Verizon is sending me a replacement RAZR with gingerbread to assist with my distaste with the ICS update.
Is there any way i can ensure this update and future updates are blocked from downloading/installation?
Rooting is an option and isn't a problem... just looking for a suggestion after rooting.
Thanks!

Yes, there's.
Go to the link inside the default.xml file in the attached pic and mess a lil the server link.
Make a backup prior braking it.
Cheers

I wonder if this would help the "no sleeping" issue I have, or if I just have a setting wrong somewhere.

A couple people have reported that their no-sleep issues have vanished with the new EC10 kernel

You have it already.
with your samsung account you can make a backup of your contacts, preferences, etc, in the cloud.
Don't expect a cloud "dropbox-ish", taking into account the agreement between both companies for this device.
BR!
I don't see the ooption to backup. Mind guiding me?

I have the following image attached. Running ICS Objection ROM for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717. There is one little problem. CAN'T remove stupid Settings option from notifications as you can see from a screen shot.
Can someone please help me figure out where and how to remove it.

Don't think it's possible to change that without modifying the framework...

XDA is no longer worth my time.
I originally had trouble updating to 532 through the handset so had to update through the PC companion. After the update was complete & the phone restarted I still had the notification for the update (that still fails) & won't shove off.
Anybody know of a way to get rid of it?
This is what I mean BTW:

I had the same problem last night. Reboot then click refresh or recheck for update in the software section. It will go away.

I'd already tried that & it had no effect for me
my s5 would take forever to download pictures when my 4g lte is on.
any ideas?
Big picture?
J/k, check and see which modem/baseband is installed on your phone.
#1. Goto "Settings"
#2. Click "About Device"

#3. Baseband version should end with "ANE6"
If it reads otherwise, then you need to install the latest modem/firmware, found here sammobile.com , or by looking in the android development section of these forums.
Let me know what your device says to better diagnose the issue.
