which rom has best battery life? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there
i have my galaxy for a few wekks now and i find battery on CM9 RC2 pretty bad (underclocked and undervolted)
which rom is recommended for good battery life (and works with siyah kernel)
GPS/WIFI/MOBILE DATA/CAMERA must be working !!
thanks for your suggestions

I was using xwlpo stock, only rooted. Undervolted -25 and set cpu to 800 mhz. The governor was ondemand. The formula of amazing battery life. Now i use jelly bean which wastes battery.

No two people will ever have the exact same setup, and even if they miraculously did, the likelihood of their two phones coming out of the factory exactly the same is infinitesimal.
So a ROM that someone else experiences good battery life with, may be terrible for you or me.

Try rootbox with dm kernel. It has pretty good battery, but like previously said every user is different and therefore will have different battery life. It would not surpise me if this gets closed very quickly.

Which one is better with battery life, Performance and General Stability? Also, Which kernel gives Best Battery life and stability for the better Rom?
iOS.
In other words, you will not get the same performance, battery life or have the same experience with a given rom or kernel compared to someone else with the same rom or kernel. Your phone is setup differently, you use your phone differently & your phone came out of the factory differently to everyone else's.
Sooo...Try them both out & see how they work for you.

Best Kernel for Rootbox ICS help!!!1

Hey guys
I know its a repeated question but I have been trying several roms with all the different kernels on my SGS2 and the only one that I have found is the Foxhound Rom which gives me a decent battery life. But now I flashed Rootbox because I wanted to have the new TW launcher on the phone...I usually underclock the processor to 800Mhz on Ondemand profile....I installed the latest 1.7 version using the Darknight, CM9 and Siyah kernels and the battery lasts me for just a day of moderate usage mostly because I can see the phone deep sleep about 60-70% of the time? I also dont know if flashing a new modem will make a difference.
Can anyone advise me as to how I can reduce it and possibly get a better battery life? Also I am gonna try the Rootbox with Fluxi kernel as bajee11 uses that on his kernel? But if anyone else is on the same ROM and getting a decent battery life, can you please advise me and also suggest CPU profile that you are using?
All help much appreciated

For ics I use try dark knight 1.8 and it's really good. Are you giving it a few cycles for the battery?

AOKP MR1 Milestone 1 battery life

I have a i9300 and I really like this ROM, has everything i need except one thing: My battery is going out pretty quickly compared to previous ROMs i used (Foxhound for example).
I want to keep using it, so is there a good way to get better battery life? I'm using the default kernel that comes with the install because I dont know which ones would work with this ROM.
Any sugestions guys?
Thanks!

You can try to flash a Kernel that supports underclocking and undervolting of your CPU like the Temasek Kernel. Also keep an eye on what causes the massive battery drain. You can install a CPU monitoring app to see what`s using your CPU the most.
Also what do you mean by battery drain? Do you make it through the day?

Thanks for the reply!
It's not really a drain, but I barely get through the day.. while with the same use i would end my day with 40% with foxhound.
In the normal battery control it says its 40% android use..

[Q] ROMs For Battery Life

After doing a bunch of research, I think I'm going to flash ParanoidKANGdroid. It seems to be a really nice combo of features from many of the top development forks.
That said, I'm concerned that with the amount of features that are packed in there, the battery life may take a hit. Is this indeed the case? Or does it get a good battery life? If I'm concerned for battery life but still want to try out JB and possibly some of the other custom features of CM10 or AOKP or MIUI or ParanoidAndroid or etc., is there someplace else I should look?
I flashed SuperNexus and then underclocked it to min 192 max 1.1ghz gives crazy good battery life highly recommend it!

[Q] Battery life on kexec roms?

I've tried out a variety of kexec kernel roms on my xt912 and I can't seem to figure out how to get good battery life on any of them. I use cpu sleeper and hotplug but neither of these seem to help much I've also tried underclocking and using a custom kernel with subpar battery still. Any tips? I really like the added features but can't deal with the poor battery performance... Thanks for any suggestions!
For my kexec'ed phone, 24 hours is the limit....

Well generally battery life on kexec is worse than on stock kernels. But you might want to try JBX Kernel - it works great and gives great battery life with decent performance :]

I tried the JBX Kernel, the most recent hybrid version, and was getting pretty bad battery life and seemed to lose more battery with the screen off then on, what settings do you use?
Sacuraktive governor + sioplus scheduler, heavy undervolt (down to 830 mV), frequency lock at 100 mHz/1 gHz. You also need to remember that it's best to do a clean install on the first jbx kernel flash.

I have to disagree. My battery life is much more improved with cm 10.1 (hotplug and noop scheduler) than with stock kernel. Moto has much **** going on in the background
Well don't mistake stock kernel with stock rom. Battery life on debloated roms with stock kernels is still better than kexec.

I have not tried that so I can't give any statement but stock "rom"(retail.eu) with stock kernel doesnt have that good of battery life
Battery has been an issue since day one with the RAZR. Kexec has been a bit hungry compared to stock. Juice defender helps quite a bit.
