If you were on GB, those roms won't work, if you're on ICS and you're s-on, use 4EXT, if the problem persist, then you need to flash the boot.img file in the roms zip file manually.
You'll need to learn how to use fastboot if you don't know how to or get someone to write you a script.
Try to reflash stock rom using OTA. may be fix it. I got same problem and solve it by this way

Phone for the last few months was on GB but I am trying to upgrade to ICS
Was using 4EXT to flash the rom and I flashed boot.img from that rom using Hasoons2000 all in one kit for Amaze 4G

If you can go to bootloader, so use method for S-ON user
-Relock bootloader (fastboot oem lock) (Place the PH85img.zip on sd before locking bootloader if u do not have a card reader.
-Flash leaked ICS RUU in bootloader (rename ruu to PH85IMG.zip, place on external SD card and boot into bootloader)
Visit the link of freakboy13
I am trying to get ICS on my Amaze. I am with Telus and have an S-On phone

But i do not have the stock recovery and unsure how to get it.
I tried skipping the step and just going from re-locking phone to updating from bootloader but I get a CID incorrect error.
Any help is appreciated, I have never had so much trouble updating a ROM
PS.
I wasn't aware so much was needed to upgrade from my BulletProof ROM to this ROM, I just flashed like I would have before and now I am in an HTC Boot loop

I went through that, but the RUU is an exe, or do I rename the OTA zip file to PH85IMG.
When I went through this process it loaded PH85IMG, did the check and then nothing. Never asked me to update or anything. I wouldn't have posted to ask for help if I didn't need it.

No. Connect your phone and flash the EXE. PH85IMG is ONLY for T-Mobile Users. Everyone else uses an EXE.
LMAO some things never change
Good luck with ICS

Thanks for your help! I have never felt like such a noob....I swear I am actually good with tech lol
So I managed to get my phone flashed, thanks for all of your help, but I thought the flash was suppose to upgrade me to ICS, but it installed a stock 2.3.4 I am so confused. After flashing the EXE am I suppose to use the OTA.zip? If so, from what I am reading I need to S-OFF.
I tried installing CM9 after the flash and I am able to boot, but once its loads and begins the initial setup it freezes on the Select Language screen and reboots. I have searched the forum and no luck.
Hey Guys,
I just bought a brand new HTC Amaze unbranded (without any carrier branding). Now I tried updating the phone to ICS but unfortunately no official ICS update is available. I have a version where I get to choose south asian languages at start up, I don't know if this would help.
Anyways, I tired rooting my phone through the following method:
1- Unlocked the bootloader via HTCDev method.
2- Flashed the 4eXT recovery via Hasoon2000 tool kit, after which I had the SuperSU app on my phone.
3- Flashed Cyanogenmod 10 Nightly ROM (Latest available on their website).
The installation was successful, however when the phone boots up to the Home screen it works fine for precisely 10secs and then it freezes and reboots and this happens until I remove the battery. However if the phone boots up to the Home page and I do not unlock the phone it would not go off, but will freeze and reboot once I unlock!!. My phone is still S-ON. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix it.
Thanks

OK there is one more thing that I tried while I was waiting for a solution, I downloaded a Stock ICS RUU and renamed it to PH85IMG.zip and then boot it to HBOOT where it picked up the file and started installing, after install it was stuck on the HTC logo. Now as per your suggestion I suggestion I should simply download a GB Stock and flash it the same way I did with the ICS RUU correct?....and would you have a recommendation which one should I flash?

Ok, I don't consider myself too much of a noob, I have rooted my old droid incredible many times...however,
I tried rooting my rezound today and believe I was successful at least in getting my bootloader unlocked...(using Hasoon's AIO kit v3.1)
I tried loading aokp rom and it just stuck on the white HTC screen..I can get into hboot, I tried rebooting many times..I downloaded
RUU_Vigor_VERIZON_WWE_2.01.605.11_Radio_RS_0.95.00.1123r_3161E_9K_QMR_release_233635_signed.zip and copied it to the sd card, renamed it PH98IMG.zip and tried re-flashing to the same stuck white HTC screen.
I am starting to freak out and wish I didn't have to ask for help here, but I am at the end of the rope and don't know what else to do...
Any kind souls out there that can help me?
Thanks in advance...
Being stuck at the white screen means the kernel didn't load when you installed the rom. I'm assuming your phone is still s-on. You need to flash the kernel seperate from the rom using fastboot. Extract the boot.img from the rom zip and flash it from your PC, I believe the option is there in the all in one tool.
If you wan to run the RUU, you need to re-lock your bootloader first and flash it through the bootloader, not recovery.

If you want the latest official RUU, here is a link:
(the RUU you tried to use above was a GB one)
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=Vigor Grab 3.14.605.12
There was a recent OTA to take it to .13 but it's not really necessary.
If you want to go to the global leak RUU here is a link:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
Since you are s-on, if you go to the global leak you won't be able to go back to anything official unless you s-off.
The above will have Verizon bloat, so if you want something stock without bloat you can look through the ROMs. I think there's a couple in there.
Hello All,
After reading a loads of treads and posts and trying a loads of thing.. I am finally posting my problem here..
My HTC amaze was working perfectly fine with the stock ROM.. Until i though about trying the Revolution HD ROM. This is where it all went wrong.
I did a clean wipe and flashed the ROM through 4ext recovery. The phone got stuck in boot animation screen for hours (I literally dozed off waiting for the screen to come back on, 3 hours i must say) Then i used my stock ROM to get back but NO go, it didn't help, As advised i did a super wipe and then tried re-installing the ROM NO go, Then I tried to go back to stock ICS ROM NO go, then I was advised to downgrade to GB stock and then try but that also didn't help me in any ways..
Now I am stuck with a phone which has the Recovery working, the Bootloader works fine the internal and external sd card show me the content perfectly but then the only thing missing is the phone powering up to an Interface the ROM DOESN'T boot up and it's stuck in the Boot animation screen..
Please help me as this is the device i have to use on a daily basis.. I really love the phone and can't see it just getting wasted for nothing...
Kindly provide your inputs on what can be done..
Did you make sure smart flash was on so that it would also flash the kernel?

before flashing any rom do a full wipe (format everything except sd card) maybe your missing that :/
Viper comes with a kernel.. That's why it worked
Otherwise
Flash a rom then flash kernel THEN reboot. Unless the room will work with your current kernel.
Or do an ruu that you have renamed PH85IMG.zip (search proper naming as it's caSe SENSItivE) and have it placed on the root of the external Sd. (bootloader must be relocked before too)
.. Reboot to bootloader it will start automatically...
If you don't want to flash ruu please remember
... You must disable smart flash in 4ext (also update 4ext from within the app.. Not recovery ) to flash roms if you are s-off
A lot of people have not updated 4ext and the newest version had some important information and fixes.!!

I do it religiously every time before flashing a ROM... OKie... i got to know something which happened to my phone.. my cousin was playing game on it.. and she saw some upgrade waiting and pressed it but it never went through.. (This is when i was having a stock ROM on it) and then i thought the stock ROM had issues and i tried flashing the Revolution ROM... Well I guess my cousin triggered the update and she said it didn't go through so she switched off the phone and never told me about it.. Under my current situation the only Rom that boots up is Viper Rom and no other ROM has been able to boot up.. And in Viper Rom the phone process gets a Force close... Acore process get force close and many more like that..

Thanks for the info... Let me give this also a try.. and will let you know...
Jus a question though Well we jus need to re-lock the boot loader right and not S-On the phone again ?? (Though i don't know how to S -ON it)
I tried to re-lock the boot loader and i guess it was successful with the following error:
C:\Amaze\data>fastboot oem lock
...
(bootloader) Lock successfully...
(bootloader) TZ_HTC_SVC_DISABLE ret = -131073 (0xFFFDFFFF)
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 0.950s
C:\Amaze\data>
**Also every time i flash the stock my internal storage needs to be formatted when i flash recovery and toggle USB device.
***I disabled the Smart flash, cleared the storage except sd card and then flashed the Revolution ROM and Faux kernel V29 ... Still no Go..

There is a link in the ARHD thread for the ICS upgrade. It might be worth your while to start with a complete wipe. Falsh ICS firmware update. Flash new radio and hboot update (I didn't have to relock my bootloader either). Flash rom of your choice (I personaaly prefer viper LOL) then reboot and see what you get!
**Also I would recommend using 4ext recovery!

I relocked the bootloader and tried again with the zip file i have which used to work perfect before but it didn;t help me and was stuck in boot animantion screen sayin ANDROID 4G didn't move ahead for 1 hour. I had to unlock the bootloader again.. But there looks like no way i would get back to the stock ROM. So after unlocking it now it back to UNlocked... but again I have to start from scratch..

In my pursuit for finding a ROM that works fully with my Amaze i landed up in MIMU ROM it works in every way but i really got my HTC amaze to enjoy the HTC sense..

Firmware
--- With 4.x ROMs I strongly recommend flashing above firmware ---
--- Place PH85IMG.zip on the root of your SD card and boot into bootloader mode ---
--- This package contains newest radio and rcdata ---
--- MD5 Checksum: FD324E130464245C84275902377527F8 ---
--- Using a "non matched" radio could have a negative effect on performance, battery life & signal strength ---
--- You don't have to flash RIL files for recommended radio. It's already in the ROM ---
after you do that one, do this one. Place on external sdcard, boot into bootloader and follow instructions on screen from there. I did not relock my bootloader to do this...

Thanks for the info.. i am downloading it now and will update you after following the instructions given by you.. :good:
I am also attaching the log from Revolution ROM, Coz this one only makes a log.. Kindly let me know if the \system filesystem is fine looked like something wrong there..
**I flashed the zip file following your instructions and then installed Energy ROM.. It didn't work but you can see the logs attached for your reference..

Did you make sure smart flash was on so that it would also flash the kernel?
