Questions about Sola - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi
I want to know a few things about Xperia Sola before buying one
The most important thing to me is games , can Sola handle games average and big ones??? . And what can you tell me about the Sola's camera??.
Since it has a duel core cpu is it good for multitasking , is it fast or slow .
If you had to choose between Sola and Arc S ,which one would you prefer?
And one last thing , for how long do you think Sony will keep supporting Xperia Sola?
Thanks in advance

no one has Xperia Sola?????

Sola is the same as Xperia P and I have used an Xperia P for a bit. It will run most games fine and they are updating the compatability for the chipset as well. It is pretty smooth and the dual core should be good for multitasking. Its only real weakness is the 512 of ram it has which is not the greatest. If the 2011 line of Xperias can run ICS then the sola should too. Sony is definitely going to continue supporting the NXT series of phones and has done a good job so far. Sola is much better than Arc S.

For me Sola looked ideal on paper, but little after getting the phone it was rather a let down compared to the alternative with which i tested out earlier (Samsung galaxy ace 2, which was 15% cheaper). The only thing this phone is better at if movie capture quality and if it's not really that important I'd recommend everyone to choose Ace 2.

Why is that, the Ace 2 is the same hardware with a arguable worse screen? It does have a little more RAM which is nice, but it is one ugly phone and Samsung Ui is trash.

Ok thanks now I am satisfied.
I am going to buy a Sola

[Q] Which phone to buy?

Hi
one of my friends want to buy Samsung Galaxy Ace... n ofcourse i recommended it, but the dealer she went to, recommended sony xperia neo V saying that there are alot of customer complaints for Ace.
I just wanted to ask, what are the known issues for ace?
i personally use Galaxy Mini and Galaxy S2 and on neither of my devices i had any issues (that were manufacturer related)
thanks!
Go for Ace. I have been using ace for about 8 months now and there are no complaints.
the only complain is the battery life but it can be redemed if u know how to save battery and with some apps
He should ask what are those complains about. I absolutely love my ace, he's still a baby with 1year old and never got sick.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk
If you ask this in the Xperia Forum, you'll get completely opposite answers ... Ya better check here ... and Let's be honest. Xperia Neo is way better than MY (cause I have one) lovely ACE. It has 1ghz Processor and can record at 720... But see it by yourself!
mm i dont know about others.but they are wrong go with SONY ERICSSON XPERIA NEO V
better specs dude wvga, secondary camera ,512 mb ram and 1ghz processer and best one it is planned upgrade to v4.0 awsome. but it will be costlier than ace.............
go with SONY ERICSSON XPERIA NEO V

+1 ... I wish I have some money on my pocket...
RAM is a major issue with this phone. Go for Xperia Neo V!
lol ok the answers were all mixes xD yet thank u all for replying
i totally love samsung.. infact want to work for it one day
what i heard though was ace had some signal dropping issues, which ofcourse m sure can b fixed with some upgrade (its just tht those who are totally novice and want to use a smart phone, dont really knw how to and then complaint!)
having said tht, my friend is also a novice so i think xperia neo will b good option.. jus tht its battery life SUCKS!
abt battery optimization.. (i've a youtube channel xD http://youtube.com/EdenDroidChannel)
i definitely knw how to optimize battery hehe
thank u all!!

It has to be the Neo V. Sony Ericsson have already released a beta ICS build and it is guaranteed an upgrade early next year. The Neo V is superior in every way to the Ace. Official CM support and official ICS. Better processor, better screen, more RAM and the list goes on and on....
Sent from a phone with an app.
Go for ace .
As much as I'd wish every person in this planet to buy the same phone as me (the bigger the community, the better), I have to admit that the Ace can't compete with the Neo V.
go for ace!
dude go for neo v. its not coz ace is a bad performer. when it comes to android go for hardware. neo v is ll bit costly but obviously a better choice plus its getting ics.
Go for the Neo V , it's much better

selling G2x to buy neo v??

selling my G2x to buy Xperia neo v because of good support of sony and already ics on it.. is it a wise decision to go to single core after using a dual core??

Well it depends on your requirements
if you need ICS & Good Rom development support then Neo V is way better than g2x , but when it comes to screen size & dual cpu goodies guess G2x has the upper hand.

have you checked specs of ray? even smaller screen.
in my opinion don't go on lower specs phone.
g2x have good specs, only lg's software kills it
if you need good developer support, neo has nice support.
g2x also has nice support but don't know how much people could done because of nvidia's closed hands to devs, at least that's how it was when i was thinking to buy 2x, maybe things changed from then, you would know better
if ur gaming crzy then definetly no becos g2x has ULP gpu which gives par more better performance than adreno 205 on neo v
I'd definitely say no. The SGS2 is a flagship class phone and much stronger than the Neo V. The Neo V is worse on all fronts.

Xperia U is not a great phone with limited memory and 512mb ram,if you want a flagship from Sony NXT series it should be Xperia S,I don't suggest Xperia P due to its limited internal memory of 16gb
myself too waiting for few months for xperia S's prize go down and my neo v is only 4 months old
xperia U is not a good choice , small screen , only 4GB storage (no card slot)....
Take a look at these phones...
Xperia S , Xperia ION (will also be available as a non LTE Edition SOON ) , Xperia P , Xperia sola , Xperia neo L [DUAL CORES]
SAMSUNG GALAXY S 3 (Ugly design but powerful hardware) [QUAD CORE]
HTC ONE S ,HTC ONE X [QUAD CORES]
MOTO RAZR , RAZR MAXX [DUAL CORES]

[Q] [Confusion]_Xperia U_should buy !?

Hi,
As subject says.
I am having right now white xperia mini pro But i am planning to buy Xperia U. Should I buy???
would u suggest to buy? if not may u would lik to tell my why
I will be really thankful if u help me, i m really confused
The only real differences are the Software and the design.
My mom got an Xperia U and it's really awesome, the only downsides are the camera (bad in darkness) and no MicroSD card slot.
The Xperia U has a very beautiful design and a camera shutter button. The One V is thin and simple but the chin is very ugly and so unneccesary.
On the software you'll have to tell yourself, I personally like the Sony UI and Sony has some great apps, but also a lot of bloatware, I've only had Xperia Phones so I haven't had a TouchWiz or Sense phone, but from what I've seen I think that Sense is really ugly EXCEPT for Sense 4 (I think the One V has Sense 4) which is actually really beautiful and ICS optimized, also the Xperia U won't get ICS for a few months but if that doesn't concern you then I recommend the Xperia U.

I won't recommend xperia U.Personally I don't have it.My friend recently bought it and he regrets it.The main draw backs are no support of Devs(atleast for now).No ICS out of the box.Although sony promised an update we don't know when(correct me if I'm wrong)
So a better choice would be (according to me) Galaxy Nexus. It has got the best dev support. You get "instant" updates. And stock experience is what I like.So add a few bucks get Gnex.Only down side is bit a lag in 3d games but better than Xperia U.And other alternative is keep your xperia mini and get the Nexus 7 tablet if u aren't committed to a phone .
Hope I helped You.Think twice before buying

I was gonna recommend Galaxy Nexus too but it's a little more expensive.
You're right, Xperia U has a small community, but it's still pretty new and Sony Mobile isn't that big in the US, mostly sold in Sweden and Japan. Also Gingerbread SUCKS but if you're patient you can wait for ICS, and this guy just got ICS for his Xperia Mini so he's used to GB.

I think Gnex is not in India i guess, correct if i am wrong.
The phones just launched and the dev support will be there slowly i think.
Out of the Box Ics is not a importnt thing when u can get it by updating later or sooner
I already got dell streak with 5inch screen and ipad. so i guess i wont go for gnex7 tab

and whats internal storage size and sd there??
@Moderaters.........Please close this thread, as the problem/confusion is solved. Got me Xperia u
pm the forum mod with your thread link posting here wouldnt help
Well you could always hope for a direct Jelly Bean upgrade, but Sony are so lazy with skinning Jelly Bean so I wouldn't think so.
But Jelly beans on Xperia U .......eehhhhh
wen Ics update decreases the RAM then i think JB will kill it. i mean JB will be requireing alot space.
btw, any1 know eta for ics on U

[Q] Xperia Mini - Xperia Ray

Hello all great people ! Sorry for opening a new thread, but i would like your opinions.. Tomorrowi am going to change my Xperia Mini for an Xperia Ray for 20-30 €....is this change good? Or maybe shouldn't i do this, and keep my Xperia Mini?
Thanks in advance.
Actually Xperia ray is better than mini in every aspect but buying a 2011-line model in 2013 is a bit weird...Anyways please don't create these kinds of threads in general section
Best Regards,
AJ
Dont miss the ICON FARM!
For 20/30€ it's okay, but remember ray is an old phone, too!

I sold my Arc to get a Ray and so glad I did, I think it (Ray) will be the only Phone I've ever owned that I won't be selling on as it's a gorgeous little device that does everything I need, although will still be updating to a new Xperia ASAP, just not sure which, the Z is a bit big for me and if Sony stays with the current trend of releasing mini tablet sized Phones then I'll happily stick with my Ray.

Sadly, with 1ghz single core cpu, ray will never run ubuntu mobile. And also 512mb ram makes me little bit disappointed. but overall with that price , ray offer a good spec.

[Q] Buying Xperia U or Xperia P?

I'm thinking of buying the Xperia U but I have a few questions.
How is the call sound quality, headphone quality and loudspeaker quality like?
How is the screen quality like and how are the graphics like on high end HD games?
Is the browsing very fast on this phone? Does zooming in and out on desktop websites lag a lot?
Has anyone's screen stopped working or has their been any hardware failures that have happened to a lot of xperia u's?
Finally, how long do you think it will be before the phone becomes out of date? I want to use it for maybe 3 years after purchase so I need to know if it is future proof.
Sorry for asking so many questions but I want to be entirely sure the phone is ideal for me. Thanks if you bothered to read this far and double thanks if you answered any of my questions.
In order.
Brilliant,
Brilliant but storage is an issue
Good
Nope
1 year at most.

I would recommend you to increase the budget a bit and buy Xperia P instead Xperia U.
Cause 1GB RAM will give you better smoothness than XU's 512 MB RAM.
Also SONY is still keeping XP in their mind while releasing Official updates like JB. [XU have Unofficial JB Port]
No offense to the XU users. It's just what i think that while buying android handset, it's better to go for a better hardware spec. Off course if u plan to increase your budget.
Guy above is right, i still regret buying xperia sola, when i could pay 30 more euros and buy xperia p... It is MUCH better and worth the money... I also think that its developing community is more active than xperia u... No offense of course
Also, u should know that a device like mine it is said that because sony reached the target of sales for this device, now they dont give a damn about it.... We all rely on xda to get jelly bean while xperia P DOES HAVE official jelly bean from sony...
Finally, technology is evolving SO FAST that u need to buy an expensive device so that it can compete with future device... (my opinion)
Does the extra 512MB RAM make a big difference from xperia u to xperia p? The processor and GPU are the same but stuff like screen and camera is better on the xperia p
Trust me, xperia sola with 512 mb of ram barely gives 150mb available, logically xperia p should give u at LEAST 300 mb of free ram...
As far as i know, true gaming devices must have at least 1gb of ram...
Any other comments on the Xperia u? What do you use it for on a daily basis?
If u dont play heavy games then it will do the job BUT IF U:
1) Are sure that 4 gb of storage is not enough (like me). Remember xperia u cannot take sd card...
2) Want to play heavy games, i am pretty sure that xperia p will do better
If u meet either the first or second condition then i urge u to buy xperia p but if u dont then feel free to buy xperia p... My sola is the same as xperia u but i can use an sd card and i must say that since i am not a hard core gamer it does the job pretty damn well
Does the xperia p have a slightly yellow tinted screen? In some videos I have seen the the white looks slightly yellow. Can anyone with an xperia P confirm whether the white is pure white or tinted yellow? Also, after upgrading the firmware to jellybean on Xperia P, do you get various problems with apps such as gallery app not working and does the phone lag or does it get faster? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to be sure before I purchase it

Actually there is no device exists which is completely error free. You just have to make it right by your self. The situation is quite same for Android Update also. Check the General Section, you will find a thread there named as - Xperia P JB Review.
Many users posted there JB experience there. That should be useful for you. And as for the Yellow Tint, Sony took care of that issue, after first few shipments of all of their models.
Hey guys ! I'm Running rooted and S-off HTC Incredible S. Its okay but outdated now. We are fully up to date in software, but the hardware is behind. Looking for a new phone is so difficult right now..
I have a budget of $300-$400 Aus. Samsung SIII is a little old now, N4 has no storage.. I wandering is Sony a good option? Would you recomend any Sony device in that price range?
Thanks

Call sound quality-good
Headphone quality-sounds good , the default headphones aren't good enough u'll surely need to buy a new 1
Loudspeaker-Totally disappointed by the loudspeaker
screen quality-Display is just awesome with 280ppi
Browsing used to lagg when I had too many apps installed..otherwise it works good
No hardware faults as such
Hahahaha there is nothing called as future-proof..U is already outdated, maybe you should go for P instead.
