Sold my XS, please suggest if I should wait for Xperia GX/TX etc, is Sony going to release these devices soon ???

I worked on these 2 devices with my friends..htc 1 x and S3 got toasted when playing games HD..dual core is enough to support a laptop!in any case i always prefer sony and wait for their releases..till now my XS is doing great..

Google never released any statements about support, and you certainly will not get updates when the nexus line do.
Sony Mobile Communications are in control of updates for this device. Not Google.

Honestly I would get a HOX if I was to buy a phone right now. After the issues at launch it seems like HTC has ironed out all the hardware issues. The latest update bringing ICS 4.04( previously 4.03) and sense 4.1 has tremendously improved the smoothness of the UI and battery life. It's now very much comparable to the SGS3 and far ahead of the XS. The SLCD2 is the best on the market at the moment too.
I dont mind Sony Phones running last year software on last year hardware, but WTF with charging the same price with devices that use latest hardwares and softwares. And Sony doesnt even update their softwares on time.

Above is total absurd !!!
I have got S3 n Xperia S both...XS stands nowhere against S3, its super smooth with real ZERO LAG..first time I have seen an android phone which is butter smooth !!!
Trust me I am one of the biggest Sony fan but I am really blown away by S3's performance..

I'll be upgrading my phone (from Xperia Arc LT15i) to one of the Xperia S or Galaxy SII, as they are the only ones in my budget.
I've seen the specs of both phones, and it appears that the Xperia S clearly has overall better hardware, and since I'm leaning towards the Xperia S, I'd like some personal experiences with it and if possible, compared to the Arc or GSII.
Sucks how I can't get a white version with my network carrier :/

The S is good... But there are more roms for the SGS II.. if you use your phone for gaming the Samsung is better since it has tegra chipset...
But I love my SXS and will definitely have a Sony again after this

I don't think that you'll be upgrading when you buy Galaxy S2, there are lots of devices "new devices" and I think you should wait a bit.
Performance wise SII beats the XS. Downside being the screen with just 480x800 resolution. But the development and choice of Roms is unreal. I'd go for the SII.

So guys I am planning to buy a new device.. And with the budget I have, there are two options for me.. S3 and One X but I am really confused between them!

S3 for the performance, One X for the design.
Although, they say that the Jelly Bean update for One X even made it at par with the S3 in terms of performance.
Just in case, dont buy the one x +, you can always root and unlock the one x's bootloader and overclock it, no need to spend extra bucks for that.
Also, take a look at nexus 4 2gigs of ram, quadcore krait cpu's, adreno320 gpu, and most of all- its a Nexus. And a beautiful one, on top of that.

Note 2 is better than S3 for me,n S4 will coming in February next year.

Hey guys. I'd like to consult with you if it is a good move to sell my Xperia S and buy Nexus 4. The nexus 4 is very attractive mainly because it is a very powerful device and is in the nexus family (android updates without delay) and cost only 350 USD. I think I can sell my XPS and buy Nexus 4!
On the other hand, I really like my XPS and I'm really afraid that the nexus will be a disappointment for me..
I know this is an Xperia S forum and and it's pretty silly to ask it hear, but I'd like to hear your advice.

If i was you I'd go for it right away. One thing that Sony lovers debate about is the design and i absolutely love the N4 in that aspect. And plus points over the XS are many. I'm getting one next month

Sony does have its plus points..The image quality,display clarity,music experience,UI etc of Sony is the best...But it fails in software support,delivery aspects...Nexus 4 will give u a pure android experience..It's definitely, a great buy...There are Rumours that the next Nexus will be part Sony...

Actually, I can't seem to really understand why are you guys against Sony.. I am very happy with my XPS and thanks to FXP team I am not worried about android upgrades.. I have a fully working JB for some time now. The main reason I want the N4 is because of the combination of good price, powerful specs and Google support.

And those you say anything but Sony, take note that Samsung also abandons budget phones like Galaxy Ace 1 and mid range like Galaxy W.
Other manufacturers like Motorola and LG fair much worst than Sony or Samsung.

Those phones are outdated, and ...Weak!
What we are talking here is about U and Sola. After 9 months, they've already abandoned us.
The Galaxy Ace 2 released at the same time as XU and it's getting JB next January!
Shame on you, Sony! Shame on you. I'm going for the Nexus or Samsung or even Nokia next time.

Yes I am. And I am very disappointed with Sony support & update..i have to wait more 4 months for a JB update..WTH!!!
I mean Sony is not valuing their flagship or premium users..look at Xperia S they r getting the update at very end..i am sure Sony will loose their premium users including me...

I'm really unimpressed by N4 stingy storage. It non standard hdmi output that hard to get and expensive to buy. Now I learn that usb host is impossible so there go usb2go solution.

Hahaha bro, this is nexus. You'll get the fastest update. Even if nexus will be part of sony. Because it came with google support. So don't worry about the update. If there's Xperia Nexus, wow the design must be sexy.

I just sold my S3, what phone do you suggest? I was thinking of the Xperia T, but the S4 chip doesn't seem too great and I don't like the design, they don't sell the Nexus 4 here, the Note 2 looks good but it's too similar to the S3, the OneX+ seems to have bad battery life.

Everyone will have their own opinions and reasons. Only you can decide, so do just that.
The post has no real relevance here either, just try the XDA generic Android forums for a broader view than S3 users.
The S4 chip is awesome and way better than crapsynos 4, plus you get the benefit of a fully or next to almost full working CM10.1 experience. So go with an Xperia T.
Seeing as you are so picky, I would suggest the Nokia 1100. Maintenance free, loooooooong battery life.
But seriously, I would wait till the Xperia Z is released. Or S4.

I could get the Asus Padfone 2 for the same price as the Note 2, but without the tablet. It looks nice, but not many people have it!
Where are you from? I'm sure you could import the N4?
I would pre-order Sony Xperia Z . It looks very good and premium, hardware is very good and Sony care about dev community.

definitely not the best phone right now, considering all the devices with 2GB of RAM and 1080p screens coming up

Rumours are that Android 5.0 will come in May/June. Since Sony provides needed sources, I guess SGS4 users will wait longer for stable build than Xperia Z users..

Main reason why I will most probably get Xperia Z is that Sony cares about dev community and provides needed sources. Also hardware is top and design very nice and premium, without cheap materials.
For me it is time to try other brands.
Right now i would like Sony Xperia Z.
If you can afford it just wait a month or so and get it, i'am sure you won't regret that decision.
I kinda regret it now. When buying, i was enticed by the specs and i thought: "this phine is awesome! No regrets buying it! Better than my laggy neo v!" now, the battery life is not good, its lagging now on jb moonbreaker 3.5. Kinda regret not choosing something better. Although we have awesome devs (thanks! ), i feel that the phone is a bit too overpriced for the specs, and taking on account that we don't have official support from roms like CyanogenMod, SlimBean, Paranoid Android etc. Just wanna hear your views here.

When i bought this phone - I wanted one with a screen size around 4-4.3 inches.
I narrowed it down to the Xperia S, Xperia P & the HTC One S.
I played around with all three and narrowed it down to the Xperia P. The price difference for the Xperia S & the One S was too much to justify.
Although i expected more official CyanogenMod support - I understand the lack of NovaThor support is what's the reason behind it.
With CM10.1 by @percy_g2 - the phone finally runs as i expected it to - smooth as butter.
I'm perfectly good with the phone and don't see any need to upgrade either - so long as percy fixes Bluetooth
The battery seems to be the one crippling factor for this phone though - I have made a habit to keep a charger handy and I do get 3-4 hours of screen on time which isn't shabby at all.

Don't regret , in some time we will have a blast in dev selection with new roms , i just need build server access from xda .I have applied and waiting.
Development these days needs lots of bandwidth with good speed which i don't have .
Build server will help in fast development and more things will come :angel: .

No regret at all, 100 pounds for completely new Xperia U is very good. Batterry life is good - 2 days with moderate use.

Locker bootloader? Lol, just unlock it! It's so easy!
No regret for buying Xperia U, Its runs great on gingerbread! On ICS its OK......
No regrets. I bought my Xperia U on day one for 199 euros, it was a best buy... Really GREAT performance on GB, worse on ICS, even a lot BETTER on JB (thank you kontini... You saved my phone!). Really sad the missed update to jb, sony is really bad to this... But i'll buy another sony because of fantastic design, and xperia are really easy moddable.
My next phone will be Sony Xperia Z, probably on november. I hope xD
Having mixed feelings about this phone, better rom support (=>availability of novathor sources) would have been nice.
But with cm10.1 it is a lot smoother than it used to be and battery life also has been a lot worse with stock.
I like the phones screen, I hate white magic, camera is decent, performance is not ideal.
This phone isn't bad, but could have been a lot better.
I don't regret buying this phone: The price wasn't bad and I won't make the same mistakes again.

I think that he meant he has a "unlock allowed = no" phone.
Coming from a Galaxy Ace-i, I'm completely satisfied Bought my white XU in February at €169, it was on sale, I hope it'll last a lot because I love it, the only "cons" are the quite small screen and the RAM problems on JB, but it's a great phone! Sony totally captured me, my next phone will be another Xperia :3
My classmate always tells me that my phone looks like a toy phone conpared to his Galaxy S4, but I reply that, at least, mine doesn't look like a plastic frying pan
