Language settings question for 4.0.4 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all.
I'm in the US, have the 7510.
If I flash the UK update, will I get UK english only, or is there also an option for US english?
Thanks.
Jack

You'll get good ol' American English.

You'll get English but there are places, like spell check, which will refer to UK stuff. All of those I've encountered so far can be changed to US options.

Thanks, folks!

US Atrix 4G to Dutch Atrix 4G, possible?

I have a quick question.
I got my AT&T Atrix 4G from Ebay 2 months ago and still very happy with it. However I would really love to have my phone 'completely' in Dutch (instead of partially with Any Locale) and even have the possibility to use the Dutch dictionary.
I recently noticed the Atrix 4G will be released in the Netherlands as well (within 3 weeks or so). If the phone does arrive in the Netherlands (you never know with Motorola of course), will it be possible to replace my AT&T Atrix 4G with a Dutch version of the Atrix 4G ROM / kernel (or whatever it's called)?
Anyone knows this by any chance?
If it is an ATT Atrix you cont be able to just flash the dutch software on it, you might however be able to mod it with files from the dutch version to get the dutch locale, probably it would be some effort to do such tho. However with 2nd init you might be able to run the dutch ROM on it, or a custom ROM that supports it.

Thanks for the information. I am already running "Any Locale", however not everything is in Dutch, especially the SMS text dictionary.
It would be great if exchanging the US version with a Dutch version ROM by any means in the near future.
Try SwiftKey beta x from the market, it's free and has a dutch dictionary i believe

[Q] S2 & Docomo Japan

Hi,
I just got my docomo SIM with unlimited data plan.
But somehow i and the guy from the docomo shop couldn't get the data to work. APN is set to spmode.ne.jp
Here are my info:
Galaxy s2 international version.
CyanogenMod7
Maybe someone has some idea why it doesn't work?
Ask question in Cyanogen forum .
jje
This question was there already asked but not answered.
Anyways, i reverted back to stock rom and the problem persits. So it's not a problem of cm.
Is it possible that the s2 doesn't work in japan? In detail, that data doesn't work? Calls work very well.
If someone got the german/international version to work with data in japan please tell me.
Hi,
I bought my galaxys2 in France and unlocked it. It is now potentially possible to use it with any carrier (and I tested it with two other french carriers)
However, I am going to Japan for my job for at least a few years and since my phone is only a few month old, I'd like to keep on using it in Japan.
It is my understanding that if in "about phone" setting window the phone version is "GT-I9000", it means that I have the "international version" of the phone.
Is that right ?
If so, will it work with any japanese carrier (docomo, au, softbank...) ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this because it is quite hard to find answers about this issue...

[Q] 407 in germany

Hi,
did any of you german users try out the new official rom?
Will it work with the german providers?
Is it german or english only?
Will it work out of the box like 360 does, or will I have to fiddle around a lot?
Thanks!

It should work with any provider, as far as i can tell it isn't locked to KT SIM cards, however, there are only Korean and English included.
And yes, it does work out of the box, but that doesn't mean you can't fiddle if you like to.
No problems with german sim (tried telekom and vodafone)
No german language included.
but i think USSD code wont work though..cz same here with at&t

USSD doesn not works for me also
USSD seems to be a quite general issue with all GB roms. I'm using DSC v0.7 on o2/Telefonica (that has it's own problems and can't ve taken for any reference, i strongly recommend anyone in germany looking for a new provider to leave out anything that's based on o2) and e+ (where everything works fine).
There is only one thing that I would like to add: You will not have support for Wifi Channel 13! Even adjusting the corresponding settings in your build.prob will not help this.
EDIT: I think I'm gonna open a thread on this one)

[Q] German phone in England?

I'm in England. If I were to purchase an Android device in Germany, change the UI language to English, and bring it back to the UK. Would I be able to use it here (on UK 3 network) without problems, or might there be issues with updates later on? Any thoughts/tips would be much appreciated, thanks.

[Q] SM-G900T dutch

Hello, all,
Hope somebody can help me out. I bought a s5 SM-G900t on internet. im from Holland and there was no dutch on the phone.
I rooted the phone and im trying roms on this moment. i hope to find a lollipop version with dutch language on it.
this rom is very nice [ROM][ViSiON-X INTL][Android L 5.0][G900FXXU1BOA3v2][02-06-15].
but when i put the rom on the phone i have problems with the network.
it connects en then no network it connects and no network. just for 2 or 3 seconds. on and off.
all the help is welcome....
It's a known issue. Try to flash again, follow the instruction from the OP of that thread. When it comes up for the first time, let it sits at the screen of selecting language for good 5-10min. After that your phone will have no problem with network signal. Before you get to that selecting language, it will ask you to log in Samsung account...don't do it...skip it.
About Dutch language, some others know more than me will help you, sorry.
