I also just bought one today from radio shack for $19.97. This is the first thing i've typed since i got it.
Maybe you have a keyboard app causing issues. You it with a different input method? Swype vs. touchwiz

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to port Bell's Webtop to the AT&T Atrix so we can have international characters (accents).
I read that Bell's atrix webtop has the accented character feature since OTA software upgrade to v37.23.
Or maybe a way to implement/hack this feature?
Thanks!
Rayan
I supose I'm not the only person that needs accented characters (Canada, USA, LatAm) ...
Bell users, do you actually have that option on your webtop?

While working with Atrix Apps, like search, Gmail or Quick Office. Press and hold the letter you wish to accent, This bring up a menu for you to pick an accent. This will not work while using the Fire Fox browser for some reason though(stock GB no root).
HBEAR
Yes Hbear, I knew that one, but I'm more interested in finding a solution inside Webtop, specially now that I installed OpenOffice in there...
Thanks anyway!

AHAHAHA... I know it's not what your looking for, but as a consolation, Open Office does have a paid Android App. that will allow you to edit documents. This will obviously allow you to use the accents, as long as you use the mobile view. As far as the other Apps.,,,,,,,, good luck in your search!!!!!

Hi everyone I know that this topic has been discussed many times, but I'm trying to find a solution. When I install Swiftkey3 I have the problem that the keys like? and ' are typed as \ and à. And that's really annoying. Is there a solution? For example, replace the files in keychars system / usr /?
At the moment I'm using the CM10, but also happened to me before with the stock ROM. I'm Italian and the use of predictive keyboard with right special characters is fundamental. Thanks for you attention
Then I think it's a problem from swiftkey. Just report to them bro..
Sent from my WT19i using Tapatalk 2
yes i know it's a swiftkey problem but maybe someone has found a fix on XDA
There's already a lot of bug report on swiftkey blog
---Edit---
Ok this thing is absurd, I solved simply by setting the layout of the external keyboard as English (USA) instead of Italian. Now i have Italian layout! -.-'
I just got this $70 keyboard as a Christmas present and it doesn't work. Here's why. I tried to pair it, but the pair key dialog did not show up and instead popped up the invalid PIN or key dialog. I am using the HTC Flyer running on a Stock Android 3.2.1 ROM non-rooted, and it doesn't work.
EDIT: I am now running on Dexter'sJB v1.8 [Android 4.1.1 + CM10 build unofficial] Hope it works there. I will try to see if the dialog shows up, if not, I'll try to press 0000, then Enter. If that doesn't work, was Dexter bad at implementing bluetooth? Well because his ROM supports and pairs a lot of bluetooth devices including game controllers. So hope this keyboard works.
I had no problems. Same keyboard. I just hit 0000 and enter on keyboard and it connects

I have the same keyboard the iPad version. Works great but I can not change keyboard language without third party application. Is there any key combination for switching layouts ? Thanks!

I would say try to contact HTC support but they won't help you with anything, they will just tell you that the Flyer is incompatible with the keyboard.
I have a Motorola BT Keyboard and the only way to get it to pair and work was by setting the keyboard in the "computer connect" mode. By pressing some keys on it, the Flyer was able to pair with it, and connect. If your keyboard has something like this in its settings, try it.

I have the same keyboard, also, and it had no problem pairing with my Flyer.
Flashed DextersJB
Never mind, I gave it away to my friend. But that was 2 months ago. Now I flashed dexter's jellybean rom v1.8 for the flyer. Hope the keyboard works. Also, thanks for the 0000 advice.
I miss my keyboard...
By the way, I would like to retrieve it back from my friend if it's possible. If not, I am planning to buy the iHome keyboard. Does it work for CM10 4.1.1 for HTC Flyer? But the most important thing is... I miss my keyboard so much!
Re: Logitech Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard (920-004569) on HTC Flyer
At least in my case, the Motorola Keyboard and Mouse work flawlessly in the Flyer on 4.1.1.

Since it's a windows keyboard...
As the title says, I am using External Keyboard Helper to assign some unrecognized buttons since it's a windows keyboard. Just look at the attachment below.

Well, did you enable your layout that suits your locale? If you did, try to switch language by pressing CTRL+SPACE on the keyboard. I don't know about it. If it's impossible for you, well there's no choice but to get a third party app.
Reply to the Language Switch.

Hi,
On my old phone I always used to type with the Google Keyboard. Mostly switching between English and Dutch with the button next to the space bar.
Now, on my Honor 7, I don't have the option to select English when choosing languages.
I can only choose either "Use system language" OR one or more "Active input methods" but that last one does not include English.
Anybody with the same issue or a solution for this?
Related but not such a big issue. My layout should be azerty but is now qwerty.
Thanks in advance

Use swype keyboard, it's far better and you can set any language, even two of them.
Isn´t the original Huawei standard keyboard actually a Swype version?

It is indeed. Just switch to English and adjust variables as you wish.

I have the same issue and don't want to use the swipe keyboard. I can only select Dutch or English, not both at the same time and then switch via the space bar.
Send from my Honor 7 using the free xda app.
You can select both languages and switch them with the space bar.

The strange thing is, when I choose my local language, I can choose any additional language, but not English...
I used this keyboard before on other phones, no issues there.

Check thoroughly through all language settings, there is a ton of them and somewhere you have even Chinese as a second language preset. I adjusted all settings and I can select both languages as you can see on attached pictures.
Similar problem
I have got Honor 7 just couple of days ago but have already noticed that Google Keyboard is missing a lot of layouts, especially the one I really appreciated - Uzbek. I have had Galaxy S4 before and installed Google Keyboard from Play Store and it has much more layouts available.
Anyone knows if there is any way to uninstall preinstalled Google Keyboard from Honor 7 and reinstall it from Play Store?

You simply must root your phone, remove google keyboard from system (make sure to install a keyboard app before you do so) then reinstall it.
Or try updating the app if possible

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. I wrote to Huawei support their reply is the standard "If the language is not available on the Google keyboard settings then I'm afraid there's no support for that language"

I have English. I don't have Uzbek layout (which exists on my Galaxy S4).
@Jixop Go to Language & Input settings, you'll have options there to enable various languages.

I don't know what's wrong here.
I was able to solve this! I upgraded to Android 6 and was able to disable the preinstalled Google Keyboard. Then I installed its clone from an .apk and then I have finally found Uzbek layout!
