Hello guys, I would know if it's possible to make some app to always keep running for lowering the time access to that app...
I'm talking about "basic" phone app, so phone, sms, and whatsapp;
Dunno, maybe with some init.d or various script, I would prefer to avoid another app xD
Any help?
thank you.
This it?

So yeah, Timescape is not updating my phone calls. At all. It just always says "No events". My messages all show fine.
I haven't connected to FB or twitter & disabled them in Timescape since I don't really care about all that stuff, is that the problem? That would be ridiculous but I don't see why else it's not working.
BTW I'm on Wolfbreak's 2.3.3 with hotfix 5
that's because timescape sucks... wish i could be more help...

Are you using a task killer, set to kill Eventstream service maybe?

You are aware that only missed calls get displayed? You don't get to see accepted calls

Wolfbreak has implemented some tweaks to the internal task killer and other things but I am not using anything else.

Hm, didn't know that but not even missed calls are shown.
*edit- I tried to thank both of you but I have used up my thanks for the day (limited to 5?!), I'll do it properly later
I have been using the Favorite People/Recent Call Widget from the Arc dump and it does about all I need so I may just uninstall Timescape,FB,& Eventstream. Does anyone know if that would adversely effect any other apps?

No, you should be OK.
I always prefer to freeze apps with Titanium instead of deleting them though, just in case!
Im using Wolfbreak hotfix 7 and is still doing the freeze, it happends after you turn off the screen, all the cells no update, facebookm foursquare, everything freeze, whith the stock 2.3.3 happends the same? maybe i'll go to the stock :s
I need an app that will let me block Wifi for certain apps.
Lets say I have Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter, I want my Wifi to be on, but I only want to let Whatsapp use the Wifi connection. Is this possible?
Thanks!

I think "tasker" can let you do that but its quite a learning curve if you haven't used it before.

I think droidwall will do this.
Doesn't the phone switch off data connection when Wi-Fi is active though?

I do similar stuff using "Tasker".
Thanks. That was a good questions and really helpful answers.
I was wondering the same and Ill try out your suggestions...
Hopefully Ill figure out how to use them correctly
Does anyone have any tasker profiles for this? I use messengers like whatsapp and kik and while on the go I'd like to disable my data for everything else but only allow these apps to work. If I could do that, I feel like my battery life would more than double. If anyone could come up with a profile I would be so grateful! I'm no good at making tasker profiles on my own or I would do it myself.
Hi,
I have installed the AOSP gallery onto my phone to sort the super laggy gallery app on the GS3, but
my final issue is with the 2 second load time on the Phone and messaging apps when they have been
killed and reloaded in the phone.
I have seen the multitasking fix mod thread, but it doesnt work.
Anyway way to keep those apps in memory so they don't take ages to load? OOM Priority maybe?
Many thanks,
Biff.
Why do you keep killing them from memory?

He doesn't, android does it.
ExDialer would solve the phone and contact issue.
It keeps the phone in memory.
As for message, try Go Sms Pro.
It's launch time is very fast.

Yeah I was using those but themes don't usually have icons for those apps and gosms is pretty laggy
I had hoped devs would be able to lock those apps in memory like the homescreen but doesn't seem so
which is why i'm on AOKP rom now, the messaging app and phone app are far superior.
^
set the GO sms to run in LITE mode. pretty snappy for me
Edit build.prop and add line
sys.keep_app_1=com.example.app(replace com.example.app)
and sys.keep_app_2=com.example.app for the next app. Hope it helps
Hi everyone,
I've had an issue for a while now that i just realized was a problem. After seeing my girlfriends phone getting instant notifications for snapchat, Facebook, foursquare, and others, while i have to go into those apps to see if anything new has happened, i realize my phone is not working correctly.
I have the elegancia rom, on att, and as far as i can tell every setting in my phone is set to allow them.
Does anyone know why this would be happening? Or suggestions on how to fix or troubleshoot it?
This is very frustrating.

It is because your phone is in deep sleep to save battery when your screen is off. There is an app called "Push Notification Fixer" that solves the problem. I have used it for months, and it's great, it doesn't seem to affect battery life significantly
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5hbmRxbGltYXgucHVzaGZpeGVyIl0.
Would it be in deep sleep even if I'm using the phone? I mean, let's say I'm actively using my phone for an hour. And my friend snapchats me or posts on facebook during that time. i still won't get it unless i open the app.
I tried using push notification fixer for like a day and didn't notice a difference. Does it take time to take effect?
Would juice defender cause any issues with this? I use it daily on the lowest setting.
Also, does auto sync need to be enabled?

Alright, as of now, i have auto sync on. I disabled Juice Derfender, i checked and made sure background data is enabled on apps, checked to make sure notifications are enabled on apps, and also made sure restrict mobile data was unchecked. And i have Push Notifications Fixer installed and running.
Still no luck.
After talking with an htc tech guy. He pointed out that the notification settings are in the privacy menu.
On the elegancia rom there is no privacy menu option in the settings. Maybe this is why?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
ist under Security menu
What setting is it? What should i be looking for? The only settings i have under security in regard to notifications are for the lock screen.

I also have this problem with facebook, no notifications at all Tried several methods, also from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174391
Currently i have Paranoid Rom on my S3
Edit: Okay, now they are working...
What I have observed is that juice defender / dx battery booster etc do not disable all the settings properly when disabled. So it might be (a possibility) - that it has screwed up your settings.
I am also on Elegancia ROM. ofcourse I have autosync on as well as PNF installed. For me it takes hardly a gap of 2 seconds when I get a notification on my mobile & desktop....
May be you can try to uninstall juicedefender (Check if there is any setting to reset the changes or not before uninstalling).
And one advise - I am not sure about you, but I found all these battery saving apps useless
Hmmmm. Ok. Well, i just switched to the Venom rom and i am experiencing the same issue. I went ahead and uninstalled juice defender completely.
Is there a by lasting settings that could be messed up from it even after uninstalling it?
I'm really on my last nerve. My phone feels crippled and u can't figure out why...

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't even know how to troubleshoot this issue any further... I'm really bummed out because i love this phone. I just wish it worked the way it is supposed to.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
I fixed it! I still don't know exactly what the culprit was but i know it was some system setting that had gotten messed up. It kept following me from rom to rom because i used titanium backup to backup and restore system settings.
I ended up doing a fresh install of viper and installed snapchat first thing. I instantly got a push notification. I proceeded to install all the backups of my other apps and manually at all my phone settings again.
Thanks for all the help everyone!

Same Issue
I have the can you please help me fix i
Hi,
I already installed a custom ROM in my S3 but after noticing that it was slow I unrooted and came back to the stock ROM. The problem is that the phone is always slow.
For example, when I turn wifi on, sometimes it takes 10 minutes to show me the emails and in general to show me all notifications that it has to show.
When I click the browser, it's also slow to show the keyboard for example.
This kind of behaviour is the same all over the phone.
My question is if someone knows what is going on and what can be done and if there's some way to know what's happening in the background. Maybe it's some app that I have installed?
Any help would be appreciate. Thanks.
Have you installed apps that control startups, wakelocks or claim to make your device run better?
If so, undo the lot.

Hi, thanks for your help.
I don't think I have those kind of apps but I uninstalled some that I have and noticed that the phone is faster. So maybe it was some app that was causing that.
It would be great to check the system itself, how it's running. Is there a way to do it?
System monitor or perfmon.
