I tried using hiemdall suite to flash my kernel entered the command hiemdall suite flash --kernel zImage everything worked as far as installing the CWM and I can boot to the CWM recovery screen and download mode but not directly to a ROM i get stuck at the yellow triangle screen. I put cyogenmod 9 on my sd card and named it update.zip then went to recovery mode and mounted my sd card. I selected to option apply update from /sdcard/update.zip and it didnt work any ideas to get me back on track?

Get into CWM, hit install zip from SDcard and then if you put it in internal storage go to choose zip from internal sdcard and if you put it on your regular sd card choose zip from sdcard. Then just find the .zip file and select it. After its flashed wipe data.

First try what ninja said...in CWM try both "install zip from sd card" and "install zip from internal sd card".
If you still cannot find it, it sounds like you just misplaced the zip file. Try downloading it again, make sure you place it in the root of the external sd card, and then from CWM select install zip from sd card.

Which version of cwm are you using? Maybe flash the most recent recovery again. I prefer romracers.
Tonight I was trying to install clockworkmod touch on my Prime, and when I was trying to get into fastboot, I made the mistake of selecting the data wipe option, then setting it down to go do something else for a while. As of now, it will not get past the screen that says "ASUS powered by NVIDIA blah blah blah". I can get into CWM just fine, as well as fastboot, but I dont have anything to flash since my memory was wiped. I've tried a million and one things to get it to work, and I still can't find anything. Can someone help me?

read the person's above, seems like a hard brick from the thread he linked.
Since you can get into cwm, you could just download a custom rom place it on your micro sd and then install the custom rom onto your device.
To me it seems that you just wiped the rom on your device, so it has nothing to boot from.
I have not done any rooting or install on my prime yet, but I've been have encounter this similar problem on my htc sensation where it would just have a boot loop. I fix it by reinstalling a rom.
The problem I'm having with flashing a ROM from my micro sd card is that i can't get cwm to see my sd card.

Ah sorry didn't verify before my previous post. I think if you boot into fastboot mode, and use adb to push a zip to your sdcard would work.
If its not mounting, if the kernel/cwm has the option 'mounts' or 'mass storage' like the glitch kernels cwm has for the galaxy captivate, you can go in the n click on 'mount sd' or whatever.... it might not be mounting right away so u could try that to get it mounted

I've tried using adb while the Prime is in fastboot, and adb won't recognize it. Fastboot sees it, but it cant push files. I tried "fastboot update rom.zip" and it gives me this error
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
The issue was resolved by installing the universal drivers located in post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502, then using adb to push CM9 and installing via CWM. Since Fastboot was "working" it seemed that adb should also work, but it didn't with the ASUS drivers.

i know this has been solved but FYI, to get adb to see INTERNAL SDCARD (CWM doesn't support EXTERNAL SDCARD), just go to Install Zip from sdcard, Choose zip from sdcard while usb is connected. Now push the file.
After it's finished, go to your prime, back to Install Zip from sdcard, and again into Choose Zip from sdcard. The zip should be there.
Hello All!
I purchased a new Nook Tablet 16 a few weeks ago and I want to restore it to factory settings.
Currently my NT16 has CM7 installed. I used the "boot from SD card" method to install CM7 and everything worked great so that's what I have running on my NT16.
Prior to installing CM7 I made a full backup of my NT16. When I made this backup I got the following files:
boot.img
cache.ext4.tar
data.ext4.tar
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
system.ext4.tar
The thing that I am confused about is when I boot into recovery to flash a new rom it always asks for a .ZIP file and, as you can see from my file list above, I don't have any .ZIP.
So my question is, how to I recover my NT16 to factory settings given the files I have above? Do I just zip them up and use that?
Thanks!! :victory:
Use the "backup and restore" menu item, then navigate to folder with the date that you created the backup.

I am currently using the Win32DiskImager.exe to make a boot disk and I am going to boot using this disk. When I boot and get the menu will it have an option to "backup and restore?"
Thanks!
Yes, I believe that's the same option you chose to create the backup.

Ok I created the bootable SD card and I got the CWM Recovery menu. I put the SD card with all my backup files in the NT and when I hit Restore it says: "Couldn't open directory. No files found.".
The other question I have is this....
When I create the boot disk using Win32DiskImager do I also put my backup stuff on that same disk? Or do I bootup using the SD card with CMR on it then take out that SD card and put another SD card in, the one that has my backup files?
Thanks!
Is the SD card mounted?
EDIT: You could switch cards if you wanted, but why not do it the easy way? Transfer your Nandroid backup to the /mnt/media partition, then choose "restore from internal SD".

I bootup using the SD card with the CMR on it and do a "hot" switch of the SD card with the one that has my recover stuff. When I put the SD card in it doesn't automatically mount it?
By the way, does anyone else HATE how B&N made their SD card slot? You have to open that little flap on the corner and it's such a pain in the butt to put the SD card in!
Yeah, the SD slot is a pain, especially if you have a case on the NT.
And if you're not sure if the card is mounted, just go to the "mounts and storage" menu option and see what it says about /sdcard.

In the Mounts and Storage menu it lists /sdcard and /sd-ext. Which one is the SD card?
I tried both and when I choose mount /sdcard it works but when I choose mount /sd-ext it doesn't (it says "error mounting /sd-ext")
That's because you don't have a /sd-ext to mount. /sdcard is your microSD card.
Can I put all my recovery files on the same SD card that is made using Win32DiskImager or is it standard procedure to hot swap to another SD card that has your recovery files?

Well, the I guess my SD card is mounted because when I choose the option to mount /sdcard I don't get any failure notices. However, when I go back to recovery I still get the error that it can't find any files. :crying:
Well, I don't really think there's any standard procedure, just whatever you think is easier. Have you touched the original "clockworkmod" folder since you made the backup?

Touched? What do you mean (sorry)?
Touched, changed, modified? Sorry, probably not a good word to use.
Just to clarify I am going to list the exact procedure I am doing and you guys let me know if everything seems okay:
1. Using Win32DiskImager.exe create the bootable disk with the image cwm_sd_flashing_boot.img using SD Card A
2. Format another SD Card (lets call it SD Card B) using Windows using quick format
3. Copy my backup files to SD Card B
- boot.img
- cache.ext4.tar
- data.ext4.tar
- nandroid.md5
- recovery.img
- system.ext4.tar
4. Boot the NT16 by holding down the power button and the N button until the unit powers on and then off
5. Put SD Card A in the NT16 and boot
6. Wait until CWM Recovery menu appears
7. Take out SD Card A and put in SD Card B (without rebooting or anything)
8. In the CWM Recovery menu choose Restore
9. Should be success at this point but I get the file not found error

Actually, I am a UNIX guru and I know what touched means because touch is a command that, among other things, creates a file. I just didn't know if that's where you were coming from too.
You need to keep those recovery files inside the folder in which they were created.

In CWM v6.1.0.4 downloaded with Alpha 2 it does not have external sdcard option.
I resolved with CWM v6.1.0.5 which comes with Alpha 3. :good:
Used Sideload option, since it doesn't see any external sdcard as well!
