all it has the best camera of it's generation, they can push customers towards the one series which has source.

U would think XDA would probably have to. And yeah... The gov't has a lot bigger things to worry about then messing with unlocked cell phones. If I buy a phone, I should be able to use it as I wish... Thankfully I've been a tmo customer for 10 yrs, don't plan on leaving, and don't travel internationally so it doesn't really affect me

thats really strict! here in pa you really only get busted if your in either of these situations.
1. you buy a cheap and loud exhaust for your car and its super loud
2. your a redneck and you cut your cat off of your exhaust system and put a glass pack in its place. <---- lots of this in Pa
3. if you decide to have underglow turned on while vehicle is moving.

As far as I've heard if you bought your phone on contract you have to get your carriers permission no matter if the contract is up or not. I have also heard if you buy your phone used, from eBay ect. You can unlock without permission.

Need opinions

My rezound is going wonky and in need of a new phone. Question is should I get the DNA or hold off and see if Verizon get the HTC one? If I get it, it will be as a 2nd line.. should I get it and also wait til Nov for my normal upgrade and get whatever new phone comes out near x-mas?

I don't believe they are getting the one. The DNA is the best your going to get at the moment. Unless you wait for the gs4 that comes next month. Verizon is also supposedly getting the Motorola x this June. But the DNA is $49 with a new contract right now.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
If you like custom Roms and kernels and such I would not recommend it. There's nothing wrong with the dev community but if you buy it now you won't be able to unlock etc unless you send the phone off.
I would wait for the gs4 personally.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Ok, yea I have been looking at the gs4 too. I might wait for that, just not a big fan of Samsung.. why can't the DNA be unlocked now?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Btw, when I say 2nd line. I mean I'm going to add a 2nd line but take the better phone and use it as my personal line(1st line) and put the rezound on the 2nd
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
The latest ota has not been cracked yet and as of now it looks very unlikely.
I'm currently just waiting to see what happens until the GS4 is released.
If we get a fully functional CM10 on the DNA I'll be perfectly happy but who knows.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Do you really want to play the "maybe i'll wait just a few more months for this newer phone to come out" game?
I'm sure the GS4, and HTC One are great, but DNA seems just as impressive ( based on video reviews of all ). Once Verizon releases sense 5 for it being rooted won't make a difference.
Rezound to DNA was an amazing upgrade, so much more battery life, NO HICCUPS, and an even more gorgeous screen that can be on for 4-5 hours compared to 1 hour, lets not forget 24/7 4G without battery drain.

And yes I know new things come out all the time and its hard to keep up. But is it worth it to spend that kind of money on a phone that in a few months will be beaten by something else?? Is it worth the money at this time? Or wait for something better? .. I know near x-mas there will be another awesome phone, and I will have an upgrade then to get it.. but for now, is it worth the money to spend on the DNA when in a few months there will be something better????

DNA is a great device, I switched between this and my GS3 before I sold it and was extremely happy to come back to the DNA. Root would have been a deal breaker for me but since I unlocked and rooted before I took the OTA updates I was able to root again on the newest update. HTC has also always always (I don't care what anyone tells you) had better overall reception and not just with service and 4G but with WiFi Bluetooth too. My GS3 sucked when it came to getting strong signal and I doubt the GS4 will be any better with it, Samsung has always lacked in that department.

Just because the people who are working on it aren't posting public updates on what theyre doing doesn't mean it isn't being worked on, and by some pretty damn talented people might I add.
