i tried to use the RSD lite, but it cant connect to my phone. even when i try to fastboot the file, it says device not found.
You're going to have to use Fastboot since you've wiped /system, you're supposed to do that from CWM then immediately install the custom ROM. Else you don't have a system to boot into. If your computer won't detect your phone, try using another one. Borrow a friend's. Reinstall drivers. Reinstall the SDK.

nvm guys, got it to go to fastboot. was panicking and pressing the wrong things at the wrong time :S
My friend had accidently bricked his sgs2-G but we managed to fix it.
We've installed stock ICS + root via odin but he's unable to flash an other rom.
Either the the phone stucks in the boot screen or it gets into a bootloop.
Even if we do every singel point in the installation instruction...
We already tried about 6 roms and they all don't want to work. What now???

You must flash a Stock with Odin using the LPH of Android 4.0.3. Know how to do this?
I don't know how but he solved the problem. Somehow he found a working rom.
Anyway we tried everything data/factory reset etc.. And he had a stock ICS. By the way I don't know how but he managed to brick so bad that the phone only booted in the emergency mode :silly:
At least he's unbricked it and now he's using the cMIUI 2.8.10 rom
Hi im relatively new at rooting and am currently experiencing issues with a bricked device.
i have two htc one s devices
my personal one is running cm10 ville with clockwork touch recovery and is working perfectly
however the second one i was using the same exact files.
this one is bricked
its in a constant bootloop.
i can get back to my recovery just fine and get to the fastboot in the phone fine
i cleared my cache
wiped my data and wiped the dalvik cache all perfectly fine when i try to flash the cm10 official rom back on it cannot mount the sd card
i would try to install a different recovery and try again maybe using viper one s
but i cannot get the phone to power on
it doesnt showup on the computer when it is plugged in while in fastboot
when i try the cmd fastboot flash recovery it says waiting for device
any advice. this is not my own phone so i need it repaired pretty quickly.
any helpful information would be much appreciated.
Have you tried to full charge the battery first?? Also try to download the stock Rom and kernel (if you changed the kernel) and try to flash them. Use a standard CWM!

Hello and sorry to post this problem here as i have the tmobile note but i used the att i717 rooting method from rootgalaxynote.com ofcourse did not use an att based rom but a tmobile one( cm10.1 rc2) . The problem is after clearing everything i then proceed to install the new rom using cwm and it says "install aborted" error section 7 ive tried it a few times cleared everything again and still nothing. Dont know if i need to update cwm and if so how vers.5.0.5 or something like that or is it the build which is the lates update by tmo uvlma1 and the instructions were from may of 2012. Please help i have gone back to stock for now as i did backup first. Ps i have installed titanium backup pro and and superuser and have even frozen some of the bloatware from tmo so im guessing i am rooted. Please help as the tmo threads are dead and no help from no one!! Thanks a bunch guys
Just update your recovery dude.
Twrp is superior to cwm imo anyway.
This has been discussed many times. Since you are coming from T-Mobile forum here is a link which was recently discussed. Staus 7 means you need to upgrade your recovery.

You did not check the link and you ignored the other users recommendation.
Recovery from rom manager will not work. Twrp recovery is good for our devicw. Flash twrp and you will be ok. Follow the instruction from link provided

so i download the twrp file and flash through odin? the problem is my phone doesnt stay on. it just boot loops to the samsung logo. sorry for misunderstanding not to go through rom manager. thanks so much osterizerblender for helping me with links just need to know how to do this procedure.
Your phone will stay in download mode to flash a recovery.
Once flashed boot into that every and flash a Rom within.
Put your phone to download mode. Make sure you have drivers installed. Open odin(i used v1.85). Put the twrp recovery tar file in to pda slot. Conect your phone to your computer in download mode. Once odin finds your device then press start.

I just did the RSD format and i worked. make sure you follow the steps on getting into the fastboot recovery menu and it should say "ready" until you can force flash via RSD and appropriate rom file.

Please brother, can you post your process step-by-step and I will try your way, I have all the files needed but it just won't work. It is visible in Fastboot cause it shows the device's serial number, but in RSD Lite it says N/A under the device description. Also, fastboot says my CID is 5, don't know is it related to this issue. Flashing from stock recovery comes up with "signature verification failed", whatever I tried: ICS, JB, ICS backup, update...
Also, Fastboot menu says (first line) flash failure. This is my first Motorola phone and I really don't know what to do anymore, I'm pretty desperate. Is it possible that no one can help in this case? As for the HTC HD2 with Android ported, I shared my knowledge and experience which helped many users fix their issues. As for the Razr, I've been reading for days and nights since it was bricked and couldn't find the solution yet.
