This is a build ported from a vibrant setup, some tweaks that dfgas incorporated into the last few builds, some extra tweaks from here and there, and extended settings built in. It is very smooth and fast after letting it settle in for a bit.
Let me know how it is for you. You can wipe data or just cache and dalvik...I do all 3...enjoy.
Thanks to anyone that has a hand in developing for the fascinate / mesmerize...the list would be too long to write!
-as of 1.12.9...
-#911 issue fixed (thanks sbrissen, dfgas, & anyone else involved)
-modified default transparent lockscreen...live wallpapers show through lockscreen
-new 1.12.9 Fascinate link...
http://db.tt/enasc1vs
-new 1.12.9 Mesmerize link...
http://db.tt/LHY0AeKk
-as of 1.11.25...
-includes Glitch V13 kernel with working 3 button recovery (with updated screenstate scaling fix)
-new option of miui app drawer
-pick setup, then enable, wait a couple seconds for drawer to load up, then swipe down from top of screen slightly lower than status bar to pull down drawer (almost right at bottom edge of status bar)...takes a little getting used to swipe area as it is very small.
-new options of hiding signal bars and headset icons
-new option of appdrawer background color
-new "on the fly" statusbar layout switching (no need to refresh statusbar anymore)
-new options of autostarting appdrawer
-charging animation it top bar fixed
Here is a link to the v6 supercharger thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I would suggest installing the latest supercharger script...http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792186&d=1322022964 and the app script manager...http://market.android.com/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager
Download both, change the supercharger scripts name from .pdf to .txt, install script manager, go into script managers options and turn on browse as root, then navigate to the directory you downloaded the supercharger script to within the app, click on it, select run as root, then run. Follow the scripts prompts, and as a suggestion, I use option 7. This makes the phone fly even faster at all times even with many apps open. I would have incorporated this into the rom, but the developer would rather you visit the thread to get it.
Downloading now. Thanks!
First impressions:
(Background: Wiped all three from "mounts and storage" menu)
Appears to be based off of MIUI Android (UK port of MIUI) as opposed to MIUI.US. Not sure what diffferences (if any) apply other than the bootani and background. Amiright?
Extended settings built-in is quite awesome.
Noticed MiuiCompass wasn't in there (but DSP Manager was...awesome again). Attached in case you don't have the apk and want to add it in the future.
MMS sent over 3G on first try.
I am not sure which market you bundled with it, but I always go in and remove marketUpdater and add back in the old vending.apk. (This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.
Will this work on the Telus version?

Compass.apk should be in there, but thanks anyway. Basically if porting from a "stock" setup, roms wont differ very much at all, but another difference is that the reboot options are capitalized. I would love to have glitch v13 in there, but its not publically released yet. I do install it on mine though. All you need is the boot.img and the lib/modules folder...modules need to match boot.img that was built.

Ive honestly never looked into the differences between the two carriers. Im guessing no because there are probably some rom differences along with the kernel differences.

Looks great Rick!
Thanks for sharing and spending time doing this.
I am going to give this a try now, I am coming from 1.11.4, and I have yet to try the extended settings yet, so this will be great to check it out at the same time.

I wasn't suggesting you put V13 in there. I was just commenting on my own lack of courage to do it myself more than anything. Thanks for the tip though.
Been installing apps and such basically nonstop since install and listening to music on it. No issues. I did update to Glitch v12RC1 right off the bat as well.
So far, this seems to be about as stable as the 9-16 release which has been my fall-back. I've had the fewest issues with that one. Hopefully this one will be my new 9-16. (Will find out when I get home and see how it handles the wifi/3g handoff that seems to have been causing the most problems on the latest few roms for me)

Thank you for the reply. I know there are differences the big one is one cdma and the other is gsm. I did not see the vibrant mention the first time in the OP. if anyone knows of a compatible miui for the Telus version pm me please I would love to try it
Looks great Rick...thanks again. I had issues with the other '11' roms so far and was back on the 10.28. And also big.thanks for the easy instructions for installing super charger....I couldn't get then to stick a month ago....no problems this time ( used your suggestion....will tweak later after I settle in) only issue is google+ fc at start up. I don't use it so not a huge deal.....will uninstall and install new......phone is flying.
Edit: Re-install of Google+ did the trick. Can't believe how fast and smooth this phone is running now.
Thanks for the responses. Im going to update some MIUI mods and put links in the op soon...launcher mod and screen transitions are some.

Sorry about that...my gmail seems to work fine though. I used JT's 3 button recovery fix kernel because its probably the most used throughout various roms. It doesnt have bln. You can flash any kernel you like though and it will work fine as long as the kernels allows for it.

GSM and CDMA roms/kernels aren't cross compatible. The phones share a name, that's it, they're pretty different when you get down to the nuts and bolts (or silicon and copper.)

"Hmmm. I just had huge success flashing jt's 3ButtonFix.zip kernel over the 1.11.4, making big improvements in battery and GPS. But this is an upgrade, using the same kernel, even though my current ROM is working fine. Hmmm..." thinks the flash junkie as he tries to pretend he might not go ahead and flash this anyway.
Edit: Of course I flashed it, with the script. Running great. Overnight, battery stays in high 90s.
All I can say is wow!! This is by far the most responsive miui build I've ever used, running the script on setting seven as suggested running glitch v13 ml OC`d to 1440..very smooth, plus have all the reboot options again nicely done, thanks much sir!

I actually ported the MIUIScotland 1.11.9 ICS framework I9000 rom to the fascinate. It seems the only difference are a couple added files within the framework and a few files elsewhere, along with the version number in the build prop. Its not even worth playing with though. There are no noticeable differences anywhere. Waist of time just in case anyone was wondering or has heard of it.

Now on to porting galnet ICS MIUI?
;-)
Can someone post either a Stock MMS Apk from UnNamed or possible several others that will work?
I tried what I believe is an older Miui for its improved picture viewing, rather than the stock slideshow style, but I don't like the lack of split conversation style in individual sides and bubbles. I'm sure theres a few different ones floating around but I'm not seeing much. The newer Miui in 2.1.13 look pretty nice with bubbles.
Anyone have ideas on this too? Mostly making the thread to get a hold of the mms.apk or a zip I can flash. There is a similar thread in General but this seems like a more appropriate place to ask for an apk or a zip and possible have a more productive discussion for a possible fix to Samsung's horrid(in my opinion) mms set up, at least better than ranting about how much better iphones messaging app is(no offence to the OP of the other thread).
You could just pull it from the UnNamed ROM .zip

Edit: Tried MIUI 2.1.13 with no luck, kept Force Closing, even after running "Fix Permissions" in CWM, not sure if that had any real effect, I don't know what to manual set permissions to but am open to suggestions so I can try again.

Soft key mod for CM9DX2
What this mod will do:
1. Enable on screen soft keys.
2. Disable button backlights.
While looking for a fix for this I stumbled on this app: Button Remapper
Unfortunately this app will not work on our device. I think that I can manually do remap them to work how the app works. But this would mean that everybody would use the buttons for the same thing. I was thinking of using them as media buttons as in menu=previous song home=play/pause back=next song.. let me know what you think.
If you want your hardkeys mapped a certain way just ask nicely! Maybe I can do it for you.
As always.. **Flash at your own risk**
Credits:
Evilisto for a great writeup on how to enable them.
Go thank mattmanwrx for helping me with the framework.apk
motcher41 for some help on the updater script.
Many people on xda for threads that I seached through.
Most of all.. DZK for giving us CM9!
How to flash:
Like any other mod.
1. Boot into recovery.
2. Make NANDROID backup!
3. Wipe dalvik/cache. (NO NEED TO WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET )
4. Flash zip.
5. Reboot.
CM10
Alpha 3
CM9
Beta 1 softkeys
Beta 1 disable
MIUI 2.8.10
2.8.10 enable
2.8.10 disable
By going to:
Settings >
System >
Navigation bar >
You can edit and add or remove features of navigation bar. Thanks again dark_system for pointing this out.
Hardkey remap (these will work for all versions even though they are labeled for alpha 4)
Flash this after softkey mod if you want your hardkeys to be media buttons:
Menu= Previous song
Home= Play/pause
Back button= Next song
Please note:These will work while screen is OFF, so if you have issues with hitting the buttons while your phone is in your pocket I do not suggest flashing. I did it this way because I play music off of my phone a LOT and I do not want to wake it every time I wanted to go to the next song.
This zip will do the same as above, but will also use the search key as a camera button like the one on a droid x for example.
This one is made for gamers. It will turn your hard keys into dpad keys.
Menu= Dpad left
Home= Dpad up
Back= Dpad down
Search= Dpad right
And here is the zip for the stock hardkeys so you can try out both the mod and hardkey zips and flash back to stock easily.
The mods here will come from the thread in jsgraphicart's post in this post. Just to be clear, this is not my work, it is work of the developers who make the originals in that thread.
I am not going to make a zip for every one of the mods, but if a couple people request it I can get one made.
Newest MIUI softkeys come with the robotov2 style.
I have made a zip for CM9 Beta one and ParanoidAndroid using the ics blue reflection. (Although the PA one looks funky, not sure about the others yet)
CM9 Beta 1- Will only work if you already have the softkey mod installed.
ParanoidAndroid
You can also do this yourself, it is not very hard.
1. Take one of the softkey mods for your rom.
2. Unzip the files and navigate to system/app/SystemUI.apk
3. Extract the SystemUI.apk files and navigate to res/drawable-hdpi
4. Unzip the mod with the softkey you would like and navigate to the folders with the softkey images.
5. Move the images from the you want into drawable-hdpi.
6. Rezip all contents of SystemUI.apk.(assets, meta-inf, androidmanifest, ect.) Make you have .apk on the end.
7. Place your new SystemUI.apk back in system/app and delete what was leftover.
8. Rezip the contents of the mod and sign using this tool.
9. Flash and enjoy.
Thanks glad someone is working on this, hope you can get it straightened out.

Yeah, I don't understand why that happens. I didn't touch anything other than change the nav bar value to true and add a few png files to system ui. Looks alright in landscape, it's hardly useable in portrait though. I'm trying to find a fix in the thread that I got the directions for this from and it seems like there are a lot of people that posted with the same problem but none posted a solution, at least that I could find.

Also, I'm glad you made a backup.. But the op does states that the zip was only tested on alpha 3.

Look forward to it. I can deal with that stuff I just hate my hard buttons
I love the soft buttons, and can't wait for them to be done for Alpha 4, but curious, is there any way for them to be located on the bottom at all times(Portrait or Landscape Mode)?
I don't think so, that's the way they were designed. I googled to see if there was any kind of mod out there that would do this and I couldn't find anything. It's probably possible, but I don't think anybody wants to put in that much time.

Hmm I haven't had any problems flashing back and forth. And you shouldn't have to sbf, recovery should still be installed, you should either have a nandroid backup or you can flash cm9 again with wiping only cache and dalvik.
Now which file were you trying to flash and which version of cm9 were you on? And what steps did you take.

I was flashing the latest alpha 4 mod file, and I am on cm9 alpha 4. I didn't sbf. just restored nandroid. I thought I was going to have to since it didn't go into recovery at first. But I pulled battery and then was able too.
I wiped the big three and then flashed the mod .zip through bsr.
Then it just stays at boot animation forever. I pulled battery and same thing. 3 times.

Also note that when you wipe the dalvik, it takes longer to boot since it has to build it again. How long did you wait before concluding it was stuck?
I had this when using the Base, but after going stock again in preparation for CM or AOSP I lost the ability to wake using the volume rocker. I know I need to edit a file in system/usr/keylayout but I can't remember which one, and if that was the only thing i needed to do.
I've tried searching this forum for it, but have not been able to find it. I remember when I read it, it was a offshoot of another thread within it.
Thanks for any help and have an awesome one.

Rootbox has it as an option, and I think the new CM10 has it as well.
If you're intending to use AOSP anyway, there really isn't anything for you to do.

Yeah I was able to try those and while I prefer their aesthetic I miss not having more control of the hardware. (eco-mode, wise screen, etc.) If any of the ROMs for the G had the eco-mode feature I'd stick with it, but as it is the Nova launcher and stock are more than ok.
So for anyone who might know could you let me know?
Thanks!

Go to system/usr/keylayout. Edit file "keypad_8064.kl", key 114 and key115 as shown. Save a backup of original file, just in case.
Get Trickster MOD from the play store. You can set ECO mode with it if you are using the Houcha kernel.

I was surprised to see this ... Used to run Carbon Roms on a whole bunch of devices.
Very solid right now, I installed this on one of my many TF201's.
Couple of things to report...
1. Bluetooth when turning on and off FC very frequently.
2. When you go to set a carbon wallpaper the preview wallpaper covers the buttons to select.
3. Replaced stock launcher with Nova, running very nicely.
4. Pretty rapid battery drain. I have been used to HB 1.51 & 2.2 and does not drain as quick.
5. OMG so many options/customizations.
6. Is there a issue when you place the tablet into the dock and not have it charging? Ran into that a few times.
Have not tested HDMI and MOGA & PS3 controls with it. Are there any issues with the controls with this rom?
Other than that so far -- SOLID!
Am I the only one who can't get PIE controls working? Could anyone point me to a sort of tutorial or how-to guide for using PIE? I've seen demo videos of what it looks like when working, but I'm wondering what settings to adjust/turn-on to get it working in the first place. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but it just isn't working for me!
Thanks in advance!

2. This isn't a device-specific problem, my SIII has the same issue. I'll look into fixing it later. It works fine in portrait orientation.
3. Nova is a nice launcher, isn't it?
4. Don't know if I can do much about that, apart from trying to tune a few settings.
5. Yeah, but it's nice.
6. I haven't noticed a problem, but let me know if it persists

You have to enable the controls under Settings -> Carbon first, then enable expanded desktop.

Okay, in order:
1. I can't replicate it on my end. Could you describe what exactly is force closing?

Thanks. Is expanded desktop the same as "dual panel mode"? Or am I missing the specific setting somewhere?

As far is the Bluetooth -- I would go into Settings --> Turn On/Off. It has only FC on me once today, I wiped the cache/dalvik and has not happened again.
Also, I am on my PC and in the Play Market -- I am trying to install apps from the market place and it's not downloading from the play store on the tablet. I hope I didn't confuse you, lol.

The expanded desktop option is accessible from the power menu. You may have to go to Settings -> Carbon -> Power Menu to make the expanded desktop option show up.

Did you do a data wipe? I just realized a few hours ago that I forgot to put that in the installation instructions. I've already corrected the OP. If it still gives you trouble, post or send me a logcat and I'll see if I can come up with something else.

Presenting CarbonRom for the Transformer Prime.
This requires the 4.1 Jellybean Bootloader. Anyone running 4.2 stock-based ROMs must downgrade the bootloader before flashing this ROM.
Features:
Honestly, too many to list. Just explore the ROM to see what it offers.
Known bugs:
The same ones affecting other non-stock ROMs (no GPS, for example).
Installation:
1. Download the ROM here.
2. Download gapps here.
3. (Optional) Download the OC or Data2SD kernels here.
4. Perform a nandroid backup just in case.
5. Wipe Data/Factory Reset and wipe system if coming from another ROM.
6. Install the ROM, followed by gapps.
7. Reboot and enjoy.
