Bog standard un-moded rooted EU ICS 3VO rom available? - HTC EVO 3D

Hi guys, I've tried many ICS roms here but unfortunately everyone has bugs and problems...
Is there a bog standard rooted 3VO EU ICS rom here to download without any modifications? Just a plain rooted OTA ICS rom?
Also where can I download old PG86IMG.ZIP radios for the 3VO, radios from gingerbread days? I've noriced a big drop in signal strength and stability with the new radios floating around since ICS came along...

This section is for development. If you had looked, one of the stickys is
[Tutorial - How to revert back to Original ROM for backup or warranty purposes]
Which shows you how to revert. You can then OTA update. Please post in the relevant section next time.

Thanks for the info but you haven't even tried to answer my question.. I know about HTC standard OTA updating....I don't want an un-rooted OTA update.
I'm asking if there is a Bog standard un-moded rooted EU ICS 3VO rom available to download here in XDA?
I'm surprised if there isn't because that's the standard first thing devs release....
There are tens of different moded ICS roms to try in XDA, everyone with individual mods and many bugs... Im looking for a Bog standard un-moded rooted EU ICS 3VO rom

oquestions in development thread are not allowed. REPORTED.

Thanks for that Mr Bavaria goosewalk

1. Wrong section.
2. I will try to answer your question anyway
You can root the OTA ICS rom yourself.
1. Install it
2. Unlock bootloader
3. Install custom recovery
4. Install SU 3.x.x via recovery
Voila, you're rooted.
There is a thread with all stock roms. It also has the RUU for ICS.
The problem you're having in signal strenght is not something I can comply, so I cannot agree with that. I have used all (yes...seriously, I've tried them all ) ICS Roms here and no signal strenght issues whatsoever.
The GB radio's... there is a thread also that has all ROM's , Kernels and firmware's listed. It's a sticky, so easy to find.
Not that I don't want to provide any links, it's just that I am really lazy today
edit: holy crap you guys are fast.
@e3d, thanks for the report

Great Thanks, real help some useful tips.
Is the RUU for ICS rooted?
I can't keep up with all the different threads here so I'm forced to ask sometimes. That's what forums are for...
e3d certainly has his finger ready on the button....

Why don't you just revert to stock ics, and root your self, ? ? If you have any problems is be happy to do it, create a nand and ul to my drop box

No, you need to flash the superuser.zip through recovery.
Also, there is a Q&A forum. Please use it.

Because of leaks, thanks to mdeejay, development was instant so when ruu was released the devs were ahead of the game, and the need for a stock but rooted Rom wasn't really necessary for ics, if you wanted gb its in here somewhere, you could revert to that, then update to ics ota, and then re flash recovery and in root, after unlocking the boot loader

Why do you want to install a stock (non-optimized rom)? when you can install mwakious rom, for me is the best one, no bug whatsoever, very fast and very stable. Just try it.:fingers-crossed:

I've used makios's rom more than others and also in my opinion the best out of all the moded ICS roms.
But it also has some bugs in sense apps, such as sense mail and friends and facebook and wifi connection is effected by these bugs.
Anyway the mwakious thread is the place to talk about that...
I'm still downloading the RUU_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.28.401 .1_Radio_11.7...its a slow file server

Try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732984

Radio question

Hey all!
I rooted my phone quite a while ago and have been running das_bamf_remix_1.7 and am thinking of switching to a different rom, the only thing is that I see all these requirements for mr2 or 2.5... and my question is, do these usually come with the rom? If not, what are the best steps for flashing these radios and what exactly do they do?
Thanks guys.
Hi, that is exactly what I was trying to figure out too.
Can the radios be updated independent to ROMs?
I am currently at rooted stock rom.
Should I install the radio to, say MR2, and the install the custom ROM?
Thanks for your help!
The radios do not normally come with the ROM's and would need to be updated separate using the HBOOT process. GB would need the MR2 or MR2.5, Froyo would use the MR1 radios. I don't have the links right now to point to the radios but if you search here you will find them pretty quickly.
Here is a link for some info on the radio's.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045081&highlight=radio
Thanks alot! I think I was able to install both the custom rom and the radio (in that order).
I wish if someone could help a bit more...

fooooo - Yes you are correct with the rom then the radio flash. As far as the bricking, did you brick or are you just curious about it bricking?
I am completely stock but flashed the mr2 update.. reboots have completely stopped but my signal and 3g (currently not in 4g area) are extremely slow.. although they appear to be slower while pdanet v3.0 tethering.. any info or advice?
Also can anyone point me to a thread that lets me go back to completely stock
Thanks
The bricking issues seem to have subsided since the release of the MR2 radio. I think it was suspected that the original leaked GB radio initiated the bricks.
krime - As far as running MR2 on stock I would imagine that the problem is that MR2 & 2.5 are for the GB-based ROMs (and das bamf 1.8.6) and as such won't work with stock froyo. But I haven't been on stock for a while so maybe somebody else knows for sure.

Ok so basically download the stock firmware and exploits, when it gets to the adb commands (from the above on) im lost... Do I download the sdk starter package on android sdk website or? A complete guide-for-dummies would be appreciated
I am coming from 1-click DroidX so my rooting ability is negligible.. however because MR2 apparently does not belong on stock froyo.. I kinda have to in order to go back to complete stock.
I would of posted in the dev forum but I havent met the minimum required posts lol

It looks like it's working fine!
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't on the bad combination of ROM and radio that could brick the phone.
Glad it seems fine. Thnx!

First: Don't post questions in the dev forum. I know you didn't, but you said you would have if you had enough posts. Only development of hacks and ROMS and such belong there just FYI. As to your question, J-Case's root tutorial that is stickied in the dev forum has an easy ADB installer. Use that it's the easiest way to get ADB up and running. Search XDA and Google for tutorials on how to use ADB. I don't have links, but its pretty easy to find the info. Once you have done that go to the dev forum and look for J-Case's sticky thread on how to properly return to stock. This should get you back on totally stock unrooted MR1.

[Q] Rooting new Gingerbread leaked ROMS

Sorry for the n00b question. I have rooted and ROM'ed quite a few times, but I haven't messed with my new Thunderbolt much. I tried a few of the roms, but I wasn't really happy with any of them, so I reverted back to stock. Anyway, I want to give the new 2.11.605.0 Gingerbread ROM leak a try, but I haven't been really following these leaks much.
I know how to root and how to load the ROM, but is there a way to root these Gingerbread leaks? Is there an easy way to revert back to stock so I can get the real release when it goes OTA? If anyone has any links they could send me, that'd be great.
Thanks, appreciate it ahead of time!

There are only a few stock nonrooted ruus out there. If u know how to flash a rom, then just go to the development section n poke around til u see a rom u like. There's also a few threads on how to revert to stock if/when needed. Football n DroidTh3ory just released the new 2.11 w a few version (rooted/deodexed/debloated etc)
Ah, yes. Been fiddling around since I posted this. Saw the new Revolutionary rooting method too, which is nice. Just saw they posted all those new versions. This is what I need. Thanks for the reply!
fairly new to the rooting process myself, the eris was my first android and rooted that running cyanogen, but it crapped out on me because i had an issue with the trackball. at any rate...
i've rooted my tb and have been having more and more force close issues, sometimes causing me to miss an alarm in the morning. no fun. i'd like to run the latest 2.11 ruu deodexed so i can theme it, i know i like to tweak with the appearance. currently just running stock sense with a root, no other mods, but i am curious if i flash 2.11, which radio(s) should i have? i've seen screen shots where it appears a person has 2 radios, i've seen posts with links to 2-in-1 radios for the lte/cdma networks and i've seen posts where ppl say to mix and match.
basically, i'd like to run something stable, fast and smooth without having to set extra alarm clocks! initially i rooted so i'd be able to take advantage of wireless tethering, but i'd like to do a bit more with it. could someone please advise??

I think I'm correct in saying that if it says "RUU" its an .exe file so it can be added without rooting. I have the 211 RUU and it installed without rooting. You cn use the Revolutionary method for s-off and it also roots your phone if you want to. However, I think there is no way of going back to s-on once you use revolutionary method.

[Q] ICS Upgrade from GB

I have a GSM EVO 3d (From Rogers). I am currently on Leedroid 5.3 Rom and Kernel.
I want to update to ICS (Finally...). I am S-off and i have 4ext running.
I have done a nandroid with 4ext and TI backup.
My questions begin here:
What do I need to do because i have Lee's kernel. Will Flashing just the new Firmware be enough, then just wipe dalvik, data and cache, and flash my new ICS ROM.
While im here I might as well ask, since we just got an official update. are a lot of the roms going to get updated and change significantly faster now. or is it still a waiting game for the release of the kernel source?
relock the phone, flash the stock recovery and flash the original ruu. you'll be able to upgrade after that. all the best:good:
Concerning your 2nd question: I think for sense based Roms, business will go on as usual, so we can expect new spin-offs of the popular Roms soon. But with CM9, aosp, et cetera it wont be easier now.
What does aosp mean again?

Huh? why would I want to relock my phone. I just want to flash an aftermarket ROM like cool sense 3.6.
I dont want the official ICS...
Why would you even suggest I relock my phone? even If i did want the regular official ICS (which I dont) I would not need to lock my phone.
To make it absolutely clear I have s-off and full root, and refuse to lose that. so if you dont know what your talking about carry on and dont reply.

I saw that, terrible telling you to update hboot. from the OTA.
Anryls thread firmware is stripped of recovery and hboot. http://d-h.st/9Po Install it, remove sd card, go into recovery, pop in sd.
Then just format all partitions except sd card in 4ext, wipe dalvich, install new ICS Rom.
You'll keep recovery, hboot and s off.
For OC kernels we will need source. :sly:

Newest firmware does not erase data, make a backup in 4ext in case you want to go back to gb.
As for why removing sd.
After flashing firmware, if you cant get into recovery, you hold volume down and hit power, the ICS firmware will try to auto flash again. So by removing sd you can scroll down to recovery in hboot, boot into 4ext, put sd card back, then flash your ICS Rom.
That firmware is based on the latest official ripped version, not leaked or test versions that have been around the last month or so.

I dont recommend you just flash the OTA. If you are rooted, you would either end up with a boot loop or lose your root.
If you are rooted, update your FW and flash one of the many ICS roms available in the GSM section.

[Q] Install ICS OTA Update Rogers

Hey guys, the OTA update from rogers HTC Evo 3D ICS has been released and i would like to up date my phone. The problem is that im running LeeDroid_3D_V5.4 and it doesn't seam to have a software update option in the settings menu.
So my question is, for me to get this update, must i restore my phone back to the original software using the Rogers RUU that i have downloaded?
Thanks, Peter
I am in the same boat here.
Everyone always says when you have root you shouldn't update your phone, just wait a little while and the devs will upload a version that you can flash without losing root.
Well I have yet to see this happen, it has been like a week since the ICS update and all the devs are using a still updating roms with a cluster**** of random leaks and bases.
Can someone just upload the stock rogers ICS rom so I can flash it without losing root and not having to flash back to my stock RUU?
I mean if we have all these versions of the official rom why are you guys still using leaks at all?
Check out Virtuous Shooter, it's pretty close to stock and most of the changes are performance related anyways.
PS A lot of the ROMs aren't using leaks anymore...

From my understanding, to take the OTA, you must relock your phone and then run the RUU. I would just wait until one of the talented devs builds a ROM based on the OTA because it will be much better anyway.
Ok. Thanks a lot everyone for there imput , I am thinking ill just hold out untill a stock Rogers ICS is released rather then do all that work to just have to reroot and probably end up installing another ics Rom over it anyways. I'm thinking this will be by King Cobra Roms as he always dose stock roms, so ill see what he comes up with. I am really looking forward to features in 4.0 and 4.1 . So hopefully they can get there buts in gear , put out a nice Rom, and ill buy them a few coffees and a pizza Thanks again everyone , have a good one !

is it safe to upgrade to ICS?

HI
I have a question regarding ICS update. since I have not rooted phone yet and i am stll using stock firmware(rom). my question is if I update to the official ics release will I be able to root it and install custom roms in the future? I am asking this because I am worried that by updating it might update it self to baseband to newer version that cannot be rooted.
Can you please confirm that its safe for me to update so I will be able to modifiy in the future?(bear in mind i have not moddified anything yet(basedand bootloader rom etc and i will want to do these in near future after i read enough tutorials)

It's safe to upgrade to ICS 4.0.3, because I have done it when I got my EVO 3D, then unlocked & root successfully! So don't worry, but anyway, 2.3.x is more easy to unlock, root & s-off, because my 4.0.3 phone can't be S-OFF.

Much better to unlock bootloader, root the phone go s-off and flash custom roms. The upgrade will change your HBoot which limits your options.

To add to what zcink said, if you have patience, the VM leak custom Roms will all incorporate or realign to the Sprint ota once it's released. The ics we run now through custom Roms is most likely better now than what Sprint will push out and definitely will be better once the customs realign. We just need HTC to release source for better kernels.

JB isn't even in Alpha stages for GSM users.
OP, if you want to upgrade to ICS, use a custom ROM as said before.
Once your HBoot gets upgraded, you'll have a lot of trouble in an attempt to root again.
Plus, custom ROMs are better!
