I got problems with the usb on my Xperia X10i. Everytime I connect the device to the computer it only charges the phone and nothing else; the computer says "unkown device" . I tried installing the drivers, pc companion, SE update....i've tried even rooting with superone click or flashing with flashtool but it doesn't recognize the device at all...
Oh, and something else, when I connect the phone to the computer it doesn't even display the message to chose the option ( mass storage, only charging, etc) and I can't even find Usb connectivity on phone.

Hey refldo
- When you connect mobile in flash mode to flashtool, doesn't recognize it?
- for usb storage check the following attachment by going to settings, storage, menu button, USB storage

To root the phone you need to turn on the ANDROID DEBUGGING in your settings.. go to settings->apps->development->USB/ANDROID DEBUGGING.... now flashtool should recognize your phone... also install drivers present in the flashtool folder....

After I did that, in sony's pc companion when I connect the phone it shows for 2 seconds "searching for phone" and after that "no phone connected".

There is this step where it asks me to turn of the phone, hold the back key and plug in the usb cable...but nothing happens ( only the pop up message "USB device tot recognized" )
just to know, Only happens with your computer? Or with all computers that you tried to connect?
Refldo.. I think you need to install drivers again but remove drivers which are already installed... it looks more n more driver issue....

I've tried on different computers with the different usb cables, so I don't think that's the problem.

Have some issues when i try to connect my xpreia to the pc. It used to work perfectly but now the pc doesnt recognize it, and my phone doesnt recognize thats its connected via usb so no options available. I restored phone settings and my card is formated , just incase i did something wrong but still no luck.
Some help would be appreciated, thanks for your time
try to turn off and take out the battery for about 10secs, and put it back again and reboot, try to connect it back to ur pc, open cmd and try this command
adb devices 'to see whether it detects our phone or not'
I think u should take ur phone to mainteance service. Thats not a typical problem.
Flash it using seus update. You can download it from sony official site.
Sent from my U20i using XDA Premium App
adb devices doest seem to be a valid cmd command.
And from what i understand seus needs to have a connection with my phone to update but thats the problem i cant connect it with pc.
thanks anyway guess think i ll visit maintanance service

And why should you bother with adb?
Just flash it using seus update. Download it and follow the step by step.
Turn off your and take out the battery. Ready your seus update, now follow the step. Put ur batt in but dont switch on, press and hold the back button and plug in ur usb to the phone.
When the LED light is green then you are good to go. It should work and ready to download the firmware needed for you x10 mini/pro.

I've experienced the same thing before, I cant connect my x10 to pc, and it cant detect at all when the hp is connected. So I just flash using seus updates. Since the same method doesnt help you at all. Im sorry.

Have you installed the sync program for your phone? If so ensure it is NOT running and try then as it will grab the USB ports before you try using adb and fastboot.

i dont have the sync program of sony. and its still doesnt work.
You may be as well to uninstall all drivers for phone, reboot your system and install drivers afresh, even connect phone and in your systems device manager remove the phone device from your system.
Sometimes drivers can get cross references when installing multiple times

Try to reinstall the drivers flash tool needs to recognize your phone.
If that didn't work, try another PC or another Windows. Sometimes the problem is pc, not the phone.

the second method u followed must work try again to disable driver signature enforcement and install the drivers if it shows the same error
try referring this page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff544842(v=vs.85).aspx
it explains about "Driver Package Installer (DPInst)".
What mode do you want to connect your phone? Mtp, fastboot or flash? If mtp mode its easy.. Just go to device manager and expand the usb controller you will see 1 or more "usb composite devices" listed there.. Just uninstalled every driver as that name and while you're doing it make sure your phone connected to pc in the beginning.. After uninstall succesfull just refresh device manager and it will automatically install a new driver.. Hope it help..
If it still cant recognized just reboot your pc with phone still connected to pc..
