So this will be a thread for on-screen buttons for different ROMs, and possibly some other mods I have in mind..
I will divide it into 3 posts, 1st post is for MIUI, 2nd is for CM9 and the third post is for CM10.
It will be updated regularly when new ROM versions is released.
And remember, your feedback is my motivation :highfive: :good:
Always make a backup of the files which are replaced (mainly framework-res.apk).
From now on if you want on-screen buttons: post in this thread and tell me which ROM and version (for example: FXP 135 CM9.1) and upload framework-res.apk. When I have time I will mod it.
As always I am not responsible for bricked devices and so on..

Nice ports. You could do a section for stock ROM mods too
I would like to have the WP7 recent apps on it
Works great on miui 2.8.10!
Just on question, can i somehow change places on the buttons and make them smaller?
Thanks!

Maybe if it gets easier to modify franework-res. Not sure how binary diff works when I modify more than one line..

Not change places but you can edit the icons located in MiuiSystemUI.apk. Also to make the navbar shorter edit framework-res.apk.

So i can re-map the keys somehow then?
I want to have it like original (back, home, multitask and options only when there are any available.)

No, not that I know. Better to just live with it
I dont intend to seem ungrateful or anything with these followup questions but the layout that i have right now isnt the Android original so sid you change anything that COULD change their place?
Id like to check in to this but i dont really know where to look so perhaps you can point me to the right direction and ill compare to my Nexus?
Thanks

That's right, you're running MIUI, with MIUIs layout and look. As I said before you can change the icons in MiuiSystemUI.apk, but it won't rearrange the actual functions of the keys.

First I would like to start with saying that I hope that this is in the correct section and the reason being is there is not "Apps and Themes" section for the TouchPad. If someone believes it belongs in General then go ahead and move it. I made this theme for the fact that I just do not like the way GB looks on the TouchPad and the stock buttons are just not well blended. I will be working on this in my spare time as I already have a few themed items for other devices I have to keep up with. I will take requests into consideration.
This theme requires the ADW Ice Cream Sandwich theme that can be found in the Android Market by kovdev. It is ONLY required if you are looking to have the application icons as well as the launcher themed at this time. I plan on making this a part of the theme in the future.

*Note* This is an extremely Alpha Theme, which means that it will not be 100% complete at all. There are tons of things that need to be themed. Please do not supply feedback about something that isn't themed until I move out to an official release or possibly Beta of this theme. It will cut down on some clutter, if any.
Thanks
Thanks to the CyanogenMod Team for making a solid port for our TouchPads!

- Some Framework Themed
Currently based off of Beta 3.5 but should work with older versions but note you will be updating to the 3.5 framework in doing so. Flash on non compatible versions at your own risk.
Future place for addons.
Looks pretty good. Installed on 3.5 and no probs so far. Except which might not be from this but i cant stretch widgets across the whole screen in landscape. Maybe it has nothing to do with this but i did not have this prob before. Going to try this on XRON B2.1
---------- Post added at 08:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:50 AM ----------
There appears to be no problems running this with XRON B2.1 either
It must have something to do with the ICS theme on ADW? or an ADW setting? I didn't change nothing but images so what I did couldn't have effected stretching.
Thanks for the feedback.
Is it compatible with xron?
I just put this on my new touchpad and it definitely relieved my desire for ICS (for the time being) Seems to be working very well with no reported errors as of yet.

Hi, just to confirm it does work fine with current Xron build.
Just wish we had an alpha ofthereal ICS.. I'm running an version on my mobile (moto defy) and the only issue I have is camera. Iwonder how long to will see a working version on the touchpad.

It should still work, but the theme is based on stock 3.5 Beta so any tweaks made in xron's framework would no longer be present.

It is very possible but I kind of like the way the black blends in and isn't very noticeable with some apps or videos. With the blue line you can deff see it there.

It seems that everybody is quite busy theming ROMs, and since I am stucked with using stock ROM, I wanted to have those like found in MIUI and the default ICS status bars. I kinda want my clock to be in center and etc. I presume that I might load up Kitchen just to customize, but it seems that I can't find my preference on the said tool. Any suggestions?

And dont worry abt background and the the status bar bottom and top. I made the top visible so that you can see and background white so that you cannot see the main idea that is behind it of "miu-y rom". Everything will be changed except for the buttons.

Silvane, I presume that I'll be using ADB for the edit, right?
Andro, so will it be a full MIUI port or just a ROM somewhat based off MIUI? Kinda fancy having MIUI.
Example of how my status bar would be like:

It's a nice idea. I've downloaded it before and it was too buggy. :/
Took me a while to get it off as it kept making my phone freeze. But do try, he might have fixed bugs already. Also I think it doesn't work well with LDPI.
Btw what theme was the screenshot above? Those icons are nice.
The ones you have asked review about looks good. Yes we can make it. But the thing is that the toggles will be up instead of down. All you have to do is reduce size of background of toggles and the toggles as well. I bet this is a 14 toggled lidroid. (we will still use lidroid). Reduce toggle size and background size from both, the lidroid-res.apk and systemui.apk.

But i will say that will be too small as we are having an idpi phone and screen is already too small. So better keep it big.

Yes. A little bit like cm. What we can do is make the background of toggles rectangular (like in creeds v2.5 and cyanogenmod7) and then small down buttons. This way we can increase the press area (you will press what you want. If we keep it too small, we will press "data" button instead of wifi and lose money). This way we will also have toggles and the height will be small as well.

as in my opinion
the.ones satusbar tweaks
you should do some homework to get the codes work on sgy
and about the toggles I am in somthing like switches I am kindaimpressed with them as the screen size is small we cant fit everything in it
cheers!

Some suggestions:
- Automatic calculations (no need for a "calculate" button)
- Kernel detection or number of frequencies detection (if it's possible), but keeping the frequecies selector
- Autodetect cpu frequencies, but keep them editable

Hello guys,
I have been away lately because I'm studying Android dev, so I may be able to help other devs here and there. While I love CM10 performance and design, sadly I need some stuffs that only CM7 have at the moment, so I figured I would make CM7 looks like CM10.
Right now I'm trying to write a little MOD to make that possible, but since I'm not a dev yet, I'm looking for tweaks that can do that. For the first version I plan to install a JB theme, a JB like launcher (Holo, maybe?), JB keyboard and so on... but I will also study how they made it, so I can make my own and improve it, if possible. For example, it would be nice to have a JB THD keyboard on CM7.
So, does anyone know tweaks that makes CM7 looks like CM10? I could not find any theme here at XDA or at Google Play, but there must be one somewhere, since I saw a Defy with CM7 that looked like CM10 a while ago. Tweaks like status bar, themes, fonts, the best launcher and so on... if you know any, please share
When I have everything ready, I will sure share it with everyone. Thanks in advance.
There is a CM7, ICS THeme and have ICS launcher too, and ICS Keyboard too... all in Google Play!!
if you have some issue, send me a MP or add me in facebook

* Apply my theme and restart
If that doesn't works -
* Download a Resolution (DPI) changer app like this
* Open the app and change DPI to 240 and reboot
* Apply theme
* Change DPI back to 160 and reboot again.
Please note -
The notification bar time-date, settings and clear button are not included in the theme. To get that you have to patch your system files. For more details visit this thread.
Also, the dialer is a JB style modded Phone.apk which you can get by flashing this zip or make your own patch (recommended) using JBPhone_Patcher

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I don't have an Atrix anymore. I traded it for an S2 and later, traded the S2 for a Galaxy Nexus to work on the Ubuntu for phones (I'm a Ubuntu LoCo Team leader).
I will try to find the files I was using and share it later, so if someone want to take the dev over, be my guest

This is 100% theme related and probably due to fact that the theme supports many different types of ROMS with relation to icons and xml code,
not all items may be present on every ROM. You will have no adverse effects from this. Just hit ok and continue on.
I'll update this post as issues/fixes arise.

I don't see them either.
And can someone refresh my memory on what the AOKP "ribbons" are?

From what I can tell, the lockscreen allow you to add custom buttons to the lockscreen, notifications menu, and quick settings with 2 functions per button. (short press and long press)
I'm really liking this ROM so far. I'll update as time progresses...

Do you know if there is a keyboard that has the "compact" key setup? I can't find any that have that option that are compatible with aokp
