I've got remICS v1.4 in my phone, flashed it yesterday. I have some troubles:
- Chrome not working.
- Several apps that should work in the device and ICS are not allowed to be installed, not by market nor apk.
- I seem to get no notifications from apps (for example, Facebook Messenger doesn't sound, vibrate, blink or show in the status bar).
Any ideas? I like this room, but the apps and notifications are critical for me. I will try other roms in the meanwhile, but I would relly like a solution if it is.

I'm pretty sure that chrome doesn't work on ics for x10 (for now)

Hey thanderstruck, ive tried remICS rom for xperia at the beginning and seems a little bit heavy for now, i'm using this right now : Xperia S ICS
- for those several application, please provide examples so we can test on our ROMS's to provide you any troubleshooting
- for notification i didn't have any problem

Thanks man, I'm using that rom right now and all those troubles went away. Facebook messenger kept not showing in the staus bar, but I reinstalled it and worked again, must have been titanium backup.

Great news thanders, some post of ROM's doesn't recommend titanium back up because of compatibility, or issues like yours

hi.i updated the facebook app this morning and everytime i press messages or friends it force closes.wondered if anyone else has this this problem?? im runnin wolf's v06 which i cannot compliment enough,any help would be great,thanks

however my initial problem was the contacts were not syncing with facebook. i so ended up completing uninstalling the app, removing the apk from the system/app folder and then reinstalling from the market (this was a fix on one of his previous roms), it still didn't work so applied the contacts fix from wolf and it worked ok - however I now get fc on messages within facebook.
i was going to post in the dev section but not enough posts yet to be allowed..

yeh im going to have a tinker round with is and ill let you know iv tried reinstalling doesnt work,but ive had facebook working fine so its probably not rom related. if all fails il post in the dev section,dont like disturbing people though their working on gingerbread...the sooner the better lol
hi, it seems everyone is having problems with the new facebook update.ive gone back to 1.5.2 and all is working again. ive uploaded it for you.if you cant roll back on the market like i couldnt. gd luck

I've recently been experiencing a series of pop-ups in an Android dialogue box occasionally when I click links that I know are clean.
A lot of them are dialogue boxes that say "Congratulations, your US number has been chosen for a gift - press the OK button to continue"
and the only way out is to either press the Okay button or force stop the browser.
The browser it most recently happened with has been with Dolphin Mini browser - can't remember if it occurred through my Android's native Internet browser or not, either way it takes me to a site called Mobgifts(dot)org
I did some research and some said it was a virus, but I have Lookout installed on my device and scan it weekly and just did a scan yesterday - all was clean..
TL;DR: Internet links in browser lately have been unescapable diallogue boxes that say "Congrats you won this" and you have no other options than to either force quit or press Okay then exit
What are your takes on my issue?
Btw - phone is stock, non rooted, hasn't ever been rooted.

if it doensnt work go to settings applications head to your browser open the dialog box and delete all app data (dont uninstal it!!)
If this doesnt work try another browser

My Phone is completely stock - no rooting so no popup blocker

I've done that, cleaned it all out, I have Lookout installed, but as I stated, nothing is being picked up by it

It's happened on various pages, some links to Imgur (image hosting site), and then this time it happened on Vimeo.
I'm getting the same on my Cappy whenever I try to come to XDA. I just loaded Serenity Rom on the phone, haven't added any apps that I didn't have when I was on Cognition (other than BLN and Avast, in an attempt to see if the phone is virused. It's not. Supposedly).
I am royally pissed about this. I've had this phone for two years, most of it on some form of Cognition, and never had a problem. I literally can't imagine how these popups have wormed their way onto my phone--and for me, at least, what browser I use doesn't matter. Sooner or later, that damned popup shows up, and there's no way out of it except to FC the browser.
Looks like I'll be stripping the OS back to stock and starting over again, unless someone can suggest a solution beyond "turn on your popup blocker", since it's never off.

I seemed to have found a solution - and from what I was told on AndroidForums on a thread post - its more of an AirPush issue - meaning its an advert through an app that has been installed,
I just scanned with Lookout and Norton and nothing was out of place or infected.
I also posted to Reddit's Android Community to see what they thought. I'm awaiting their opinions.
Getting the same popup from mobgifts.org for only the last couple days. Googling it get almost nothing. It doesn't seem to have a pattern of coming from any particular website.
I did as others have said and FC'd. I even accidentally clicked on OK once and it seemed to do nothing but except close the popup box, it didn't take me to a new website, etc.
Experiencing a similar problem, but so far, it doesn't seem like anyone has come up with a solution. It could very well be an app that is using the most obnoxious ads ever, but I've used both Airpush Detector and Lookout's Ad Network Detector and both come up empty.
I know that the ad network is BlueAds.com and they keep changing the URL of the gift site. It has been mobilewinner.org, mobilevisitor.org, rewardstoday.org, mobprizes.com and now mobgifts.org.
Has been happenning on my tab as well.. Mainly on xda. My phone hasnt had any problems yet. Quite annoying i must say. Hope someone can shed some light as have gona through all the apps with no luck.

I just started getting this on my phone. Coincidentally it had never happened prior to me putting the Pure ICS ROM on my SGS2. Here's my timeline if it helps:
• Stock ICS ROM (O2 UK)
• Sunday - Backuped up and Flashed FOXHOUND ICS ROM
• Tuesday Morning - Factory rest, wiped cache/dalvik cache and flashed Pure ICS ROM
• Tuesday Afternoon - Restored app backups via Titanium
• Tuesday Night - Started noticing mobgifts(dot)org hijacking my browser(s)
I say mobgifts(dot)org is hijacking because it happens on the stock browser, ICS Browser+ (my current fav) and dolphin. It is also not appearing as a popup but rather loading in the current browser tab.

Its not just ics roms as it happens to me on my stock unrooted tab 10.1 running honeycomb 32. As you said its not a tab and it disables the back button requiring closing and opening a new tab

Like I said guys, it's strictly adware - use Lookout's Ad Network app off the Play store, I would link it but unfortunately I don't have enough posts to do that yet.
- It isn't malware or any form of trojan - its advertising, Someone brought up that it wasn't AirPush but a different company instead.

I'm not sure it is adware. It seems to be just a Javascript alert dialog box. Because users don't always realise that, they assume that clicking OK is going to start a download or something. As far as I know, it should be just fine to accept the OK then hit the back button etc. It certainly gave me a fright the first time I saw it!
It looks like we're ending the golden age of mobile browsing. I remember a period on the desktop about 15 years ago when you couldn't block popups, and one malign website could completely ruin your afternoon. Hopefully we're not going to go through a similar phase with mobile computing....

Anyway i'm using this ROM...[ROM][CM10][4.1.1 JB] Kaffee4Eck | CM10 -> Online v3 [29.07.2012][AROMA+SLIM][EXP] Is a good ROM but I have to problems, First there is no Galary Icon, Second Viber does not work...Regarding the crash from yesterday it happend two time that the S2 rebbot by it self, but this is a problem of my mobile maybe.
One other thing i cannot add the Facebook Contacts, even after doing all the Syncros.

As its an early experimental build, you cant expect it to work flawlessly. It could take several months to make JB roms suitable for everyday use...

The issues with Viber have now been sorted. The app was incompatible with JB but I received an update via Google Play about 3 hours ago.
Regarding the gallery app, I'm on the CM10 experimental release (20120729) and the gallery is now accessed through the camera app, there still should be a seperate gallery icon in your app drawer though. When in the camera simply swipe to the side to get into the gallery. Personally I use QuickPic from Google Play. I find it much better than the stock gallery apps.

Problem
I have a smiliar problems with v.6.
I use a podcast player (podkicker) and sometimes it shuts down for no reason. When i plug in headset in sets itself to vibrate and if remove it stays in vibrate until i go into settings and bump up the volume again. Another problem is if i get a SMS while listening to the podcast the volume does not resume back, yet again i have to go back to settings and just touch the volume button to restore it.
Second problem i have is that my web browser is flickering 9/10 times i go in into bookmarks. Never had that problem before with other roms. I know its new. I just cant post this problems in the real thread since im missing some posts.
hey guys i have a SG3 installed two days ago the OMEGA rom v32.1 and now i don't have facebook notification anymore. other services that have push notification are working like instagram and whatsapp, but Facebook isn't.
tried uninstall/reinstall, clear data/cache but not worked.
On the app the notification is set to never (as was told to notify as soon as you get something)
And before the installation of the omega rom was working.

i got nearly same problem as you. Instead of just facebook, i can't get any notifications after XXELK4 leak. I think it is because of it. I tried every possible thing but the problem goes on.

probably... i tried the blackberry method, but no success either. and i cant post on OMEGA thread because i dont have enough posts...
i got my notifications back, i'm not sure what process worked, if was the blackberry or if clear data/cache or even installed the friendcaster, anyway after many attempts it's working again...

You have no idea how happy I am this ROM exists!! But I cannot get SMS working. I get FC's on every SMS app I try including Hangouts. Anybody else getting this and/or have a remedy? Thanks
I was about to post the same error here, I have an Amaze with Videotron, S-Off, Super CID, HBOOT-1.93.2222 (JuopunutBear), TWRP as a recovery.
I tried everything, I tried different Gapps, I also tried without installing Gapps, I tried sms apps from the Play Store and Hangouts too. The only thing I haven't tried is formatting my internal SD card. (it was a clean install, all formatted and cache cleared). I also tried switching to ART but I had the same problems.
Everytime I try to just open the sms apps, the app crashes. I managed to see the error once and it was something about SQL but it might be a misinterpretation from my part.
Calls, 4G and WiFi were all working perfectly too.
After some research on Google, I tried installing busybox, xposed framework and uninstalling Voice+, but nothing works. The basic messaging app just closes without any kind of message and other apps show that it stopped working.
(I tried the Evervolv rom 4.4 and SMS were working on that one, maybe it's a setting with my network type as I am on Videotron in Canada and it is using AWS, maybe a setting under *#*#4636*#*# ??)
I want to contribute and sen some log of that error, how can I do that? I am familiar with roms, kernels, etc but not that much with logs... I tried many roms before and never got that specific problem...

It's not just you SMS simply doesn't work on this rom and I was surprised to see that no one else pointed this out in the original thread. The default Messaging app closes immediately when you try and open it. Other SMS apps also crash either immediately upon opening them, or when you try to send a message (hangouts & SMS Pro for example). This is the only thing keeping me from using this amazing rom as my DD.
I have the same exact problem with SMS- will try the evervolv 4.4 though was really looking forward to CM11
Edit: also didnt have any other problems with the rom except for the black boxes and the camera

In olden days there were some issues with some google things not working, and people uninstalling the ones that came in gapps and downloading them fresh from the play store.
Have you gone into recovery and fixed permissions?
Again, in days of yore, this might straighten some things out.
Is it possible that black-boxing has something to do with CPU frequency, and is it possible to tweak up the speed through developer options and lose the boxes?
I haven't tried this rom yet, as I'm currently sticking with the stable(r) cm10.

The black box issue has nothing to do with GPU or CPU speeds. There are discussions on the dev threads. The issue affects other legacy devices on various KK based source builds, not just Amaze and CM. The consensus is this seems to be related to the default browser which has changed in KK. This would also explain why it effects other gapps too.

Media Issues
The ROM is pretty good for the most part.
I just have this problem where Play Music gives this error, "Cannot play the music track you requested"
I clear my media storage and try to rescan my SD card but none of the apps work. They all crash.
Is there anyway to fix this?

but as the thread goes ahead we read more prolems/bugs
May i ask what is the current status for bugs/not working and other issues and what has been fixed and any other stuff we should flash over the ROM like driver, may it be upoaded to the OP for ease as its reall hard to search for those things on mobile app. thank you and good luck.
Anyone else have issue disabling their microphone while in a call? I tried with both the speaker phone and regular handset mode, the "no mic" icon enables but my caller can still hear me. The Hold button seems to work fine though.
FYI, it took a while for the battery to figure itself out. I wiped the battery stats before flashing everything and the first few days I got a lot of jumping battery levels. I let it charge all the way down as much as I could then rebooted and did a full charge and rebooted again and then full charge again. That seemed to reset the battery level to the correct state.
I also , enabled Device/GPS only for the location detection other wise the google services at 50% or more battery.
I'm running the 2014-02-16 build, with the updated video drivers.
Camera is not working
I have also installed this pacman rom 4.4.2. all is well instead of camera.

Since PAC uses the CM device tree for its source any issues with CM will also be evident in PAC. Until the CM devs are able to resolve the camera exposure issue it will exist in both ROMs.

Think about your question for a minute. Have you seen any recent posts in the CM dev thread indicating an update which solves this issue? If you had just taken a moment to look at the dev thread instead of posting this you would have answered your own question. It's not like the CM-11 thread is incredibly long, it's only 28 pages total. This post is just laziness on your part and an unnecessary waste of bandwidth.
