[Q] How to downgrade the new HBOOT ? - HTC EVO 3D

I just upgrade to the new hboot. I'm s-off.
Any solutions yet ?

I can't flash some ROMs.. help help !

CDMA or GSM? What Roms are you trying to flash?
If you are trying to flash GB Roms or aosp based Roms with the new hboot, you will get bootloops unless you downgrade the hboot.

[Q] Flyer 3.55.405.1 Wont boot

I installed RUU_Flyer_HC_S_HTC_WWE_3.55.405.1_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.07_M_release_226690_signed
I have Revlutionary and S-OFF - After running RUU and updating, it hangs/gets stuck at the white screen with HTC logo (just before it would play startup tone and say quietly different).
I rebooted into bootloader, and chose fastboot, and reverted to RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3_R_Radio_20.3501.30.089BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_194964_signed.
Any ideas why I can't boot with 3.55.405.1 ?
It's a 3G unbranded Flyer.
My guess is because your hboot was s off it can not be over wroteby ruu flash. So you had conflicting hboot and sysytem. If on gb get s off then follow globatron thread in development for s off hc

Yes, that's what it is. HC and GB hboots are not inter-changable and revolutionary hboot protects itself from being overwritten so you ended up with a (partial) HC rom and a GB hboot.
Great thanks for the quick replies! So - what is best course of action?
1) Regain S-ON somehow and then flash RUU 3.55 or,
2) Forget about stock ROM and install Globatron ROM ?
Globatron's method is stock rooted s off. Best option

Followed globatron guide - did a two pass install using sd card method. HC installed, works like a bomb thanks again!
I have BB Flyer and was rooted, s-off, with FlyHoney Rom. Accidentaly tried to install a non GB ROM over this and now I can't get anything to work. Will this globatron method work for me as well?
How are you S-OFF on honeycomb if you didn't use my method already?
My appologies - I'm Unlocked with S-on.
I did use your method to get Unlocked
Honestly if you're going to run custom roms, downgrade and use the S-OFF HC procedure to upgrade. If you for some reason don't want to do that then every time you change roms you will need to fastboot flash the boot image.
I've been tryng for the past 2 hours to download my original RUU with no success. Filefactory keeps saying the file can't be downloaded at this time.....
Just to get something running, how do I "fastboot flash the boot image"
sorry for the noob question....
steps 6 and 10, http://android.modaco.com/topic/345...g-honeycomb-on-your-flyer-the-complete-guide/
I will give it a try.
Thanks for all your work and help.
---------- Post added at 05:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:06 PM ----------
I'm confused....
6 is downloading the hboot - 10 is fastboot flashing the boot image. Is this correct?
---------- Post added at 05:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:31 PM ----------
should I just follow all of your steps again? Will that hurt anything?
Sorry, my mistake 4 and 10.
---------- Post added at 10:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 PM ----------
The best thing you can do since you want custom roms anyway is download the GB rom for your region. (re)Lock the bootloader and run the RUU to downgrade, then follow my guide to upgrade.
As soon as I can get a good download of my RUU I will downgrade and follow your steps for S-off. Still having problems with FileFactory and the one I had downloaded before was not complete for some reason (it was only 12 MB)
What RUU do you need?
up and running again...thanks again globatron!
need RUU_Flyer_BrightstarUS_WWE_2.27.1540.31_R_Radio_20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204116_signed.exe

Do you have an RUU for the build that contains that hboot? You should be able to pull it out of the .exe or .zip version of the RUU, then repackage it to flash separately.
That's what I've done for hboots for the Evo 3D CDMA.

If you have a zip version of the RUU, you need to take the android-info.txt and hboot file out of the root of that zip and re-zip then into a file called PG86IMG.zip, then flash that file from your bootloader (assuming you are S-OFF). If you are not S-OFF, the only way to change the bootloader is to flash the entire RUU, or change it in the process of getting S-OFF.
If the RUU is an .exe file, mpgrimm2 has instructions on how to extract the files you need in this post.

so now i dont know how to downgrade my hboot
ps sorry for my bad english
Go s-off, don't waste your time, most of the new roms require s-off to flash the firmware, there's a thread for doing the wire trick, look for it

Going S-OFF with JuopuntBear (wire trick) is definitely good advice. I was able to flash an RUU with hboot 1.50 over a configuration that had hboot 1.58 on an E3D CDMA model using the RUU.exe for the earlier release, but that was with S-OFF.
I have a thread in this forum about modifying the Main Version (mainver) of the phone to allow flashing of earlier hboots and RUU's, but I haven't tested that with S-ON and you will be better off in the long run getting S-OFF. Then you can flash any RUU or hboot you want.

[Q] Update Revolutionary Bootloader

So I have an HTC Evo 3D with changed motherboard(That means that i cannot unlock the HTC method) and recendly I accomplished to downgrade it with the Ultimate Recovery Tool and unlock it with revolutionary. This means that I am in HBOOT 1107 with S-OFF,rooted and 4ext recovery...I managed to install 1 or 2 ROMs succesfully but when i tried to install Viped3D and an other one that uses Aroma and have sence in them they stuck in Boot screen...
I searched a bit and I figured out than i have to update my HBOOT...
Can anyone tell me if i am right and if i am how to do it without losing my unlock and root and without bricking my phone...
Thank You
Revolutionary hboot shouldn't be giving you problems with viper rom. you can try by changing hboot to 1.49.0007 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172
But before you do just want to make sure that before you did this unlock method was your hboot 1.53 or an older hboot?
---------- Post added at 06:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:01 PM ----------
The reason i'm asking if you had hboot 1.53 is that most roms require the newer firmware: http://d-h.st/Mf1
This isnt a problem if in the past you had updated to ics(1.53 hboot) using RUU or official update. if you went from 1.49.xxxx to revolutionary then you need this for roms to boot

So i achieved s-off using the rumrunner method and it worked great. So the next step i took was updating the hboot and radios , which worked to an extent.... Simply put... there isn't one.
4.5.605.14 was only ever released as an OTA update, no RUU publicly exists, all we have is cherry picks from the OTA.
The best you could do there is flash the last available RUU (3.14.605.12) and manually apply the updates.

The first link (post #33) has both radios and Hboot... the second is Hboot only (post #26). You should do them as a pair, although it is possible to have an "unmatched" pair of hboot/radios, on the 0123r/0124r radios some people did have issues if they didn't have 2.28 Hboot, if I remember right.

Correct... No RUU or even a full official ROM image exists publicly. I do know that an exe RUU exists for 4.5.605.14, but it may never see the light of day. I know the person who leaked the previous RUUs to AndroidPolice in the past, they have access to the file but there are other reasons he can't release it, I honestly don't know anymore details.

I think I've got the s-off version of the latest update somewhere on either my Rezound or my website data stash. I'll have to look for it when I get the chance. My personal opinion: if you are able to flash roms, fastboot, adb, and boot into recovery from the boot loader, there's really no other reason to update it.
