The phone keeps doing a random vibrate in a specific pattern- this happens quite reguarly and has done since i updated to 2.2- i have tried factory reseting but that hasnt done nothing, the pattern is similiar to vibrate, few seconds gap, vibrate vibrate, its very annoying.
When i flashed my phone to CM7 and MadTeams Better 2.2 i did not have the vibrating issue- i have flashed it back to stock now.
Also when i close an app or come out of a menu my home screen applications and widgets often disappear for about 15 seconds which is very frustrating.
My phone is on stock 2.2 Froyo- Rooted with Universal Androot.

I had that charging problem on my old phone, it something wrong with your charger. try replace it or use a different one
with your battery problem, how heavily do you use your phone? Maybe because your charger is faulty, you go to charge it, but it doesnt charge properly. if my battery is at 1% and i put my charger in for 10 seconds, it will show 17% charged. this is obviously not charged that much, but could be what your battery is doing, so when it shows high battery level, its actually got a lower one.
Drain your battery
When on 1%, plug in your charger and leave it in until the 'Charged' notification appears in your notification bar. see if that changes battery length.

Ill give it a try tonight, and i use my phone just to text friends, phone calls, facebook/twitter and updating applications.
My phone has been charging since about 12pm, its now twenty to 2, and its on 13% charge- my signal is on 50% without- il try airplane trick.
Right i seriously need help now guys.

It says it is charging but it doesnt charge- the number changes but it goes for 80% then drop to 70% etc so i can never get a full charge.
I thought i fixed it last night when i drained it and recharged it back to as high as i could get it (94%), unlocked it this morning and it went from 70% when i locked it last night to 50%- and thats not the worst part- i sent 3 texts and it went to 15% battery, yes, 15%.
I am appaled at it and its well and truly put me off buying another Android phone or Samsung phone.
I need help now, if you guys cant fix it for me, my warranty is over from Carphone Warehouse and i cant be arsed with it.
I cant afford to simply go and buy a new phone so please dont say that kind of dumb suggestion.

Well, even i had this problem w/my G5...... it seriously sux.
My phone also loses battery quite fast.... but not as fast as yours.
Switching it off and then plugging in the charger will keep the phone off while charging it. Few seconds after you plug it in, the screen will light up and and show a battery.
Leave it this way till it is completely charged.(Press the home button if the screen goes off).

So I am on my second battery right now. The first one just decided it shouldnt turn on. I could plug the charger in and the notification light wouldnt turn on, pull the battery and it would. Well, now my second battery is doing the samething. I had left it on the charger while I was outside doing stuff, came in in the afternoon, dead phone. Pulled and replaced battery a few times, phone still wouldnt turn on. Then I plugged in the charger and no notification light would come on. So I finally pulled the battery and with the battery out I plugged in the charger and then the notification light would come on. What the hell is going on here?
Anyone else have these problems? Now I have to drive 30+ miles one way to my nearest Verizon store to replace this damn thing and I am not happy about this one bit. Anyone on here have any suggestions for me?

If you bought it from Verizon and not second hand, then you have 1 year warranty. I suggest you call Verizon's customer service and speak with them and get a replacement sent. I've done this multiple times with just about every phone I've had. 1800-922-0804 is what I dial. to get to them, press 0, then press 0 again, and it will ask for your account password, then a rep will get on the phone.

If the phone is older than 30 days, or maybe it's 14 now with Verizon, they give you a refurbished phone, if you are over that period and went to the store I'm pretty positives all they would do is order you the replacement refurb phone. 30+ miles each way is a hike, save the gas money

Just had my Rezound battery die last night. It was freezing outside and my battery was at 1%. The screen just went blank. When I got home, plugged in the charger. The notification led came on for 3 seconds then went back off again. Tried several chargers I had and pulling the battery and plugging it in.
Weird.
Verizon has the 14 day return/exchange policy now. I was at 12 days so I just went in and they replaced the battery with a brand new one from a Rezound box. I assume they will send that unit back RMA. My phone works now.
You're not the only person having battery death issues. Not sure why this is a problem on the Rezound. I recently purchased an extended battery ironically. It will be arriving tomorrow.
Here's to hoping that it won't die. I should buy some spares just in case. Make sure you call customer service and report the issue. It is tracked.
I was also having an issue charging from a dead battery (would charge just fine otherwise). The charging indicator would not stay lit, but after giving it 10 minutes or so, repeated attempts to power on would eventually work and then it would charge normally.
Had this happen several times and then reflashed the stock image. Seems to be working as it should now. However, when I got my phone it had a dead battery it wouldn't charge. So we'll see what happens.
Note: was running Senseless 1.0 and de-bloated. Stock rom kernel. If it matters....I probably didn't get a clean install when doing it all.
Rezound has a known issue that if the battery dies to far you'll need something else to charge the battery. Some people have used their old thunderbolts to give it a pre charge, buy the stand alone charger from Verizon. Or just don't let your phone discharge tthat far.

Good to know - is that all or most Rezounds? Because I wonder if I should swap mine while I still can.
Like I said, I was having that issue and after flashing the stock RUU (updated one, .6) my phone is charging a dead battery just fine (2 for 2 so far, fingers crossed).
Actually brand new in the store mine had a dead battery and it would not charge, so they gave me a new battery. Perhaps there was a fix in that updated RUU. It's just a suggestion - after I confirm this works consistently I'll see what happens with some other roms.
Alternatively, it's also possible the stock RUU doesn't let you drain the battery as far as the roms do. I was able to power back on several times until it finally wouldn't (and no led flashing at that point), but now it charges from there.
Yea, I woke up one morning and my phone was deader than a door nail. Popped on the charger and no notification light, called Verizon to whine and prepared to stop by the store to get a replacment battery. However just for kicks I plug the phone back on the charger (ok my laptop) and after 1/2 hour the notification light popped back on and the battery started to charge. Now Prior I was having a high rate of discharged getting about 2 hours of use and 5 on standby (airplane on, WiFi and Data off) and still having the high rate of discharge. I started to investigate why the phone was getting hot and discharging so fast. Now I couldn't fine the culprit (I think WIFI was the cause) but I just did a factory reset, reloaded my rom and kernal and poof, everything return to normal including much longer discharge rates and I'm much happier now (Adult Beverages and household chemicals indigestation).
If you go to HTC's website it actually has a faq on this. Their response goes pretty much like this. If you drain your battery till the phone shuts off, plug your phone in. It will flash the notification light then there will be no charging light. The light could take 20 minutes or more to turn on. I also had this problem like you guys but just put it on charge over night and it will be fine. Just don't kill it to 0 anymore.

If your phone will not power on, your battery may be drained or not seated correctly.
Tips:
If the battery is completely dead, the phone will need to charge for a few minutes and then should power on once this happens. When plugging the phone into the charging, the notification light may not light up immediately as the battery is completely dead. Let it charge for about 20 minutes before trying to power on.
Make sure you are using the AC charger that was supplied with your phone

battery discharges while plugged in and using it
ok, so this happened with the stock rom, and two other roms i had.
What would happen is if you plug the phone in, and use it, you would expect it to charge while you are using it. It did on my dinc. it actually discharges while you use it and it is plugged into the supplied charger.
This is not a good thing. I am wondering if anyone else is having a similar experience.
One interesting side note.
I installed rezrom recently, and after the initial install i didn't experience this problem and got a 24 hour charge out of the battery. Now on my second charge only lasted 7 hours, and i get that drain while plugged in again.
Are you using the stock charger or a different one? You might not be charging at 1amp.

That's really crappy and definitely an issue they need to address. My Rezound sucks on the battery like a wine-o on a Friday night, but it's never gotten to the point of blacking out.
I am just interested to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue of it being plugged in and not charging when u surf the net, but actually discharges.
The whole issue of it not powering up for 15 minutes after it dies is a bunch of crap too. my dinc does not do this, and god forbid that my phone dies in an emergency situation and i need to get a hold of someone fast!
oh i forgot to add that i called VZW and complained about this, and they going to send a new battery. Something tells me this won't resolve this issue though
I have the official HTC 2750 battery and Its been good except 2 mornings I woke up to an unresponsive phone with no charge notification after plugging it in.. Pulling the battery and reinstalling let me start the phone up. I have had this phone/battery combo for 2 weeks.. should I try to get a replacement battery or is this normal. There have been two different answers here and I want to do the right thing here...

Yes, exactly. Not sure if it was entirely discharged. I'll leave it off the charger tonight and see if it does it again by morning. I'll let you know battery % once I get it booted.

From the beginning, phone was on charger, charging then came back later (phone still on charger) no led, nothing, phone wouldnt turn on.
I put my phone on the charger last night just like every other night, and awoke this morning to the screen frozen, displaying the time of 12:35am. No buttons were responding, so I pulled the battery and put it back in. It won't boot up, no lights, no nothing. Tried my spare batteries, still nothing. Tried all my chargers and nothing happens when plugged in. Dead.
Rooted, with UnNamed rom, but haven't flashed anything in months.
Is this thing dead, or can it be brought back with a jig?
EDIT: Thanks for the troubleshooting tips, but this baby is dead.dead...now I have to return it and hope that warranty stays intact...

No it was docked in the Samsung charging stand...
Pull your battery and leave it out for at least 10 minutes... go for 30. Then put your battery back in and try it. The purpose is to completely deplete all of your electronic resistors and capacitors of any power.

Reason I asked is it can make the phone overheat, it happened to me and many others on here.
I woke up to the same situation as you did and had to pull the battery and wait a bit then charge it back cause it was dead.
Ok battery out for 30+ minutes, and popped it back in - still nothing, dead as a doornail...
Should I try a jig before taking it to warranty, just to make sure that they aren't going to be able to boot it and see I rooted?
If there's anything I can do to avoid having to go buy a phone at full price to get me through the weekend, that would be awesome...going out of town in the morning and can't be without a phone...
I had that happen to a Captivate. Go to an AT&T warranty place and they can swap it.

I had this happen a few months ago. I think it has to do with how it deals with a completely dead battery. The symptom is that the phone is either completely unresponsive or will show the battery logo with a circle and then quickly power off. This is how I got around it:
-First pull out the battery, and leave the back cover open.
-Get a microUSB cable plugged into your PC at the ready, but not plugged into the phone yet. This will not work with the wall charger.
-Hold down vol down, vol up, and power, and then plug in the USB cable. In a few seconds you'll see the download mode "Custom OS" dialog with a yellow triangle.
-Do not press any buttons after this point.
-Plug in the battery, and let it sit for 10-30 minutes.
-After the battery's had enough time to get a base charge, hold the power button until the screen turns black.
-If the battery has enough charge to begin charging, you should see the full-screen battery logo with a "progress wheel" circle in the middle change to the battery with the five dots below. This means the charger is now active.
-You can now let it charge off of USB, or move it to the wall charger for a faster charge.
Again, this is what's worked for me. Post here if you are having any luck with this method.
I have a Captivate that died on me in the exact same fashion two days ago. I'm deciding whether to wait a few months for new releases or just getting a SGSII. ATT is offering it for $10 with a contract renewal.
Since my phone is out of warranty, is there any other way to get it replaced?

Surprisingly I had the same EXACT situation occur as the OP. I set my phone down charged via USB last night and next morning I woke up to an extrememly luke warm phone with nothing turning on, it was a blank screen and I for sure thought the battery was dead...
Ended up at Radioshack in search for a spare battery to use, but the employee's were assholes and wouldn't let me borrow one from out of their SGS2 displays, so I decided at this point to just find a battery online and be phone-less for a few days.
Thanks to pokey for this little gameplan he had written out, , it appears there still is life in my lil' R2D2... at least it appears to be.
Edit: Yep it worked, just have to wait for it to charge now--those who have this problem follow pokey's steps and this should direct you on the right path. Good luck!!

Unfortunately this didn't work for me, thanks though, had high hopes and tried it several times. I picked up a jig and no life with that either. Dead.
Oh well...warranty phone is supposed to arrive today, can't wait to take back this WP7 abomination (had to try it).
So since this phone is verified as dead now, is there anything to worry about in sending it back through warranty since I'm unable to wipe/unroot it?
This scares the crap out of me since I just got my phone. Good tips to try if it does happen.
Can it be concluded that it has something to do with leaving the charger on it after it is fully charged? Maybe something with the voltage regulator(?) that tells the charger to stop charging when the battery is full.
I have dewalt drills that I swear lose life if you leave them on the charger for long periods of time consistently (even though they are to stop charging when the battery is full). Whats weird about these problems is that it killed the phone too, not just the battery.

Yes you should worry, at&t might not be able to get it up and running but Samsung will, and when they get the device up and running they will see the root & rom so expect a very large phone bill in 1-2 months.

Well that's just friggin' great
My sgsii died on me while rooted and I swapped it out for warranty and did not incure a bill from AT&T or Samsung. It's been about 6 months now so I'm pretty sure they just used it for spare parts.
The funny part of the story is my current sgsii died the other day won't turn on at all. Got my jig today and that doesn't work either. I will try pokeys method and hopefully it works for me.

While you could be correct, I don't see Samsung sinking the labor time into looking that closely. I'm guessing they just hook it up to something that'll push the firmware, test functionality, and send it out as a refurb.
I could very well be wrong, but when you get hundreds/thousands of dead devices like they do, its more cost effective to just keep it simple and move onto the next.
I've never returned a device, stock or customized, so this is just my guess based on experience working with a large corporation.

At first I wondered about this being a smaller battery if it would run down fast. It doesn't !!! Works very well !!!

That could be a bad/shorted battery. Mine is still going strong! I would try and reverse everything and start over. When I did mine my vol controls didn't work. Didn't have the connector snapped down good enough

I am still trying to see if there is a setting that somehow caused my NT to freak out when the battery reaches 23%
But I have this bad feeling I will need to purchase a new battery. By the way, if the nook just shuts off watch the screen closely it usually says "battery too low" for a second before switching off. And if that is the case after plugging it in, you likely have a bad one and I would call the company to get a replacement.
I have been looking around and the only new replacement batteries I find are the two mentioned and both are 3200mh rather than 4000 of the original. How is your battery life since you changed it? Seems like it should be 1/4th what we had when new (or close to it). Or don't you really notice at this point? I have thought about ebay but then they are used batteries and you have no idea how many cycles are left, and likely hold 1/4th less anyway due to their age. *shurgs* not sure which way to go. As of now I am still having a "freak out" situation at about 23% (roughly). If it doesn't get any worse I can live with that, but from what I have read it will only get worse. :/
Anyone know of a battery app I could use to "adjust" the shut down threashold? I have one that will alert me to whatever I set so if I am not watching it will warn me so that will work if I don't have one that will actually shut it down. I know the "calibrating" apps don't do anything except delete the one file that is only usage stats from the last time it was plugged in, so I don't think there is a real way to calibrate it.

And on another note with the "spare parts" app the 'battery history' option errors with "the application spare parts ) process.com.andriod.spare_parts_ has topped unexpectedly, please try again." Is this normal? It is version 2.3.7. NT Hidden Settings app application settings/battery use works fine and shows the amount of everything that has used the battery since it was last plugged in/charged. Could this error be a sign of the problem with the phantom touches and inaccurate battery display? And if it is a sign of something broken, what and how do I fix it?
I received a replacement battery and it is doing the same thing, so somehow during the battery switch something got wonkey with my nook. It charges OK just powers off to do it. Since it's used by my kids now it's not essential to be on while charging, but I'd still like to figure this out.

Which battery did you get? And very strange it shuts off when you plug it in. Never seen or heard of that before. It should boot up if off. Or do you mean the screen goes off/goes to sleep but not full shut down when you plug it in? If it is going to sleep, that is likely a app or setting that is doing it. Not sure which but you might want to check any battery apps you have or your settings. It would also depend on which ROM you are running, stock (which I am running) or something else.
Both batteries were the one mentioned in the original post. It doesn't go to sleep when I plug it in, it completely shuts off like no power at all. It will not boot up until I unplug the USB from a power source, although it will fully charge while it is plugged in. I've never seen anything like this and I've been messing with android since my original moto droid 1.

Very strange indeed. The only thing I would say to do is turn the USB debugging on and off a few times, to see if that makes a difference. It shouldn't but if you tried two different brands of battery, sounds like it is the hardware on the nook. But that is one really weird bug.
Something interesting I discovered. While I did get a new battery, I decided to do some experimenting. Researching this issue a lot of people said you need to delete the "battery file". There even use to be a option in CWM to remove this file. The thing is the file is deleted every time you plug in the device. So that is not going to help.
Further digging found that some devices you need to plug them in and let them charge. Or run them down for say 20-30 minutes without sleeping then plug in and let it charge fully. For some devices this "resets" the battery management system.
What I found in my tests is the battery gets harder to charge with age. While the little n light might show green, it is likely only 80% charge sometimes 90%. And it takes awhile for it to really get to 100%. What I did was let it charge up to that full 100% which may take hours. I got a nice battery app that alerts me when it gets below 25% after that things can get crazy with phantom touches. I also have it set to give a audio alert when it reaches 100%, this way I know when it is fully charged.
I know the charge it fully (when it actually says 100% and I get a audio alert when this happens) before 50% or so has helped a lot. At one point the phantom touches started to happen at higher than 25% reaching almost 35%, last time I did a test to see when phantom touches started was 17% so it is much better. Not to the level when I bought the device, but still very useable.
I will put in the new battery sometime I am sure as it is taking longer and longer to reach the full 100% (but that is normal for lithium ion batteries.) it is certainly useable in this state and the phantom touch issue is not getting worse. I think the biggest issue was charging it until the n light went green and as the battery ages, the battery manger gets thrown off for some reason and charging to the true 100% helps recalibrate it.
Therefore I would run it for 20 minutes without letting it go to sleep, then charge until it is really full (usually leave it plugged in overnight and that should do it). Do this a few times and see if the battery is better.
Oh another thing I did. Power it off fully (hold down power button then tap shutoff) then plug it in to charge. Let the charger wake, reboot, and charge the device. This I also think helps recalibrate the system. Although I never did it when I ran it for 20 minutes then charged to full. But I am sure powering off then plugging in to charge at times made a difference as well.
I've just bought one of these batteries, hoping it'll be better than my old one.
It should be. It won't be quite as it was when it was new, as these new batteries don't have the capacity compared to the originals that B&N installed (perhaps a hour or two less runtime compared to the originals). But it will be better than a well used Nook Tablet battery that is fading fast.
I don't know if I need a new battery just yet, but I am experiencing the issue of the power being killed when plugging the Nook into the wall or USB (which means transfers over an SD card, which is a pain). I only spent $5 to get it and I can see why someone might have thought it was broken, since they probably plugged it in to charge it but it wouldn't turn on while plugged in. It does charge while off, however.
What I've noticed in my experience is that if I turn it on, I can plug it in while the Nook is on the N screen, and then it'll go to the Cynoboot screen still plugged in, but the second it goes to boot the OS it turns off.
Anyone have any ideas on why it would allow itself to be on until it tries to boot to the OS?
My phone is having issues charging even with three different cables. If I plug the phone in while it is off, it turns on and says it's charging. But it doesn't receive a charge. If the phone is on and I plug it in, it says it's charging on the lock screen, but the icon doesn't change to the charging symbol and it doesn't receive a charge. I have tried wiggle the cable a bit while it's plugged in, but that doesn't help. It doesn't seem like others are having this same issue either. Am I screwed? I also unlocked my phone. Does that mean I am double screw and Huawei won't help me?

Hey all, here is a quick update. I spoke with a gentle from Huawei and was suppose to get a replacement sent out. However, I believe I was under volt charging the device and that's why I got those strange issues. It recharges every time from my car and my computer, but not from my wall. Kimtyson, Huawei said the exact same thing as you. Good call!
With the phone running, go to Phone Manager and then go to Power Saving and then Consumption Level. Is Cell Standby draining your battery? It is on mine.

For me, it's only 2.94%. I have to say though, going from 4.3 to 5.1 was a huge difference in life battery. For the worse. I went from one charge every 3 to 4 days to once a day.
However, I believe the USB port might be broken. I don't know why though. I haven't been rough it or charged it at a angle that would put extra pressure on it.
It might be worth doing a factory reset and\or reinstalling. Could be a bad flash or something. Also, try returning to JB. Just make a TWRP backup or something so you can get back to where you are now. See if everything is working back in JB. If so, it's not the USB port.
