awesome, only 6 weeks from release
in htc time, thats lightspeed
i dont have time this week to mess w/ kernels (wont be at home much in linux) but if the source is good and builds/flashes w/o modification ill put out a simple overclock kernel most likely
fwiw, this looks like the first ics source release for a vzw htc phone....sad really
Does this mean CM10/AOSP is a possibility or is that something else that we don't have access to (I've seen Radio Interface Layer mentioned, but I don't know how that relates to source code)? Thanks for all the hard work guys! Feel better Hasoon

HTC usually puts out good source (when they release it that is)
But there are exceptions on occasion

Here is the first Honeycomb leak for the Flyer in RUU form. Now that I see someone else has access to the leak my source has authorised me sharing it.
I'll be posting it pre-rooted and MCR'd etc. next week when my new Flyer arrives, in the interim, flash with caution - at your own risk - and enjoy!
EDIT: It's not recommended to flash this ROM on it's entirety - I will release a fully tested build soon. This is recommended for developers only!
Please note HTC classes this as an early Beta!

Firstly, uh what? Was it officially released by HTC? No? Then it's a leak my friend.
Secondly, the post clearly says it's a Beta.

If someone could grab a couple of screenshots I can post here and send to a friend for their news post that would be much appreciated.

For anyone flashing this. Just be aware. If you have a S-Off device which is not a test unit from HTC it will get stuck at the HTC logo. You need an official S-Off device for it to work.
Everyone else will need to wait until someone packages it for CWM.

@Paul: have you changed anything in the boot.img?
CleanROM 2.0 ICS Edition can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21568953

How to flash
Place ROM on SD Card
You must extract boot.img and flash via fastboot. If you dont know how to do that i have CleanFLASH that will do it for you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416791
This should leave you in fastboot so you then need to boot to recovery!
WIPE ALL DATA. DO NOT ASK IF YOU CAN RESTORE FROM BACK UP!

What I *think* is because we needed an updated radio. Thats just my first guess and only a guess.
I am sure there are a lot of bugs in it to. WiFi and text messages do work however.
Just deodexed the latest ICS ROM. Added root/busybox. Here is the link. Didnt test it yet but I made it with the Android Kitchen with the config file I made and updated su files.

Can this be flashed using 4EXT or must it be renamed and flashed like any other stock ROM? (relocking bootloader, renaming file, etc)
Curious because I wanted to update to the "R2" version released by football..but might as well use this if it's already rooted and such, save a little time.
By the way, anyone know what the difference is between the latest ICS OTA and the "R2" version posted by football? (it wasn't posted in the Amaze forums, but it was posted on his filefactory account)
Kind if irritated that I even updated to ICS at all right now (used the OTA) because it seems to have totally borked WiFi calling (there's some kind of crazy delay that appears ~10 minutes into a phone call... other users getting the same thing). Really didn't want to S-OFF and revert to GB, though, so hoping this "R2" release fixed that
sorry im just a little confused. ive had multiple android devices all which have been rooted and not all of them have had the bootloader unlocked. now this is my first htc product so im not really familiar with s-off. but i bought this phone thinking there were going to be lots of devs and everything working on it and this has killed my plans . i know patience is a virtue . i was just curious. i mean droid razrs have plenty of roms available and they are still on a locked bootloader
It all has to do with the exploit used to root the device. HTC has to have an unlocked bootloader so that you can use the bootloader to write the root files to the system folder.

if you have an unlocked b/l you can flash a custom recovery img which allows you to then flash a root package in that recovery
there is no current working exploit manually root the stock rom otherwise

What does this mean for the DNA scene? Does it increase our chances at finding a post-OTA unlock method, or is it more useful for ROM/custom feature development purposes?

From what I gather it's possible, though not likely there is an exploit for post OTA unlock in the source. It will help development in that 2.04 ROMS such as Viper1.2 will soon have compatible custom kernels whenever the developers of their respective kernels update them.
I suppose there can be other possible benefits but I have not heard anyone mention them.

I guess she is used to stellar battery life, not having all the bloat, being over clocked and fast as all get out on Viper rom.
The area she works gets better signal with old radio's while I get better with new radio's??

Look don't take offense. This phone is great, but when you get used to certain things is hard to go back.

I guess she is used to stellar battery life, not having all the bloat, being over clocked and fast as all get out on Viper rom.
The area she works gets better signal with old radio's while I get better with new radio's??
No wife tether
Missing a few root only apps, missing data since she can't restore.
Look don't take offense. This phone is great, but when you get used to certain things is hard to go back.
That's all

lol No offense at all. Just most women don't desire their phones to be tinkered with, at least from what I've seen. I had to spend a long minute convincing my girlfriend to tinker with hers

Now as soon as we get a new Andy she hands it over for pimping.
And sorry, I have just saw a few arguments over this topic and was trying to avoid it

Unfortunately mine uses her phone, a One X+, for work [and it was given to her by her company] so unless it becomes unusable, I don't get to play with it

Wait a minute, your wife wants you to root her DNA so you can put a "wife tether" on it?
