Wish the ROM's with a stock kernel were a bit smaller, it's a pain in the ass to download a 1GB file to flash, my other devices were usually only like 165MB!!!

ha, yeah, I'm at work and can't use the computer to send it to the phone. I'm just too excited about the whole thing so I'm downloading GPE on the phone, i'm on a 8GB shared plan with 3 others that use on average about .07GB each per month, so I"m good just takes a while

yes, after you flash ROM to to selected Rom slot, then select the kernel patch zip and flash that after ROM is installed.
---------- Post added at 07:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:25 AM ----------
I flashed the elclipse rom with no issue and did the kernel patch right after but I can't verify wifi as I am work. My wifi analyzer program sees our WAPs so thats a good thing.
I also did the GPE Rom and kernel patch and wifi does work. My only hiccup was I lost of radio/mobile data on the stock rom as well as GPE rom and took me a bit to see the network selection was not on CDMA/LTE/EVDO. Once I selected that, everything worked
Just waiting on the weekend and SD-compatible rom slots before doing any development, here's what I've tested so far.

Bone Stock (Didn't Work for me)
AOSP Source Built (Didn't Work for me)
CyanogenMod Nightly (Didn't Work for me)

Btw which TWRP do you use @xxaqib? I used to install t0lteskt which supposed corresponding to my E250K. unfortunately nandroid backup doens't work, restoring any backups (even w/o space in filename) will result in bootloop.
Would like to share a few findings after using WIDzard kernel for 3 days.
1. The kernel probably needs to flash with widzard recovery which is a mod of Philz 6.57.5. My first attempt with philz touch 6.48.4-t0lte caused a strange bootloop: samsung logo > recovery > samsung logo > recovery....
2. 8~10% performance gains compared to stock kernel. The benchmark was not made on the same ground though.
stock kernel - DN3 v5 : 18239 @antutu 4.5
Widzard kernel - MawrickROM : 20988 @antutu 4.5
3. By overclocking to 1.8GHz, the performance is very decent. Sorry Aututu auto updated to v5, so oc benchmark was made on v5...
To conclude, I found widzard kernel is very smooth and stable. I didn't got a glitch in the past few days. I recommend people give it a try to report back if any issues to the author:highfive:

Sure, lots of people do. CM11 is still Beta Software. Incomplete, a work in progress, and pretty darned good. I used to think that Snapshot builds were "Official stable releases" by CyanogenMod. They are not, they are just another Nightly build that the company selects to "freeze in time" as a snapshot, so they can take official bug reports from the public. They do not take bug reports on Nightly builds. Because snapshots are "just another Nightly build" they are not as good as the current Nightly build because each new Nightly build is supposed to be an improvement over the last successive build, or, at least, that is the general idea. Some are really good, some are not so good, and some Nightly builds are pretty bad.
I cannot speak personally on the last Snapshot build as I do not install them and choose the Nightly builds instead. They are more current than the Snapshots.
The idea is to pick a known good Nightly build (I will tell you more about this in a minute.), clean out your rom slot by deleting it or wiping Data, System, Android Secure, Cache, and Dalvik Cache clear. That's right, start out totally clean. You then pick out a PA-GAPPS package that you like, Mini-Modular is recommended, and flash the cm11 Nightly build with the pa-gapps build, boot to System, and finish the Install Wizard. Good idea to go right to play store and shut off automatic updates so you can pick what to install and when. First up is getting your phone setup and finished, all working good, shiny and new. Uninstall any apps you will not use. Keep it clean and mean. One you get your rom setup and working well, you can then update through /Settings/About Phone/CyanogenMod Updates/ and pick your update. Try and make sure you pick a good one.
How to find "A known good Nightly ROM"
In the main developer thread for the Razr phones we discuss "Build Reports". I learned a good tip I will share with you now. Go to the developer thread mentioned and go all the way to the most recent posts. What you want to do is learn to "Mine the thread for good Nightly builds". Read backwards to find a Build Report. You will see where a member installed a new build and reports on it. "Installed Build 10/07 and all is good. Ran for a full day, no issues so far". That is a good build report. If you can find the same build mentioned by another member and he confirms the rom is good, all the better. Now you found a good Nightly build. Download it before it slips off the server. Flash this known good build with your pa-gapps and you are off to a good start. That is a good tip, learn to find "good Nightly builds" and avoid the bad ones.
Snapshots are nothing special and they are improved upon by the subsequent Nightly builds. When you get a good running build, back it up in Safe Strap. If the next Nightly build you install has problems or is "not as good or better" than what you had before, restore your backup. Point is that Nightly Builds are crap shoots. Some are good, some are bad. And Snapshot builds are Nightly builds.
Once you reach ten posts, you can post in the developer thread. Tips to make that easier:
Ask your question politely but read before you post as your question may already have been answered.
Use the "Search this thread" box at the bottom of the thread to see if what you want is already posted. I.e.: "build report"
Thank someone who helps you by tapping the Thanks button next to their post.
Report back how things worked out if you can.
The current Nightly builds are experiencing some problems. Last really good rom was on 10/07, you can tell by reading the file name like this cm-11-20141007-NIGHTLY-spyder.zip. Nightly build 10/10 is reported to be good as well, but I find 10/07 to be a little better, IMHO.
That should help you get a good running rom. To conserve battery, turn off WiFim Bluetooth, and WiFi-AP when not using them. Avoid heavy use CPU governors like "Performance" in Settings. Let us know if you get results. Hope this helps and Good luck. :good:

It was on the first page, now it isn´t,I don´t know why...
Here,I attached it for you, just open both zips and replace that folder in CM11 with this one.
Yes,you can wipe everything, but I suggest that you leave stock intact and to flash the rom on the system 2,that way you will have your working stock if anything goes wrong.
On European network, is better XT912 or XT910 ROM for XT912 phone?
Hello everyone, I'm new in the forum an I have a question, but before I tell you the story of my phone to better understand the situation.
I am owner of the RAZR (XT910) from the mid-2012 and at the end of 2012 I have bought a RAZR MAXX (XT912) with broken screen from the USA.
Therefore I converted my RAZR to MAXX swapping battery frame, battery, inner frame (the one with antennas, I also swapped the different antenna) and the back cover. I finally got a fully functional XT910 RAZR MAXX until June 2014, when the phone began to freeze.
The pone was on stock Motorola Jelly Bean, rooted and with some Xposed modules. Thinking about software problem, I restored the phone to default but the problem continued to recur. Unable to determine the cause of the problem (I also checked the flash memory via ADB with e2fsck with no damaged blocks reported), I flashed the CM11 ROM on the stock slot of SafeStrap. The phone became smoother but the freezes/black screens were still there. I went ahead continuing to update the rom hoping for a solution, but the feeling that it was a hardware problem became stronger and stronger. Yesterday, tired of the ever more frequent freezes, I decided to swap the motherboard of the phone with the one of the XT912 knowing that it could operate on the European network. I swapped the motherboards (that are glued to the screen, why Motorola, why? ) and put the antenna as it was originally. I finally got a XT912 RAZR MAXX with the screen of XT910.
After, I restored the data partition, the android secure partition and manually the internal memory; next I flashed the last Nightly for XT912 with mini PAGapp (not the full because the system partition on XT912 is 636MB and there isn't enough space, on XT910 it is 770MB; again: why Motorola, why? :crying.
After rebooting the phone and have discovered that my transplant of backups (done as a butcher ) had worked, I noticed that the phone doesn't recognize my SIM card. Searching the Internet I found that only with the original ROM the phone will operate on European networks and, for other ROMs, is necessary to apply a patch. After the flash of the patch the pone work correctly with the SIM and the problems of freezes are disappeared, indicating that it was a hardware problem (I hope ).
Today, driven by curiosity, I tried to flash the latest Nightly for XT910 in the first slot of SafeStrap to see if with it the XT912 motherboard will operate on the European network, and it did!
Now, the question is: for a xt912 on European network, is better the XT912 ROM with the patch or directly the XT910 ROM without it?
Waiting for an answer from someone more experienced than me, I apologize for the length of the post and for my bad English.
Thanks,
Marco.
thanx a lot,,,,,,

You did a good job in here. Thanks Welder. I don't have an XT910 so this is stuff I cannot answer. I am really glad that you stepped up, saw something you could handle, and took care of it. That's really good stuff. Good English or not, you did great buddy.

Thank you my friend
Btw,it doesn't matter if it's XT910 or XT912,if you want to flash CM11 with BMM,the META-INF folder must be replaced...

So I've had an issue for months that my ringtones and notifications didn't show up. I was only stuck with anything from a theme or the hangouts notification sound or call. I messed with the permissions and locations of the files and managed to get the ringtones and notifications to show up finally but i lost the UI sounds. Can someone give me the locations for Ringtones, Notifications, and UI sounds, and what the permissions for each should be set to? That would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Very good Welder. Also you have custom sounds on /sdcard0/ in the following folders:
Alarms
Media
Notifications
Ringtones
root sdcard_r rwxrwx---
Media in these folders come from apps, Facebook, and custom ringtones like you make with RingDroid.
Really surprised you have these issues. To fix the system permissions, you can do a "Dwillian Dump" update. This will wipe out the /system partition and replace it with a fresh set of files and permissions.

Rather than doing OTA updates I've gotten into the habit of manually updating by booting into SafeStrap recovery, backing up current ROM if it seems good, then wiping system, cache, and dalvik cache. Then I install CM 11 nightly, PA GApps stock, and Play Services and Games update (optional, but recommended add-on module to be installed with PA GApps). I install all three zip files in this order and at the same time (i.e., add all three zip files before starting the install). Then I wipe cache and dalvik cache, and finally I reboot.

I did this for 10/16 and had very good results. But I did not do the optional play service zip file. Wiping the /system partition and allowing the new rom update to replace it should put back all the proper permissions for it.
