How to improve my battery? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi forum
This is my battery on a daily use. I'm using siyah kernel 1.5rc1 and latest omega v13. How can I improve it?

That's perfectly OK battery life.
Delete juice defender, other than that you're good to go.

So much spam! Your battery life seems fine to me by the way. Nearly 4 hours screen on time and still 36% battery left. Could easily get another hour or more.

Remove juice defender? Ok I mainly use it to turn my data off when the screen is off and to turn off my network during 12-8am. ' if I remove that what other app should in use?

Spam? This ain't spam is it? Sorry. It's cause I loose alot of battery per hour during deep sleep.
I have to charge my phone each day and I was hoping not to as I don't want to wear the device out.
Any more advice?

Don't use any, if you have to then use tasker.
Juice defender has he most wakeups and time awake of all your apps so its definitely not helping.

Also for more info I've under volted cpu to -50mv and kept it under closed to 1200mhz. ' is that okay or should I under volt more.
Also battery seems to heat up to 42degrees very quickly when using the Internet is that okay?

I think you will find .
Spam in this context means a repetition of the same question asked over and over again on the forum .Compounded by users refusing to follow the rules and search or read all the other identical threads .
Other app use Better Battery Stats looking for wakelocks during sleep .

You can undervolt by 100 if you want to, its up to you. Some phones can take it, some can't. I haven't seen anyone complain about not being able to yet though.
Don't bother underclocking the CPU, there's no need, just let it at stock speeds.
42 degrees is fine, that's not too hot.

i also undervolt my CPU for 100mA...No problems and the CPU heats less up, because less mA are needed

Bad battery overnight

Hello.
I'm loving absolutely everything about my s3 it's amazing.
But I have one issue, my battery life overnight.
Something is keeping phone awake!
How do I stop this?
Thank you.
Also is there going to be a fix for cell standby? Has any other phone had this cell standby issue and been fixed?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Search for betterbatterystats on xda and use that to find whatever is keeping your phone from deep sleep.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Check wifi sleep policy its by default always on turn it off it will make difference...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
But his WLAN is off as you can see. I have the same problem loosing 30% over night although being in Flightmode.
Usual suspects are latitude and the system backup. But as it has been said before get BetterBatteryStats and try to find the battery hog there.
Will do thank you.
Just charging now then will check batt stats tonight.

[help] battery was good now bad

Hay guys,
So for the first couple of weeks my battery life was awesome on the s3 and was going an entire day easy with like 40% at night before bed...
However now it is seriously draining fast, I go to work at 8 get home at 5 and I have about 12 percent left with moderately light use...
First thing I thought was maybe an app but in the battery section didn't show anything odd, I got betterbatterystats to see more detailed but don't know what alot of the wake locks are... Here are the screen shots any input/advice is welcomed!!!

WAKELOCKS ask in the better battery stats thread .

Have you changed the Rom? If so you need to download a battery calibrator from the store and reset the stats with it once fully charged.
You might have an app draining your battery, install free "Watchdog" app, and set it to monitor all processes, and it will sound an alarm if an app is misbehaving.
Also install cpuspy and reset the counter and then leave your phone for 30min or so, then check how much time your phone spends in deep sleep.

NOT TRUE.

Thanks got cpuspy and it spend most time in deep sleep... I'm Inking now it's because at work I have bad reception if that's the cause what can I do? If anything lol...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If you dont use 3g or 4g for downloads, switch your phone to gsm, A stronger signal means the phone does not have to work as hard and uses less power.
Also disable account syncing, stops your phone from waking up.

Samsung galaxy s3 Problem !!

Hello i just bought my s3 yesterday and battery is draining very fast i have used the fix but i have that problem of screen which takes 88% of batery and it's not normal ! here is a screenshot

Keeping the screen on will dran the battery since that's what screens do.
Regardless of the device (including laptops), screens always take >50% of the battery.
Could you show the screen-on time?

Let me venture a guess. When you get a new phone, you tend to play with it a lot, hence the screen on time and battery drain Give it a few days, it will be fine -- this phone has great battery life.

The battery needs to go through a few full cycles of drain and charge before it's reached optimal performance. First week battery drained more but now it's performing brilliantly.
Just keep letting it drain completely and charging fully a few times and have auto brightness selected.

I've heard that li-ion batteries don't suffer from memory issues and there's therefore no reason to calibrate them or run them in any specific charge/discharge cycle.
If you ask 100 different people about how best to use your battery you'll get 100 different answers. Don't worry about it, just enjoy the phone.
Hmm. This phone probably has the best battery life of any android phone I've owned, and I've had a few.

Yeahh check outt my screenshot..I have set the brightness level to the lowest and still display is taking much battery..even cell stand by.. do i have to fix anything?.. expert advices needed..thankss
Look in the attachments..
You haven't said how long the screen was on for.
I could show this first screenshot and say OMFG the battery doesn't last, but actually when you look at the second screenshot, then there's obviously no issues (and I am indeed perfectly happy with my battery life)

lol, I'm a bit OCD about these types of things.
But if it's not a problem then why do we need to do it?

Tripe.
Minimum of 3 cycles to reach peak performance. I have flashed hundreds of roms/kernals, it ALWAYS takes a few days for the battery to normalise.
Op, take a chill pill, calm down, post again in a few days. If you're still having drain, it will be down to an app or your settings.

Still the same **** i charged it 3 times and the battery is draining quickly when i'm just in facebook or an app it goes like 2 min = -1%

Maybe wrong charger, faulty battery and too many apps/widgets in the background?. Better have the device checked if the issue persists.

Is this good or bad?

So i bought this phone 2weeks ago and two days ago i flashed via odin xls8. This is my battery life. Is this good? Im unrooted and totally stock, on ics i had almost 5h of screen...

It's not bad. Try better battery stats to see your wake locks and cpu spy to see if your device is deep sleeping

About deep sleep i already checked vefore and it does but as for better battery status i just downloaded the app. Should i just let it installed and dont touch or do i need to run in the background?

Some parts of it need root access. But it should still give you the wake locks. Just let it run in the background and check it after a min of 5hrs
Is that good for you? That's all it matters.
It looks alright to me.
Can it be improved? Of course.

I think you have several times recharge the battery to 100% and also drain the battery until phone turn off to calibrate.
