Brick after downgrade - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
My phone was bricked after cm7.2 flashing. (yep i'm retard) I format system/data/cache, after that I do factory reset and flash cm7.2 zip in Siyah and flash gapps after that. Now I got bootloop, recovery doesn't load. Only download mode. What can I do to revive my phone? I don't have a computer now. Only ODIN? If yes, how to flash firmware through ODIN without troubles? Thanks for your advice! With best regards. I was on CM9 + Siyah 4.1b6. What I did wrong?

If you can access only download mode then only Odin.

Ok, I download XWLPD 4.0.3, extract, check PDA, PHONE, CSC. PIT and Bootloader - empty. Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked, other - not checked. Re-partition not ticked. Flash. Right? If yes, and my phone not boot, what after? PIT?

Yes, flash and we'll see. If you get boot loop then also wipe all and factory reset.

If I flash 3-file XWLPD, my data on internal SD will delete? If yes, can I restore my data after flashing?
If I flash CM9 Ressurection Edition 1-file in ODIN, in theory, I can enter in CWM, wipe data/factory reset and my phone will boot? But in practice?
I don't have a PC now sorry for noobish questions. With best regards. Thank you.

If you flash a firmware via odin using the CSC section as well the others it will wipe your device. If you flash CM9 resurrection using PDA you will not loose data. I don't think you can recover lost data, perhaps other members can confirm this. Whilst in download mode can you browse your root directory and back up to PC?

Find 1-file version of any stock ICS ROM and it will be fine although without a PC you can't do much now.

Then I will flash CM9 Ressurection, but will my phone boot in recovery? I got bootloop now and I can enter only in download mode.

Unless you try it we don't know mate. In theory yes, so get PC and proceed.

[Q] can't flash stock roms with odin i9100 [Resolved]

I'm currently unable to flash firmwares; whenever I try with ODIN it fails (does not progress) at boot.bin.
I'm on VillianROM 3 and I want to move to XXKI4.
I have tried using a series of separate files for XWKDF and the single .tar.md5 files. I've also tried using different USB ports, cables and wiping all data before flashing.
I have never selected .pit or repartition during a flash
I have killed all of the KIES processes using task manager.
I have access to download and CM recovery (restoring old backups does work but I still can't flash on top of them)
Any suggestions?

Go into recovery mode, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache , wipe dalvik cache, go to mount and storage and format system, cache and data. Go over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928 , find your country`s rom. Put the phone in downloadmode and flash it with odin. Be sure you have usb debugging enabled. After reboot go to settings, privacy and reset factory settings, reboot and you`re done

What version of Odin are you using? I use V1.85 and everything works fine for me on Window 7 Pro...
I'm also using win 7 with odin 1.85. It's weird, I was previously able to use odin to flash stock roms but now it has stopped working (I've tried redownloading odin to make sure the files are okay but same result)

Use another computer
Is the phone in download mode?
I've put the phone I'm to download mode using vol down + home + power and from the cwm app. The result is the same: fails at boot.bin
I'll see if I can try from another computer this evening

Ok the suggestion to use a different computer has worked.
I've now also managed to re-root from the win 7 machine by setting up a new user account and running odin from there. I'll update the thread title to resolved

[Q] Can´t format ACE using ODIN

Hi everyone,
I am trying to restore my wife´s ACE back to factory using ODIN... a clean copy with her carriers latest ROM...
I have flashed it in ODIN but it still has all her content... and everytime I try to unlock the phone I am getting major FC´s that don´t allow me to do anything!
How the hell do I flash a ROM in ODIN when it is ONE PACKAGE... I have followed all the steps and it passes perfectly but I am still presented with my wife´s wall paper and FC´s... Help!
Do a factory reset in recovery then reflash it

Download stock rom.

One package is not a problem...
Spoiler
sape soh tekan?
When the flashing finishes do you reboot to recovery and do Wipe Data/Factory Reset?
ODIN is not for factory reset, is for flashing roms.
Fixed
I couldn´t reset cos I forgot how to enter recovery using the butons. I have now found out how to do that so all is sorted.
try another usb port

[Q] Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 wont boot up after flashing new ROM

Hi guys need help if posible, i was flashing new rom Litening_Rom_v2.8 but now nothing works and phone wont boot up im am still able to go into download mode but when i flash diferent version of rom i still get the same problem can anyone help please
Try a different rom, see if it boots up....then wipe everything n try flashing again
Flash stock rom using Odin.
Wait 3 4 minutes, takes time to first boot.
Still bootloops, remove sdcard.
flash any cfroot and right after go into cwm.
Format data, system, cache, sdcard.
Now flash stock gb using Odin.

[Q] Re-flashing stock firmware

Hi all,
So I was trying to re-flash a friend's S3 stock firmware I9300XXBLFB via odin and 1 file ROM, everything went fine but when the device rebooted it wasn't back to factory, in fact all the data was still there as if nothing happened. So I shut down the phone, rebooted into recovery and did a wipe/cache and wipe/data factory reset, rebooted, this is when it got back to factory condition. My question is why didn't it work the first time after I flashed with Odin? Is it because I didn't tick on re-partition and had no PIT file???
That's how it should work to ensure upgrading/updating newer firmware doesn't wipe phone data. Otherwise, we will be very headache
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
So ur saying that it's normal that nothing changes after flashing via odin??? Why not just skip this step then and just do a wipe cache and wipe data from recovery???
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Flashing using odin is to change phone firmware /rooting or any mods that are flashable via odin. Is not meant to wipe phone.

Ok, So let's say I messed up my phone and the software get stuck a lot and I wanna get it back as new, do I just do a wipe data/factory reset and wipe/cache partition from recovery??

hi!
to get that brand new feeling, you have to flash a stock firmware first and just basically reset to factory settings no need to wipe caches because that is already taken care of when you do a factory reset
i hope this helps!

but the above poster Arsaw said there's no need to flash via odin to do a wipe...
Yes. First step to fix bugs is to factory reset which will wipe everything and start from scratch.

Quick question, why does Odin show the ID:COM field in Cyan and not yellow? Is it like this in the new versions? Also will Odin do the flashing process even if USB Debugging is enabled??
Yes, newer odin should show cyan colour.
Normally is it suggested to enable the debugging when flashing with odin. Why you think it will fail?

Nvm, I was just wondering
Thanks a lot for the help, appreciate it

Stuck on samsung bootscreen

Hi, i followed this tutorial to root, and wanted to flash this rom.. So i wiped data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format /system.. and now when i reboot, i'm stuck on the samsung galaxy tab 10.1 boot.. did i bricked my device? I want to flash the rom but i cant get my pc to recognize my device as i have not get past the boot screen :crying: so i cant put the rom in the device and flash the rom from clockwork recovery..... :crying:
Of course its stuck. You wiped everything but did not flash the ROM. *facepalm* Either find a way to sideload the ROM to your tab through adb or reflash to stock using Odin.
