Looking for a mentor for my Senior Project - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, the title pretty much explains it all, but I really need a mentor for my senior project.
If there are any experienced devs, please click this link and read for more information
Sorry for making the thread somewhere else and referring you to it, but I'd rather have one unified thread so I can keep everything in one spot. thank you!

IM a student like you, goodluck with your project.
Unfortunately I think it's gonna be hard for you because if you don't show people money they don't help you.
Source: Personal experience.

Since this isn't a development question it's more suited to the General forum.

For ALL NewBIES here in ATOM FORUM!!!PLEASE READ

Welcome to all Newbies,
We are all happy that this community is getting bigger. It means that there are many atom users now who enjoy this forum and also need some technical help.
I would like to remind everyone specially the NEWBIES:
PLEASE learn to READ AND SEARCH!
The first IMPORTANT THING in every forum (not only here) is to know HOW TO READ specially the rules and guidelines.
Every technical problems that you experience doesn't mean that you need to create immediately a thread for that. There is a thread for everything that is existing already. Its very hard to everyone to again and again answer the same issues. PLEASE TRY TO SEARCH and READ EVERY THREAD that you think related to the issues you have. Wikipage is also another great help for you. Just click here the link above this page (XDA-wiki). Hope this will be clear to everyone. Don't worry about your technical problem, for sure we have a possible solution for that. You just need to be patience and learn to read and search.
Thanks and Regards to all.

I find nothing to read 'HERE' (not much or very little) I mean in this thread. I came in twice, to see if i miss out anything, but it was really a dissapointment here. Maybe try posting more pointer??Where, What to READ??Do more recommedation and give more patient.
It is very very true, that one MUST and should read and read before asking. In other word, do your own searching and do your own homework. But one should be happy for be able to lend out their helping hand. Only then will we be able to make a better world.
Just my 2 cent ( don't be angry.... -- smile -- )
its better to read the wiki here first

hi
All a request Pls ask all questions in the
gene questions and answers thread which is a sticky.
I will not inform any one in the future if i see a thread opened and if it does not have the relevance to be a new thread ill just close it thats it.
Some one has taken the pains to open a thread and i think all questions should be asked in that thread only.
Remember it also becomes a repository of question and answers for other to use when they need any answer they can search their and get their answer OK
A request to all ur helpful guys help them only if the question is asked in the Q& A thread

hi
thanks buddy but then i need helpful guys like u to help in answering questions only if it is ask in the Q & A thread so all ur nice helpful guys kindly do it
thanks
@haree
nice initiative bud, but i think the only reason people seem to open thread to ask solutions for problems, big and small, is that although the q & a thread does do its work, its sometimes easy to get lost in threads that big...
i've been lucky enough to be helped by the senior members here so i ain't cribbing too much but this site is like a labyrinth for noobs...
take Da_g's thread for wm dev for example...it has a wealth of info, bug fixes and solutions...but its a pain to go through 1650 pages of posts...
and the search fails at such attempts too...
what i'm trying to suggest is to not only try and get all the q & a's in one thread but also have an index in its first few posts so people can jump straight to their concerned problem if someone has encountered it before and has been fixed...
something like what's been done here->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669414
it'll make things easier for noobs, won't make 'em have to wait for someone to answer their questions and keep the forum clean...
just a thought...
anyways keep up the good work!!
peace!!

Keep Chef Central clean - Guidelines

Hello developers and aspiring developers!
Seeing Chef Central is a pretty good resource for beginners and current developers to exchange info, it would be nice to have it a bit more organized.
I propose the following:
Tags
As you've probably seen around more places on XDA, TAGS are used to show us what the thread is about. Some threads here are already tagged, and it's that what we'd like to see.
Think about TAGS along the line of: [TUT], [Guide], [PORT], [Kernel], [Tool], [Kitchen], etc. Also, the [Q] tag should ALWAYS be used when a question is posted that couldn't be solved after taking the following steps...
Posting in threads instead of creating new ones
If you have a question about anything found in Chef Central, ask them in their respective threads. Don't open a new one just because no one answered your question in one day. Ask again, if you have to, in the same thread. Or, try the next best thing...
Searching
You should know that most of the stuff on XDA is searchable, even through Google's searchengine. I even recommend doing a search BEFORE asking a question. And if we keep this forum organized, searching would be pretty easy, now won't it? Speaking of organized...
Cleaning up
Obviously, this is something a moderator should do. In this particular case, we have several moderators that can do this: Some Recognized Developers are able to moderate this forum. To see who is able to do so, look at the bottom right of the Chef Central main forum.
Reporting also works wonders here; maintenance work is something we mods do too. Report a thread that needs to be cleaned/closed/stickied/etc. Make it a bit easier for us.
Device specific threads
All device specific questions should be posted in their respective forums. If there isn't any, post in general Android development.
So, with this, I want to start a "spring cleaning" if you will. Development is key here on XDA developers, and the place where most development is happening, it's a mess... Oh, the irony.
Oh and please, if you have any ideas or comments regarding this post, do not refrain from posting them here.
Let's start cleaning, shall we?
good post
I really hope this is a great source of info for me. So far everything that I've needed has been found here. So keep up the great work.
Thanks for this post. Totally agree and would like to add few things. We all want easy and quick access to the information and quick answers. But, before you ask, please think about what EXACTLY you want to ask, is your question make sense , or just like - "my ROM is not working, can you help" and then wait and see long long long thread of messages where people trying to understand - what ROM, how it failed, which device, what environment, symptoms of failure... etc.. Do not make a mess , keep this "home of knowledge" tidy.
Looks like OP forgot to mention that posting "Thanks" instead of just hitting thanks button is also a source of unnecessary clutter

Coad base
This is one of the sets of more consistent coding standards I've seen. It 'clear that it is written by someone with a deep knowledge and passion for the great design of the system to improve its ability and maintainability of its code base efforts everyday.
Great.. Glad to have it. Thanks again for the share
Best Guidelines regarding CC cleaner, apart form this can i have any another cleaner for my Andorid Phone, that should be trust able as CC cleaner and good to use.

We need to wake up. Let's make xda better.

So, guys. We need to wake up. We need to stop asking for estimated time of arrive. We need to respect all the developers. Please read every posts before you posting. Please search before posting. We've lost many awesome developers. It's all because of you you guys keep asking for ETA and never search before posting question. When developers feel tired, then he just decide to leave XDA. XDA is a big family. Only respect between each other can help to maintain the peace. Every developers & members deserved to be respected.
Regarding the CM9 thread, guys. Stop asking about the ETA and 'IS CAMERA WORKING?'! We could lost the only unofficial CM9 development for Galaxy Ace because of that.
Regarding the AOKP thread, guys. Be nice to the developer. Although they made some mistakes. But we have to respect them too. They're human being, not GOD. They working on AOKP based on the CM9. The only AOKP development for Ace currently.
Furthermore, I want to apology to moderators and every members for my behavior. I know I made a mistake. I shouldn't post all those things. Once again, a truly apology to every members and moderators. Sorry.
Some of us made some threads like these last time .
Did they listen to us ? No . The noobishness got worse .
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
Excellent post sir. Your posts re moderator were very nasty and to be honest I'm a little surprised that he's allowed you to stay on xda. Your apology does however appear to be genuine and heart-felt. Regarding the noobs it's important that we guide, advise and assist them, not shout, swear and otherwise abuse what will, eventually, be the devs of the future. I trust that senior members will take the lead in this and stop moaning about noobs xda is not meant to be a closed shop and all new members should be made welcome.

The thing is that this is a DEVELOPER forum . I've seen such a thread where the noobs were trying to fight back discrimination , but were bashed down by the senior mods again .

That, leaves me to think what I'm doing here...
We're all here to learn and share experiences from one another . Not to ask and whine about ETAs

As EmoBoiix3 said, this has been done. Imo people should stop trying to be a revolutionist and just do their part instead of telling others what to do. The only people who will take this to their hearts are those who have a bit decency, and those people are most likely not the "noobs" aka spammers. This kind of stuff are soon to be classified as spam.
It's not that hard to differentiate between genuine noobs (count the posts) and the habitual spammers. Report the spammers to moderator - I'm sure most would agree that so far he has been very fair and quite pro-active in handing out warnings by PM, giving general warnings on thread and being very willing to engage with members. It's his ot their job to police the site and ours to help keep it as clean as possible without totally stiflling comment and input. Also there is one section for Devs this section is everybody's.
Developers have no purpose without anyone to use their Mods and Roms etc.
great post, even great idea, but lets face it, noobs are gonna ignore this

Get it straight it is not the NOOBS who are the problem. It's the attitude of the rest of us towards them. We should show equal understanding and respect to Devs and Noobs alike !!!
Sometimes they do get pretty annoying lol

Of course people are lazy. Three or more of the problems surrounding this thread have been posted about several times I note. Maybe the "search this thread" button needs more prominence and easier to use. Maybe repeat questioners should always be directed to search button? It's our xda can't we work to improve it rather than despairing?

Yep. I made a lot for Samsung Star (not android phone) without any code on my hand 2 years ago. I developed for LG OP, HTC on tiad and did a few things for galaxy 5. As it was in other forums my posts for some of you make me a noob right?
That's why I disagree on calling someone noob just because of the number of posts... And also treating noobs in a bad way because they make the same mistake all of us have made: not searching.
We should just provide a kind answer and invite them to use the searchbar instead of kicking them out.

A message from the Tablet Moderation Team - PLEASE READ

Hello!
A warm welcome to both new and existing members to these Forums. These look to be exciting products, and I am really hoping to see a great community spring up here. As we like to do with a new forum, we like to introduce ourselves. The moderating team assigned to this forum include:
Team Leader/Senior Moderator @Moscow Desire
Forum Moderators @LenAsh, @cybojenix, @Divine_Madcat
I would like to take a moment to reiterate the overall guidelines of the forum, in the hope of preventing issues down the line...
1. Posting in the Development Forum. Creating new threads in the Dev Forum is restricted to development work; this may include Kernels, Root tools, ROMS, and other device developments. If you have a question about a ROM or the device, please post in the Q&A forum, so that the question may be answered correctly.
2. Arguments and Flaming. This really speaks for itself, but bears saying again. Be respectful, and be a community; work together and make this a place that is welcoming to everyone, new and old. If an argument starts, DO NOT participate in it. You have a "Report Post" button. Use it. Let the Mod's take care of it. You are not moderators, so please don't act like it. You don't make anything better by participating, and you may find yourself in trouble as well.
3. Please take a moment to search before posting; forums for popular devices can get hectic, and it is only made worse by having 5 different threads on the same topic. While mistakes happen, we need everyone's help to make sure that the boards are readable and usable for everyone. Odds are, if you have a problem, you are not the first person to have had the issue; you may very well find the solution already discussed. If a thread covering your topic is already there, please keep the discussion in that thread.
4. We are all here to help the users, and to mainly help continue the development of the devices. This is a Development site, not Facebook or other social networking sites. While some off topic banter is to be expected, please keep off topic conversations in the appropriate area; this is especially true for development threads. Too much OT makes threads hard to use for people with real issues/suggestions/questions
