Ok so I'm running SuperLTE rom, unlocked and rooted on the 1.22 ota update for a bit now, just today my phone has been literally shutting off and turn WiFi on repeatedly. I thought maybe it was my router but no other device does this at all while connected. I don't get great data signal at my house so WiFi works well while just sitting around but that has been impossible today. Any help or advice or if you feel like mailing me a good size hammer, it will be greatly appreciated!

I was having the same issue. After testing on multiple routers it still had the problem. I was getting ready to take my phone back and performed the s-on steps and set everything back to stock, it's been perfect for the last 5 days. If you're having the same issue as me, I think it's software related. Hope this helps....

So are you saying you just relocked and set back to stock running ruu or something?

This helped me out with my wifi problems. Seems to be the way sense settings handle wifi.
Yeah, after running the ruu things were good. I've had the problem off and on since day one though. If yours just appeared I'm not sure if it's the same deal.
It may be your choice of custom ROM, however... If you are running a relatively new router, it will operate at two bands. Setting my WiFi to connect on the higher, 5 Ghz band on my Cisco EA4500, and setting WiFi to best performance solved this issue for me, without modifying system components. HTH!

Hey guys, I'm new here so let me know if Im messing up any board rules or customs!
I did a quick search but didn't hit on any exact results... I connect to my home or work WiFi without any drops (which is a whole other situation) but once I leave the range of the WiFi network my EVO doesn't realize and stays connected which means I won't get emails because there is no active connection... So far my only fix has been to turn my WiFi on and off again.. is anybody else seeing this?
It's not the end of the world just a minor nuisance! Im set to auto frequency, best performance and always keep WiFi on during sleep. I feel like that last one might be the issue but I don't want to go to 3G on standby!
Thanks

I have read about some other people having the same issue here. Wifi as a whole is very glitchy on this device right now and hopefully fixes will be part og hts's fist update.
I am experiencing the same issue. Would love to know how to resolve it.

I'm also experiencing this. It is slightly annoying, but not a deal breaker. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon enough.
Mine does this as well, but goes a step further. Once I leave the Wifi area I can toggle Wifi off to drop the connection and use 3G. However, when I go back to a wifi area, any network ive previously connected to states not in range. I can pick up new networks, but not existing networks. The only solution is to reboot the device.
Is something the HTC set for battery saving, what happens when you connected to wifi with any device is that it check every 60-90-180seconds (wherever the programmer set) so your phone won't check right away, but when it does it will disconnect, every phone has it but probably HTC put up a high number that way it saves more battery

This is starting to get quite frustrating. If I leave the house and need to use navigation or anything requiring data I have to toggle wifi off. Has anyone figured this out or is it potentially a hardware issue where I should seek a replacement?
I made a thread about returning my EVO for another one. I had the same issue. The second EVO is working perfect so far. Way better battery life with this one too.

Were you by chance also having issues with MMS downloading? I really like the phone but some of these little quirks are starting to annoy me.
Anyone else having this problem? I haven't seen a fix or any other posts which makes Mr think this may be a device issue. Thanks for any help.

I flashed the OTA today hoping it would rectify and it has not. I am rooted, s-off, TWRP so my options are open for mods but don't know what to look for here. Anyone, anyone? :fingers-crossed:

I spoke with HTC yesterday and they were not aware of a widespread issue with this. When I get more time I will dig into it a bit more as I believe it can probably be fixed with mods to wpa_supplicant. In the meantime, I will be sending some logs to HTC as well.

It's definitely software-based, as it didn't happen with MaXimus 2.1 or CM10, but DOES happen with MaXimus 2.2 and the stock ROM. Oddly, it never happened with the stock ROM before now.
Does it happen to you on more than one WiFi network?

It happens on every wifi network I've been on - private home networks, work networks, and open networks. It doesn't always fail to switch but 90% is too high for me.

Yes, I 'm 100% stock. I'm rooted, s-off but no major mods. I have modded build.prop to restore the app associations but nothing else.

So I'm asking to confirm whether this is a bug or a problem with my phones hardware. Any time I'm on WiFi for an extended period of time and then turn it off my mobile network won't connect. The only way to fix it is with a reboot and then it connects immediately. My wifes phone is completely stock and she doesn't have this issue. I'm rooted with s-off.

i fought with that problem ever since i've had the phone, installed the update released yesterday and it's fixed.

since your wife's phone is stock she probably has benefited from that, you'll have to un-root/return to stock to apply the update or wait until someone here concocts a way for you to apply this update, or at least the radio update that it contains.

I flashed the radios yesterday and still had the issue. Flashed a stock Rom this morning based on the new ota so we will see what happens. The weird thing is my wife didn't have the issue before the ota. Thanks for the reply.

yeah, it seems just from reading around that some did and some didn't. i almost wonder if it wasn't related to some glitch when applying the previous update. i know that when i first powered on my phone to activate it i briefly saw some message about failing to apply an update or something.
i think the radio update may have only been half of it; seems that some of HTC's performance and power management stuff may have been to blame as well.
i can tell you that it's been several hours over 24 since i did the update and haven't had to reboot the phone once to regain 3G. before i could shut down wifi at any random time through the day and mobile network would sit there churning on "turning on..." now i can turn it off and on at will and it connects pretty much instantly.

Glad its working now, I'm rooted with Fresh 1.0 since it came out. Only update is PRL. I have always switched instantly to 3G coming off of WiFi. Never had that issue so must be something software related on your cell, I guess confirmed by your update.

Two days ago I rooted and installed cm7.1. Everything was fine at home on WiFi then I go to work and my phone is rendered useless. I work in and area where before being rooted and having a custom Rom installed I would have good 3g service all day every day. Now the phone is bouncing back and fourth between 3g and 1x. With one to two bars on either and usually stuck on 1x. So I switch to mean Rom ics. Rom works exceptionally well but now I'm at work and once again terrible not even usuable signal strength in a place where I've worked for years and never had an issue before. It took me 3 hours to download tapatalk from the play store today just to write this. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong or if there's a fix! If not I'll be reverting to stock.
Sprint evo 3d
Hboot 1.5 s-on
4ext recovery
Mean Rom ics
I tried updating profile and prl with no luck. Which actually I don't even know what that does so it could be irrelevant.
Please help thanks!

Try this

#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\=LTE
Also there is a big difference in what Rom you choose, at least for me. Some have roaming working, som do not. I would try a different Rom.

Bumer man. If you were s-off I'd say just flash a different radio. However you being s-on makes that not a option. Have you tried calling sprint and have them reset your signal ?
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\=LTE
Ya, definitely do s-off, prefer Closeone with Unknownforce, worth the time, not sure of other method, never tried. Different Rom, some my data is 200-400, others better signal and 1100-1600 3g. CM7 kind of old, second the recommended previously though my preference is Sense 4, no 4g in Phoenix metro, dam you Sprint...lol.

Hey guys. Little new to the TBolt crew here.
I've been rooting for a bit. Did an HTC Hero, a DROID Eric, an Incredible... Now I've got a TBolt sitting here that I just rooted about an hour ago. It was running 4G just fine both before and after the root, but after installing a CM7 ROM (SFK's to be precise) I haven't seen 4G pop up since. I've tried a couple other CM7 roms, but nothing seems to make a difference - it only runs on 3G.
I was thinking it might be a radio problem, but admittedly I'm pretty novice with this stuff. I just flash what sounds interesting, and if it's not as stable as I'd like I find something else to flash. Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong? And what I can download to fix it?
EDIT: After giving up and deciding to go back to my backup of "stock" that I'd just made... now it's failing to properly back up. This wonderful error about data being corrupted with the only button available being "I'm Feeling Lucky" and still no 4G, only 3G. Now I'm at a complete loss.
I have a Nexus sitting next to me clearly connected to 4G just fine, so I know it's not a network issue. What the heck is going on here?
I'm sure you have, but never know... have you checked your wireless network settings?
Settings--Wireless & Networks--Mobile Networks--Network Mode.
Make sure LTE/CDMA is selected.

most roms are built with a specific radio in mind i would try to flash one of the newer radios they work better drain less battery and are more compatible with rooted roms.
First off,
Thanks for taking the time to view this post and offer any help.
Second, sorry if it's in the wrong place (Never really sure of the right place these days)
Finally, the problem:
This morning my phone had no signal at all for a good few hours till restart. I got signal back then shortly afterwards it drops again not to come back on till a restart. I have done a clean flash of the ROM and it is still persisting. Oh and I forgot to say that now my radio is asking for superuser access constantly which makes the phone unusable, this doesn't restore the signal though. I have also tried flashing Evervolv with the same result.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Now the phone won't get any signal at all, even after a reboot and full wipe, it's like the rom can't access the radio receiver (No idea if i decribed that right)
EDIT: I have a feeling this may relate to my problem. Could anyone confirm or correct me?

Seems like that link you provided is down right now. Have you tried flashing the stock ICS ruu? Not sure whether your CDMA or gsm.
Just checked the link there and its working now. I'm not sure what I did but after reflashing disarmed toaster (for like the 10th time) it seems to have done the trick. No problems with signal anymore.
I would still like to know what caused it for future reference though. And I'm gsm
