can i flash i9100t roms to i9100 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I live in Israel and I want to flash official israeli ics rom to my galaxy s2 i9100 ....is it possible?

No. You would brick the phone.

But there's no hardware differences between this versions as I know only different modems so the 3g would work normally...so why should this brick my phone?

Australian/Oceania variants
GT-I9100T
The GT-I9100T (sold by Vodafone Australia and Telstra, and some carriers around the world except Europe and the Americas) is virtually identical to the I9100 and is functionally equivalent. There are claims on the XDA-Developers forum that this variant there are some differences in software, giving slightly better performance in the 850 MHz WCDMA band.

Info taken from wiki. In theory seems yes, but you don't have to. Your phone will work with any ROM designed for i9100.

Sorry about the wrong info. :/

YES, it is possible.
Do the following when flashing such Roms:
1. Backup your present ROM just incase.
2. Do normal wiping necessary before just like you want to flash a new ROM (just ask for help if you don't know what I'm talking about)
3. Flash the ROM
4. Flash back your modem (also known as baseband version)
5. Flash an I9100 custom kernel e.g Siyah or speedmod (don't flash any CF-ROOT kernel)
6. Fix permissions (under advanced)
7. Reboot your device.
All should go on as expected
Good luck

I have a I9100T. Can I use regular I9100 firmware?

Hi,
I have an I9100T. It's currently Vodafone branded, with Vodafone boot animations etc. It is unlocked. I'd like to move to a stock, unbranded firmware.
Can I use regular I9100 firmware?
Thanks
Just a follow up because my question hasn't been answered.
It seems that hardware wise the I9100 and I9100T are identical, the model is determined by the ROM being used.
I flashed a stock I9100 ROM and have had no issues.
I have the same question and would appreciate if anyone know or have tried to flash with regular i9100 firmware. I just don't want to brick the phone..any reply is appreciated. Thanks
Edit: I flashed regular i9100 to change language and it's OK..Confirmed!!!!

[Q] i9305T Can use i9300/i9300T ROMs?

Hi all,
I have the following phones in my family:
1x i9300T
2x i9305T
I have successfully used i9300 ROMs on my i9300T and just flashed the T modem. It works flawlessly.
We recently got 2 of the i9305T phones (Telstra in Australia, 4G network). I've been told that it is hardware identical with the i9300, it just has the LTE chip. Does that mean I can flash the standard chainfire CF-Root image to it to get room and CWM, and then flash any i9300 ROM to the device and find the appropriate modem?
I don't want to attempt to flash before I can be reasonably sure that flashing the wrong ROM won't brick it. As these are reasonably new devices, Google doesn't return much info.
Thanks all,
- Naz.
The hardware isn't same.. it has a different revision chip.
In other words....... You CAN'T try ROM's made for the GT-I9300T on GT-I9305T

I guess it's going to work on both model.

GT-I9100T Firmware Request

Hi guys, i want a firmware or custom rom for galaxy gt-i9100t, if there is any rom after 4.1.2 ! , also i have a question: the normal rom for g-ti9100 could be installed on gt-i9100t !!?
There isn't any stock firmware >4.1.2. Yes, you can flash I9100 stock roms on the I9100T, but you may have to use a modem from an I9100T rom if you're using the phone on a network belonging to a carrier who sold the I9100T.
okay 10x for help, i'm so greatfull
What about a i9100 custom rom?! Can i use it to i9100t !?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yes, of course. the I9100 & I9100T (I also have an I9100T) are exactly the same except for a very slight difference in radio output, achieved by firmware - the modem.
If you flash an I9100 stock rom, it will include an I9100 modem which might (not always though) mess with your connectivity, and as I hinted at in my PP, in my experience, using modems which have been bundled with stock roms released by carriers which sold the I9100T tends to result in the best connectivity. You can check these by searching the I9100T firmwares on Samfirmware, which lists the baseband (modem), and you can then find/download whatever modem in question here.
However, if after flashing an I9100 stock rom your connectivity is OK, no need to change the modem. Only change the modem if your connectivity isn't great. Custom roms don't include modems, so flashing a custom rom won't change your current modem.
i got it, thank you very much for your help and your notes about the modem thing :good: .

Galaxy SII I9100T

Hey, I couldn't find forum for my device, I wanted to know if there is any rom to my S2 i9100T?
I'm sick of the stock rom (running on android 2.3.5) and I wanted to upgrade, thanks alot!
The I9100T is exactly the same phone as the I9100 save for a slight difference in radio output - you can use any firmware for the I9100 on a I9100T. The only thing you need to watch out for is the modem; I very much recommend you stick to modems bundled with stock roms released by carriers which sold the I9100T (at least in the first instance; particularly if you're using the phone on one of those networks). As you can flash modems independently of roms, this is no big deal.

Yes.
The easiest way is to use Philz kernel. Read the first few posts carefully. There are download links in post #3. Just make sure you match the rom version with the correct/similar kernel.
In most respects the "T' is the same as the i9100 international but with slightly different frequencies for the modem. (It will work with the same custom roms but stick with the i9100T modem)
