Enable Bootsound - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks, as a noob here i got question about enabling boot sound on my galaxy S2 with newest
[Rom]GT-I9100 Resurrection Remix JB v3.0.4[16/08][AOKP JB PRE](AROMA+OTA)
I found a tutorial by bajee11:
Tutorial
How to add Sound for Boot Animation
You will require Es File Manager, Root Explorer or any file manager that could mount system as writeable and navigate to root.
Volume Adjustment
Navigate to /system/
Open build.prop
Add the following line: persist.sys.boot_volume=100
Save the file and Exit
Delete build.prop.bak (This file gets created when you modify the original build.prop)
Boot Sound Selection
Rename the mp3 file you want to use to: boot_audio.mp3
Navigate to /system/media
Paste boot_audio.mp3
Now Reboot your phone and Enjoy!
but unfortunatly it's not working. PLEASE if anyone can help, tell me here.

Nobody can help u with the same for now dude, since the Issue is with AOKP build and it has to be addressed by them, so for now u have to live without it

i think u just need to rename ur desired bootsound to PowerOn.ogg ( capital P and O ) and paste it in system/etc and set premissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot ur phone

[Q] boot animation

does some one succeded to change boot animation ?
Yes, i found a nice guide somewhere in a thread in this forums. Sry, but can't remember where, maybe you can find it by using the search ;-) .
the problem is that zip file dont work for sga
The tutorial i folled, worked by moving and copying some files in the filesystem (root needed)...
I'll search it tomorrow if you/no one else finds a link to the guide.

hello guys i want to share how to change your bootanimation zip to custom animation,
im currently still using froyo, so if you use custom rom the steps might be different,
but should work for GBKPE too,
i download the bootanimation files from this thread
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538
here's the steps :
things u need :
-ROOTED ACE
-ROOT Explorer installed or similiar app
-rename the animation you download to "bootanimation.zip"
-paste the bootanimation.zip you downloaded into your sdcard, anywhere is fine
-use root explorer open the system/bin
-look for the "samsungloop" file, move it to your sdcard first, just in case, you can either move it or copy it again to another place, (in my case, i copy it into system/ and another to my sdcard)
-go to system/bin ,look for "bootanimation", and rename it to "samsungloop", if you use ROOT explorer, don't forget to change the previlege first, change R/W permission first to R/O,,,(the bootanimation is not the file where you rename your animation you downloaded to be bootanimation.zip)
-put the "bootanimation.zip" (the file you downloaded and rename it's names) to
system/media
-in system/media, there are 2 files if i'm not mistaken, bot of the files are with the extension .qmq, just rename it with root explorer to .qm extension file
-reboot your galaxy ACE
-done
if you follow my steps well, you should see your animation after reboot, if it's just a blank screen, then you do some mistakes in the steps,
feel free to ask if you still don't understand , sory for my bad english though

[Q] Working ICS Nexus bootanimation for LPQ

Hello i am having some difficulties trying to install the Nexus Prime boot animation onto my ressurection 1.0 rom.
as soon as i try to flash the zip , it shows a conflict because of my rom begin LPJ and the zip being XWKJ2
is there anyway to bypass this ?
http://www.mediafire.com/?xud5itp25thpdpe
all credit for the file goes to BigBang
Why don't you just pull the bootanimation.zip from that file and put it in your /system/media ?
i was always i bit cautious about messing around in root explorer but i did some searching about the root system/media folder , extracted the bootanimation.zip ( and the sanim.zip just to be sure )
placed them into the corresponding folders and it worked !, thanks for the info

I flashed your zip, and the boot sound works. I wanted to make my custom bootanimation with PSX boot sound, so i put bootanim.mp3 inside bootanimation.zip but it doesn't play the sound ;/ I checked your bootanim.mp3 and it is 128kbps so i converted mine to 128kbps too but it doesn't work as well. Can you tell me the way to make that boot sound working?

Boot-up animation:
1) download a new boot animation .zip file (I put mine in /sdcard/downloads)
2) open Root Explorer
3) navigate to where you put the new .zip
4) copy the new .zip
5) paste it into /data/local
6) rename it "bootanimation.zip." (if it isn't already)
Also, if you want to change the startup/shutdown sounds:
Startup sound:
1) DL a new sound file
2) convert to a .wav file (using Winamp+.wav converter/iTunes)
3) put on SD card
4) open Root Explorer
5) navigate to /system/etc
6) rename "PowerOn.wav" to "PowerOn.wav.old"
7) navigate to where you placed the DL'ed .wav file
8) copy
9) paste into /system/etc
10) rename it "PowerOn.wav"
Shutdown sound:
1) DL a new sound file
2) convert to .ogg file (I used Winamp+.ogg converter)
3) put on SD card
4) open Root Explorer
5) navigate to /system/media/audio/ui
6) rename "shutdown.ogg" to "shutdown.ogg.old"
7) navigate to the DL'ed .ogg file
8) copy
9) paste into /system/media/audio/ui

Hello, first sorry for my english, im from Argentina.
I can't add sound to my bootanimation, I have a Xperia "U". In /system/etc i haven't got "PowerOn.wav", however I put my downloaded wav file in that folder, and i have called "PowerOn.wav". Nevertheless it doesn't work.
I tried to modify my bootanimation.zip but it's different from yours (3D sony.zip), it has more files inside. Watch it on your own: www mediafire com/?x003h0090c0s069
What I have to do to make it work? How do I have to modify my file? Ty.

Hi
Please when creating mp3 file the file name must be bootanim.mp3 and make sure when you put it in the bootanimation.zip file use the store option for the compression method and to add images just replace the *.jpg files in the part0 folder in the bootanimation.zip file also. your file names for the images must be in sequence eg. image01.jpg, image02.jpg etc...
hi
There is no music when turned on, in what could be the problem?

BootAnimation(LG Solution)

I make this because I tried to change the bootanimation in my LG Optimus L7 II but I can't, all the tutorials doesn't work for my device and here I found the way, it is on cust/poweron (I found that adress in Bin/bootanimation file).
===REQUIREMENTS===
* You have to be ROOT user
* Have a custom bootanimation.zip
* Download Root explorer
The key is not only in:
[/system/media/bootanimation.zip]
You have to change the custom bootanimation.zip on [/cust /poweron/bootanimation.zip] too.
So first of all put the custom bootanimation.zip on the external SD, then with the Root explorer go to system/media and replace the original file "bootanimation.zip" to the new one on your external SD. Then go to cust/poweron and do the same thing. Now your device's company bootanimation is replaced for the custom that you've downloaded.
Here I upload a random bootanimation for you to test it and then you can search another which you like more.
Peace guys, hope this works for you!

In my P710, i only change in /system/media/bootanimation.zip, and it works, till i change bootanimation packed with UOT kitchen canges.
After that, no matter how i change bootanimation.zip only in /system/media/, it stays same.
I try to see your procedure, but on my P710, is no /poweron under /custom folder...
I found bootanimation.zip in /data/local/ folder, and only delete it. No more problem with changing bootanimation.zip only in /system/media/.

Please refer to this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822973
That guy refers to a dead link.
However Drivingdroids' guide says:
How to install:download attachment.1) Download zip file (Samkeyboard.zip) from the link below.2) Using root explorer or same kind of tool, place these files and set the permissions -Only Deodexed. (Screenshots yet to come)Touchwiz.xml put in /system/etc/permissions and set permission to rw-r--r-- (I have attached a screenshot, see it if you dont understand the permission stuff)libdhwr.so put in /system/lib and set permission to rw-r--r--libXt9_core.so put in /system/lib and set permission to rw-r--r--T9db folder(with all files inside, copy this whole folder)*put in /system and set permission to rwxr-xr-xAxT9IME.apk put in /system /app and set permission to rw-r--r--
Before I wipe everything and test it on a KK rom, you think i can do it also without the zip file (taking the files i need from the zip of the sammy rom)?

Yeah first do a Backup of the present rom whatever you have, and try taking the files and copying them and fixing the permissions !! It should work
Dont forget to hit thanks if this helps you
Thank you, I'll give a try asap!
I've found (somewhere, I can't remember where) a zip file with all the files mentioned above. so I installed it on dirty unicorns, wipe cache, dalvik, fix permissions and it works! but it isn't the same keyboard of my old rom, it is samsungkeybord of ICS (quite old..). So I extracted NeatRom zip, but the files I need dont exist! (I extract it on windows and try to "search", so I'm pretty sure there is nothing). In preload/symlink/system/app the only apk that reminds to a keyboard is "SamsungIME.apk" but it refuses to install on KK and pushing it to system/app of the new rom seems to be useless.. Here the zip file and SamsungIME.apk, maybe can be useful.. Some advices? Thank you.
