scrolling in general, like contacts, app manager, browser etc
it kinda stutter a bit

Well the only time I notice "stuttering" is in my bookmarks draw and it just feels like a lower frame rate not really stuttering

Jack

That's one reason why i'm using jb now.

I also noticed that the scrolling is not 100 % smooth.

How to do text reflow in browser?

I can't seem to make this work, unless I rotate the screen from portrait to landscape and back again.
Can anyone tell me how to make it work after pinch zooming?
Thanks,
James
Doesnt seem to do it does it.... Very annoying. I like stock browser but looks like im moving to opera

Nope, and I can't get it to do it on Dolphin HD either...

dolphin browser hd
What about it?
double tap to the screen.
That zooms out, and reflows, but doesn't reflow to the size you make the text with pinch zoom.

Haven't had mine come through yet so I've not been able to test this but in the Techradar review they say:
"One gripe we do have is the text reflow, as it doesn't do it automatically – you have to double tap the screen slowly to activate it when pinching to zoom in."
Hope that helps

why dont you try first? zoom in and double tap to the screen.it reflows in same size.
Thanks both for your comments.
Unfortunately I can't make it work even despite cCeT's arrogant reply.

This was the arrogant comment. Of course I've tried first, why else would I be starting a thread on the issue?

thats you misunderstanding.
did you checked autofit pages box under the the browser settings before trying to do that?
What did you mean then?
I've tried the auto fit pages button, but it didn't seem to have any effect

Confirmed, this does NOT work. Some oversight.
Like others have said, this does not reflow, it just zooms out to fit the text onto the screen...
this is a huge deal.
what about if you just load a regular page, zoomed out completely. then double tap somewhere, it should zoom in. does it reflow after a double tap in that fashion?
99% of my usage is just double tap on a place, and browser reflows teh text. i dont care about pinch to zoom reflow necessarily. any luck with double tap method?
Double tao appears to reflow correctly, but unfortunately that's not much good for many scenarios where I would like larger text

Yep, as above. The Nexus S had this issue too but got round it with the + and - in the lower right corner. Text would be off the edge after pinch to zoom but tapping either the + or the - reflow it while maintaining the text size previously set. No such luck here though.
Guys my SGS1 had been lost for almost a month, but as far as I remember the stock browser would not reflow on "pinch to zoom", would only reflow on "double-tap to zoom", and only on certain pages that had clear resizeable DIV/TABLEs (html language)?

Scrolling

Just bought the amaze today and went to the YouTube app and noticed when scrolling through the videos the text on the screen was out of focus. Is anyone else having this issue or did I just get a bad device? For the few hours I've played with it, this seems to be a very nice device

Seems clear to me. See attachments.
Unless you're talking about the motion of scrolling, then I guess it's a little blurry. ...
Yeah I'm taking about the motion. It seems to get blurry and the screen dims a little.

Touch Sensitivity

Is anyone else noticing much less "fling ability" for example, when I fling my application drawer it is noticeably more resistant,if you will

Yes, thats pretty standard across all ics roms - don't know why they did that, makes it hard to scroll.
But i don't know if I would call that touch sensitivity, maybe more like "scrolling momentum"
I noticed the sensitivity could be adjusted under the galaxy s2 settings located in the app drawer.

I wonder if it's one of the changes they made along with removing the 'bounce' feedback you get when you hit the end of a scroll due to complaints from Apple.

Smoothest Home Screen Yet!

GO Launcher v2.87 Beta.. just came out.. highly recommended!
The last one was great.. but this one takes the smoothness level to a whole new level.
My home screen is cluttered with icons.. but is finally stutter free !

Just installed. Very smooth indeed.
Do a long press on home screen ... menus are now more GUI as well.

Super flipping fast!
I still prefer ADW for gingerbread and Apex for ICS roms. Seems like go launcher always sucked extra battery on my devices.

Love the newest update soooo smooth.

Wow its definitely a LOT faster on my Note.
The only thing that bugs me is the smooth/slow transition when launching apps. Compared to Apex in which the apps launch very quickly. It's like Go launcher is almost toooo smooth in that respect.
I'll also monitor battery use via "bad assbattery monitor" since the last version definitely used more battery than other launchers.
It is my favorite launcher even though I switched to Apex the last week. I'll give Go another try

I just installed the beta and I don't notice any difference at all. That being said, go launcher is my favorite Gab launcher and definitely smoother than all of them except touchwiz.

Take a read thru the description on the blog, all the changes are there.
Namely, the major change I like is the new method for adding shortcuts, widgets, etc. Long press any empty area on the screen and instead of the ugly menu, a list is displayed at the bottom.
Also, the app drawer (the screen that shows the list of apps) is also much better.
Is it more fluid/smooth/faster? Eh...
It could still be better but its never going to be as smooth as IOS due to how Android works vs IOS. Android physically moves each pixel around on the screen using 'math' to determine where each pixel should be drawn, one pixel at a time, then draws the frame, repeating frame by frame where as IOS uses pre-processed pictures in rapid succession similar to how film on a projector works.
Downloading now can't wait to try it.

It is smooth. I have noticed some lag coming back to the home screen from go SMS. It takes awhile to populate the icons then its fine.

Anyone get choppiness when going into the App Drawer on this? Is there a way to turn off the transition animation altogether?
Don't wanna appear to be hatin on Go launcher, cuz I've used it well over a year. I've got a new fav- SS launcher. Very smooth, highly customizable. Give it a shot!

Pretty smooth but hate the indicator on the top of screen. Has a gap when removing indicator.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke

There an option to hide or even auto hide the indicator.

The app drawer is just as choppy as it ever was. Mine is mostly slow entering the app drawer. I would also be in favor of cutting off the animation all together.

I am experiencing no lag on the home screen. The app drawer has a tiny delay opening it but other than that I think it works great. Still waiting for second day of battery testing.

No Go. After random nonsense with their apps, including dragging phones down to their knees with running logcat hundreds of times in an apparent public debug release, no. Avoid all Go junk.
Plus... ios look? really?
Beta 3 is up. Beta 2 I had no battery issues. Actually go has never given me battery problems to over a year and two phones.

I love the Samsung browser, but why is it choppy zooming out?

I have always wondered this, is this to improve speed or a design flaw? You got a square and the rest of the screen goes white for a split second. And even if you use a third party browser it's the same. Is this an android thing?
