After updating my 9100G with I9100GXXLPY 4.0.4 official I have been unable to connect Kies with the phone. It is not that I miss it so much, but I'd like to get some stuff back from the backups.
The error message returned by Kies is always the same:
Cannot start service on the device. Please disconnect then reconnect the device.
I upgraded through Odin, wiped cache, data, etc and do not have an sd card in place (I saw some reports of Kies going crazy sometimes with sd cards). I understand Kies might have problems with some non-official roms so this is puzzling to me.
Anyone had this problem? any ideas?
Thank you.

Hi Everyone,
I have the Motorola Razr XT910 with Android version 2.3.6 (the latest update). I had issues with the signal since last update mid February. So after so many trials to solve the issue, I decided to do a factory resetting yesterday. What happened is the signal became better, but I receive a continuous message whenever I connect to the internet. The message says "Sorry! The process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedly, please try again." So I have to force close. I tried to search for a solution in the net but no help.
Kindly help me

If you're rooted I would boot into recovery and wipe cache/system etc.
If you're not and don't plan to, then the only thing I think you would be able to do and hope it works would be to format internal storage and remove your SD card, do another factory restore and see if that clears it up.
Otherwise you're probably going to need to root so you have more control over the internal data to wipe and start fresh.
That process that is crashing is a core piece of the operating system. Something got borked along the way for some reason. Don't fret someone here much smarter than myself will be able to help you, just not at 11:30pm at night

Hello guys
I was running Android ICS 4.0.4 on my Galaxy S III international version (GT-I9300) with BB version of I9300XXLFB (KSA). I recently downloaded the official Samsung firmware of Jelly Bean 4.1.1 with BB of I9300XXDLJ1 (UAE), which is a different country (UAE vs KSA) provided by SamMobile.com, which supports Kies as well. I have no root, my device status is "Normal", flash counter is "0" and every thing else is fine.
After flashing the ROM, it looked amazing and there is really performance improvement noted.
But the device kept restarting, and when I connect it to Kies, it show that "Access to C:\ProgramData\Samsung\DeviceProfile\Cache\GT-I9300\version.dat denied", and Kies shows a message implying that "Software upgrade is not suppored by Kies 2.0".
I re-flashed the ROM using Odin3 v3.07 and restart problem seems to be fixed, although it restarted many times initially after the re-flash.
But Kies problem is still not fixed.
I searched the forums here and some solutions suggested uninstalling, cleaning registry of Kies, and reinstalling Kies would fix these problems.
An interesting point to mention is that, although I re-flashed using UAE ROM, Kies still shows that my device is "KSA" version.
Any idea how to fix?
Unfortunately, the restarting problem has recurred and everytime I switch on the device it hangs and reboots
Any idea?
factory reset may be necessary

That's really hard
Well, I tried something stupid:
1- I cleared cache.
2- I flashed back to the stock original ICS 4.0.4 (SamMobile.com firmware) of KSA region (WITHOUT wiping any data)!
3- I flashed again with JB 4.1.1 of UAE region.
It seems to be working. Until now, there is no hangs whatsoever, and the device did not reboot.
Hopefully it works, I will keep you updated.
But Kies still shows that it does not support firmware upgrade on the device.
Unfortunately, I had to restore back to 4.0.4 and wipe my data
My data have been lost
Samsung is a bad company, week customer support!
I will have to wait and wait and wait for their official update to KSA region
Sh*t on everyone who told me in another post that updating to another country's firmware is not going to affect Kies update and will not cause problems. F*ck them! You answer without knowledge!

Hi All,
I ahve a problem with my SGS3 GT I 9300 Android 4.1.2. I cant connect to any Wifi. When I try to connect I get the message "Authentication error". The router has WPA2 encryption. Even when I setup the router with no encryption it gives this error.
What I did before:
I have had another SGS3 with the same Software on it and wanted to make a nandroid backup to the new SGS3. This worked fine and everything was good except the wifi.
I already tried to connect with adb shell to kill wpa_supplicant but also with no success.
I am out of ideas what I can do. I dont want to wipe the whole phone again and setup everything.
Please help!!!

No then you could try just flashing a kernel via Odin .

Hello, I just bought a galaxy s2 for boost mobile, and I have decided to root it. The root went well, and everything was fine, but then I made a mistake with installing a rom.
I installed Revolt
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1755884&highlight=wrong
And when I was finishing up, I misread and installed Gapps, but I didnt need to because I was not on nightly. And then everything messed up. Because I flashed an unnecessary version of Gapps, everything was broken, no keyboard, clock, or any other stock apps.
I have rooted, and flashed roms before, and this has happened, and I usually just re-install to fix it.
However, when I tried to go back into recovery (Siyah-Dorimanx Kernel) it says that it cant mount the SD card. I tried wiping all caches and data, and nothing happened. So then I tried to turn the phone back on, try to put a rom into the interal SD, or just connect it to the computer and fix it via Odin. The phone will not connect to the computer, and doesnt show up in odin.
Short Story
My phone will cant mount sdcards, or connect to my computer, am I screwed?
I also have checked other threads, with no solution.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Also, i cannot get wifi or any sort of signal from boost.
