ICS 4.0.4 and root - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello every body,
I am new in this forum of XDA but not in android.
I have updated my Galaxy tab 10.1 wifi+3g to ICS (Italian version) with Odin, perfet and the tablet work very fine, it is a new one.
My problem is that I want to root the tablet but all the methods that I founded (XDA, Htcmania, ...) don't work
I tried ;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185 (both versions, oldest and the last one posted yesterday) don't work.
http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=250673, don't work.
I have the recovery CWM 4.0.4
I can't post this message in the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185 because I am new and XDA don't let me to post anything in part for Roms and development (logical ), but I was looking for all teh forums and I don't found any solution.
Any one knows the solution??
Thanks
PD. when I flash the root file I have the USB Debug unchecked (as explained in the threads)

This is not just for SE. If you scroll down to the second post it will show you all the phones this method works for... including Galaxy W I8150.
Just download the files and follow the instructions... connect phone to computer, makes sure usb debugging is active, run the .exe file.... blah, blah, blah. The instructions are all in the thread.
Hope this helps

E. Rooting for 2.3.3/2.3.4/2.3.5/2.3.6/2.3.7 (Thanks to russian forum-user with nickname may213) (if it doesn't work try D method):
1) Download attached file called upd_1.zip and copy it to your sdcard
2) Turn off your phone
3) Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
4) Select update from sdcard, select the file upd_1.zip
5) After the update completed - reboot
6) Now you have rooted S5830

Allegedly??? LOLwut?
Read this:
In recent years it has become common for speakers to include allegedly in statements that are controversial or possibly even defamatory. The implication is that, by saying allegedly , the speaker is distancing himself or herself from the controversy and even protecting himself or herself from possible prosecution. However, the effect created may be deliberate. The use of allegedly can be a signal that, although the statement may seem outrageous, it is in fact true. Conversely, it is also possible to use allegedly as an expression of ironic scepticism.

Hi jithendra194,
if you already flashed the clockworkmode this could be the problem!
I know a friend who had to flash stockrecovery again, before rooting his device.
Rooting wasn't possible by using the clockworkmode, but with stock recovery rooting was successfully
So you can try flashing the stock recovery first (from here) and after it you should flash the upd_1.zip (from here)
Good luck

I used the method described n the first video in the following link and rot was smooth. I'd suggest running the mentioned script and ref lash CMW in Odin.

Questions go in the Q&A section - not the Dev section
Gonna have to be this guy: This thread belongs in the Q and A section of this forum not the development section. This section is for posting ROMs Kernels and other dev related material. There is a thread furthur down the page describing the root process for the ICS OTA update. Please use search before posting.

Iv rooted my s3 using cf root 6.4 ( not auto). Its on 4.1.1. now i know that 4.1.2 is out i really like the multi tasking feature and really want to update.
The only thing is that i want to unroot know but im not sure where to start. iv read up on this site to unroot s3 i9300 (galaxys3root) and i want to go back to stock firmware. I want everything gone also the root(supersu, cwm manager also the aptoide and stuff like that. Basically so the warranty is intact again.
the method shown is it good and is it compatible with the way i have rooted? Galaxys3root
since my phone is branded to 3 network in uk can i install unbranded firmware so the 3 start up sign goes away or shall i stick to same firmware.
Appreciate the help the people give on here. Thanx alot

i9305 rooting error

Hi guys,
First of all thank you for all the awesome tips and tricks here, I really learned a lot from the community.
I have a samsung i9305 which I recently purchased to replace my i9300.
I downloaded super su and busy box to my phone but then they didn't work because my phone wasn't rooted (stupid me, i forgot)
so I tried rooting it using this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914394
and followed each and every instruction perfectly but then my phone wasn't getting rooted (checked on rootchecker basic, although settings stated that my device is modified and triangle counter is 2)
so i did it twice but I still got the same result.
Then I tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273
And I thought it worked properly (since when my phone booted up it said that it was updating the OS)
but then my super su installation was gone and every time I try to open root checker it just gets stuck on the (your system appears to be slow...) and it never finishes checking. Also, sometimes the apps won't open.
Can anyone help me with this issue? I don't want to break/brick this new phone. :crying:
I'm currently downloading the original firmware and im hoping to unroot it by flashing it via odin later. But it's a zip file right and we need the .md5 thing to flash on odin? how do i flash it?
I hope you can help me out and I'm really sorry for the hassle.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Might wanna try the correct forum.
