I just read on Xperiablog that there is a stable CM9 coming to our Xperia handset tonight.
Anybody confirm?

I hope so

Well, the changelog isn't updated
http://code.google.com/p/freexperia/

It's for the xperia device's build in cyanogenmod like xperia arc etc....
for the 2012 device's it's FXP and it's unofficial cyanogenmod
In cyanogenmod website the update is avaible for the "official cyanogen" device's

I tried the usual way with wipes and formatting /system but it hung at the boot logo. Didn't have time to play around as I had to leave for work. Try some of the methods listed in the FXP CM9 thread in the Development section. Seems Bin4ry's kernel helps for the initial wipes/flashing.
I might give it another try when I get home or hold out for the next CM10 release...

ICS AOSP ROM for SE Xperia Neo?

Hi all, I'm opening this new thread asking if there will be a rom for the Neo based on the new version of Android: the 4.0 "Ice cream sandwitch". I'm not talking about the cyanogen mod, but only a simple rom with the last version of Android without personalization (so I think more stable and fast).
Do u know if a rom like this will be done? There is anyone in this forum able to create it? Would be wonderful!
Be patient!

I'm not shure that clean AOSP will be faster than CM or MIUI. This custom ROMs includes some tweaks for better perfomance.
Well zdzihu started working already (released a version already as well) on ICS for the Xperia X10 so we'll maybe hear about it soon on our lovely Neo

Jerpelea (FXP) has put up SNEEKPEEK of AOSP android 4.0 on Arc forum
So chances are we'll get AOSP before CM9
All in due time

FXP = the FreeXperiaProject Dev Team
CM = CyanogenMod = the name of a ROM as well the name of a Dev Team
AOSP = official/original release = Android Open Source Project
If a tweaked AOSP version comes out on Neo, I wont be going for CM9 I think :/
I was going to move it but there is already a thread about ICS in general section, so thread closed. Regards,

Known bugs

How is this rom so far??
So this build will only be as up to date as what has been commited to FXPs Github?
Going on FXPs tendency towards feature regression I think I will stay away from nightlies.

Official Support of Xperia Neo V by Cyanogenmod

Finally Cyanogenmod has started supporting officially our Neo V.
Here's the link of the first RC for Xperia Neo V (haida): http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=haida&type=
To make it work use kernel 126 from FXP
Have anyone tried that yet? Becouse after flashing kernel from zip can't turn on my phone (black screen for whole time) and with fxp kernel cant install zip.
I've just tried it, same result...the kernel didn't even boot...
At least from now on CM is going to support us..

Sounds good, coz most custom ROMs are based on CM. Let's hope that we get a stable release

it shouldnt boot.after you flash kernel you must enter recovery and flash zip.(except if you mean that it doesnt get into recovery too)
i dont know
although i thank people at cm for their effort
and Im grateful
Its way to funny that a small change in hardware (camera ) hasnt led so far to the suppport of Neo v
On the other hand I havent tried cm but think there are many users that are using cm
SO ITS A BIG SUPRISE TO ME
cm supporting Neo v and the device doesnt boot
In other words do they have to reinvent the Wheel
I m burning my brain cells hearing this and why should anyone even bother posting 130 mb that dont even boot.
Sorry for wasting your time on behalf of the poster
End
at last some gud news .............
it's great !!!

Is it just me, or is cm9 too laggy?
I mean homescreen scrolling is unbearable, even turning off wallpaper scrolling it feels choppy, ram usage is high even on a fresh install and the overall experience is worse even than stock ics.
I understand it's a work in progress and I really appreciate all the work that is done every week, but shouldn't the core idea be to provide an overall smoother and lighter experience?
As little as I have tried CM7 it managed to do exactly this and do it good, disregarding the things that never got to work.
Anyway I'll keep coming back every week and trying each new build hoping my issues will be fixed someday..

These things take time, it's a work in progress. We just need to wait until Sony releases Jelly Bean.
Yes that's what K900 said about JB
But what about CM9 official.... nope why bro
If go into official cm site or aokp site they don't have official built for XS
I wanna use vennila android in my XS but there is no way either ICS or jb right now huh ?

There are official CM9 builds for the Xperia S, here
The AOKP team doesn't officially support the Xperia S but thanks to our awesome devs we have AOKP builds for Jellybean, no ICS at the moment.
The vanilla android thing is just an experiment, I suggest if you want a stable vanilla android experience stick with CM9
CM 9 official huh very nice let me try it then
Yes thanks to dev... I am right now in aokp build 4 only bro but no camera and known bugs as u said
Will cm9 give pure experience and do all working (camera too)

What are the changes in cm 9.1 and 9.2
And can i flash jb gapps after flashing cm 9.1

From 9.0 to 9.1 there are some bug fixes and an increase in stability, cm 9.2 doesn't exist. No you can't flash JB Gapps in 9.1 because it's ICS :good:
Thank you brother
