Sim Unlocked - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I unlocked my bootloader through the pudding method. I then flashed CM7 onto my phone. Do I still have to unlock my sim to be carrier free?

This will not work as it is the official way to unlock the bootloader.
Currently the only way seems only via paid method because fastboot is not enabled.

That is because you had Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes.

You need to do it via specific paid method, because you also need to get fastboot enabled. Just getting unlock code from network operator will not help, as it doesn't enable the fastboot and Bootloader Unlock Allowed stays No.
