Hey just wanted to give everyone a heads up about this deal.
So my i777 has been acting up. The USB port is totally ****ed and thinks it's always charging and does not connect to my computer.
So I called AT&T to get it replaced, but they're out of the i777, and they gave me the options to get an ION, One X, or Skyrocket.
I chose the One X, and I'm getting it tomorrow with a free upgrade to 2 day shipping too.
Hopefully this helps some owners who are still under 1 year warranty?
EDIT: They only offered me a Skyrocket at first, but I was nice and friendly, and the rep went to talk to her supervisor and gave me the ION and One X as options too.

Great deal but I don't think the people here will want this deal. They love their AOKP and i777 too much
Ya. Figured someone would like the upgrade to the One X though. I personally feel the ION and Skyrocket are garbage, but hte One X seems like a great phone if you don't need a minisd.
Interesting, they replaced it under the manufacturer warranty or was it through that extra monthly insurance? I might try this out of boredom?

I just called about the camera not focusing and making that buzz sound. They said the i777 was backordered and would be replaced with a skyrocket. I said no, and asked if I could early upgrade or get anything else. They said no. I asked if a service center might have one, they said they can't verify the stock, but I could try. I really pushed for anything other than the skyrocket, politely, and they said no. It would be free, but my only option. I guess if the service center doesn't have one I'll call back and try again. I really want an S III, in red, but I could live until may when I qualify for upgrade with a One X.

:/, Sorry man, I guess this is a YMMV. The first rep I talked to only offered me the SR, but, for some reason, the second rep I talked to really liked me and said she'll look into other options for me and came back with the One X and ION.

I've had experience with both phones. Exchanged my Skyrocket for the i777. Dev sucks. Processor's slower. Stuck with Touchwiz isn't particularly the best thing in the world. One of the best decisions I've ever done in my entire life.
I had to have my gs2 replaced last Friday, and sure enough when the replacement got here, it has screen issues. So I called today to try and get this one replaced, and sure enough, I was given an option for everything BUT the One X. FML. I decided just to keep my jacked up screen. They are however out of the gs2, @and it is no longer on the website.

Not sure if they'd realize they were all out of the I777 after they actually tried to process it but this is what I was told. Although I did try it via live chat.

Haha yeah I saw that. Its just that right now I have a shattered screen LG Shine Plus and I need a new phone. Its usable but very annoying and I really don't want to hold out 3 weeks for a new phone. But on the other hand I'm not sure what I would get. The Galaxy S2 was on my mind but I know ill have buyers remorse just thinking about what I could have with the HTC Amaze. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm going to start a new contract with it.
The devil (iPhone 4S) is tempting me though

Well the release date for the galaxy was unknown until a week or so ago. When I called Telus last week they claimed to not know. So....put that together with HTC Canada's tweet. It should be out next week but the CS reps at Telus either aren't informed or aren't allowed to say.
Makes sense to keep quiet about it if you think about it. Sales of the Samsung will drop if people know the Amaze is a week away. They count on ppl's impatience. I was very close to getting the galaxy but am now going to test my patience and wait for the Amaze so I can see them both side by side.

I was going to get the galaxy nexus but thinking of it now its going to be quite awhile before telus gets it. Considering there finally getting these phones now and thell want to get the most out of them. Telus has great plans but in regards to the phones and release dates its kind of ****ty.

I still do not see how people are not able to see that the Skyrocket and the Tmobile Galaxy S2 are nearly identical which would also mean they would have the same problems. Same Phone, different carrier, same ****.

I never touched the T-Mobile version of this phone...I have att not t mobile so I never had a reason to bother with messing with the TM version. I wanted to play with it, I did and now I am trading it...if you dont like it go throw a ***** fit somewhere else. Thank you!

Probably not losing as much as you think. Plus if you buy all the accessories and S crap they'll be making bank $$. $200 for Rezound $130 for Nexus sounds legit loool.
I'm also skeptical about this, got email from samsung and decided to search on xda and here i am. For my rezound its 200, but they are also offering $135 for my Hero S. Is this legit?
$15 for my Fascinate. Wowza. $200 for the Rez wouldnt be bad if we could get the GSM Nexus from google, but it wouldn't do much good if still w/ Verizon.
Before you guys get all excited about this, you should go to the Verizon S III forums and read about the issues that phone has. Horrible signal reception, locked bootloader, as well as other issues.

Still doesn't solve the fact that Samsung has crap radios. I have my Droid Charge as a backup still and it is night and day in radios compared to HTC phones. Unless you go GSM, forget about it.

This is interesting...it appears Samsung is going for market penetration with the phone and trying to get as many people on the phone as they can, then allowing customers to sell to customers. Only downside I've heard is the signal quality, and even that I've only heard about on the forums. I can't tell you how many people I know have switched to the GS III. And every one of them is just giddy about their new GS III. This is people who previously couldn't care less about their phone, very non-technical. At least in my smallish circle, it's quickly becoming the iPhone of Android. Wonder if that's Samsung's plan...
Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy with my Rezound with no intention of changing. Just making an observation.

a buddy of mine told me that if you currently own a tbolt and call Verizon Wireless complaining about certain issues, they replace it with a Rezound. Has anyone heard anything about this?
If you get your Thunderbolt replaced for valid insurance purposes, they will replace it with a rezound since most, but not all, Verizon stores are out of Thunderbolts.
Some times, though, you won't be offered a rezound. Rather, you may get offered a LG Revolution... which sucks.

You have to push a little if they don't offer it. We got my wife's Charge replaced with a Rezound last night. Took some prodding, they wanted to offer a Stratosphere or Spectrum or Nexus. When we pushed, they offered the Rezound or Bionic as well.
Just had my Thunderbolt replaced for a broken screen through the insurance of Verizon and I still got a Tbolt for a replacement . Guess they found some more.....

Same here. When I talked to the Rep at Asurion about my phone (sucky data connection) I hinted about the rezoned replacement. He told me that they have plenty of TBs around. Which is fine, I like the TB when it's working, with a good ROM it doesn't really matter what the phone is to me.

I think he's talking about my phone being replaced under the phone insurance program (Asurion). This is my 3rd TB from them so I think it's paid off. It's the first phone I bought insurance on and I'm glad I did. Having to cough up several hundred dollars for a new phone would suck.
Edit: Looks like they are out of refurbs at Asurion. I got a brand spanking new TB yesterday. It works beautifully (for now) I'm going to let it sit stock for a few days to make sure but then Jester's ICS will be on there in no time.

The Rezound. Personal preference, but the big part for me is the SD card. Yes, the Nexus has a slightly larger screen, and is, well, a Nexus device, but overall I just really have liked HTC's devices.

Very hard decision for me. Both phones are awesome. I think I would go with the rezound because Ik if I got the galaxy nexus I would miss having an HTC device. Although I do love the galaxy nexus

I know this was already answered but I thought I would share my (almost) awesome experience. Went into Big Red last week with my dead bolt. Employee took me through the crap troubleshooting process and set up the replacement order. Come to find out the order was for a GS3. Would have been sad to leave the amazing bolt community but hey, it's a new phone. Anyways, I get the package and low and behold... It's a friggin LG Lucid Went back to Verizon and eventually got another bolt. Just goes to show you never know what these guys will do.

So today I changed over to the S4 from the One..
I was on my 3rd One due to minor defects. I could have lived with the last one I had, defect wise, but today it died a horrible death.
I was not rooted and the device was in stock form. I cycle daily and use the MapMyRide app to record my rides.
Today I headed out and the battery was fully charged. I went 42 miles and this took me about 4 hours of total time with red lights and traffic.
Get home and the One is dead! Ok, maybe the battery drained as the app does use GPS. Never had this issue before but it's all that I could think happened.
Nope... I tried everything short of CPR to revive it with no luck. Went to AT&T store and they tried everything. No dice!
They offered to exchange it for another HTC One but also said that I could get another phone if I wanted and they would waive the restocking fee.
After much debate I decided to go with the S4..
Please do not think this is an HTC One -v- Galaxy S4 thread as it is not!
I will be keeping an eye on this forum and maybe once HTC works the bugs out I will sell the S4 and be back.

I think the One was the best phone I have ever owned. But man HTC needs to shore up it's QC.
I already miss Sense and blink feed.. :crying:
The S4 is pretty nice as well but overall I'd prefer the One minus the QC issues..

Yeah, sadly HTC does not have as much budget as Samsung or Apple =\
I got to play with an s4 today. I definitely prefer the one only because I get sick of phones pretty quickly and I was already itching to get rid of the s3 (i even picked up a nexus 4 because I wanted something different) so to own the s4 wouldn't be much different than owning the 3. I did also get to play with a black HTC one today and wow I loved it in black. I wanted it in black at first until I got the silver and it grew on me and didn't want the black anymore. Until I saw it today. Lol I'm definitely going to use the upgrade I have on my other line in June for a black one. hopefully by then the qc issues will be addressed.

I was not rooted and the device was in stock form. I cycle daily and use the MapMyRide app to record my rides.
Today I headed out and the battery was fully charged. I went 42 miles and this took me about 4 hours of total time with red lights and traffic.
Get home and the One is dead! Ok, maybe the battery drained as the app does use GPS. Never had this issue before but it's all that I could think happened.
Nope... I tried everything short of CPR to revive it with no luck. Went to AT&T store and they tried everything. No dice!
They offered to exchange it for another HTC One but also said that I could get another phone if I wanted and they would waive the restocking fee.
After much debate I decided to go with the S4..
Please do not think this is an HTC One -v- Galaxy S4 thread as it is not!
I will be keeping an eye on this forum and maybe once HTC works the bugs out I will sell the S4 and be back.

I already miss things about the One.. Call me crazy but I really liked blink feed.
Funny thing was when I 1st pre-ordered the One I was willing to root or use an alternate launcher just to rid the device of it. After using it though, it's easily one of the best features of the device!
I am sure I will be back.. The S4 is nice as well, but I have always been an HTC fan..
Sense is also much better than TW in my opinion.

I wish I had a better luck of the draw when it came to the QC of the devices I got..
I will give it a bit and follow the QC progress of the One. It really is an awesome device!
At least you realize it's awesomeness and not just a Sammy fan boy. There will be plenty of devices left once you come back. Blink feed is tight imo. This phone is just smooth all around. Once again good luck again my friend enjoy.

The One is a LOT smoother than the S4..
I have a ton of crap disabled and the S4 still lags a bit but I believe that's a JB 4.2.2 issue..

my s4 went up for sale the minute it arrived. the htc one is the better device.
Should of got "The One" from Costco. 90 day return policy no restock fee. Bring them back until you have one with no gaps or anything. That's what I did. Ps The One deserves to be capitalized because it's that danm good.
