Unique Launcher? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

im looking for a launcher thats not like any others?
Examples
Launcher 7 = nice
SSLauncher = good
Sweeter Home = seems good but theres no tutorial how to customise it!!!!
i just want a nice launcher thats not like all the others
Edit: One page launchers like launcher 7 is great if there is any other launchers like this.... and launchers without an app drawer i really like such as the iphone launcher or SSLauncher.... if there are any smiler things that would be very great

Try lightning launcher, it has a Zune theme and you can customize it.

Actually it's amazing. I thought it would destroy available RAM and cause slowdowns because its so feature/animation rich but not at all. It's homescreen transitions are smoother than any other launcher I've tried...except Launcher Pro but that was back inthe GB days (and for a while I've been in love with Apex and Nova).
When it first came out, yeah it sucked because it didn't have much. Nowadays, TSF shell is beast. I'm the type of guy who immediately has buyers remorse for anything that's frivolous and only for me...and it's been over a week with TSF and I'm still in love.
Once you fully customize it and have all the settings perfect...you might get punched in the face for annoying people since all you want to do is show them how cool your device is (I don't like tooting my own horn or showing off devices and yet I've done it multiple times after getting TSF)
Anyways, I'm not telling anyone this is the best for everyone...but had to throw in my 2 cents so TSF gets a fair rep.

I agree and the its terrible comment makes me wonder if he tried it for more than 30 seconds.

care to share a google play link? I can't find it

Simple Home is decent (though it doesn't support widgets).
I use Nemus Launcher just because of it's speed.
If you have a higher end device I'd say give SPB Shell 3D a go, it has some pretty sweet widgets
And if you have a tablet, Chameleon Launcher has some pretty cool features.

Maybe mihome launcher its like an iphone launcher

So... any of you guys tried this? I haven't been running it today, no need at this point with MikShift, but if/when I go back to AOSP-based roms, it will definitely be my launcher of choice, especially if they continue to develop and include matching widgets for each Launcher interface.
Thought I'd put the word out, it's quite a nifty home replacement. Find it on XDA or Market.

I kinda like launcher7..ish..in the android hacking section there's an entire post dedicated to it and images and all..really cool stuff

I was trying out "MYLAUNCHER" that's free in the market. I gotta say, it's not that bad. Still in beta though and in the early stages so not much in the settings menu...
Back to ADW for me for the time being...
Yeah, seemed really boring. Just different docks, right? I think that's supposed to be part of the appeal but it wasn't for me.

Yes, it would. But, since its open source anyone can build and modify it to release with their roms.
If someone wantexd to do that and include widgets, I don't see the harm.

I've seen this, I'm looking for some RECENT use info
I have been using it off and on these past few weeks. I don't really care for it. I mean it's nice and convenient. Just not for me.
I used it and liked it, but switch back and forth between that and adw. Gives the phone a different feel and again shows you why android is so good that you have all these options.

Yes, so the developers of ZPlayer and WP7Lock have joined the project I started a few weeks back, the Seven+ Project. I cannot speak for WP7Home, but Launcher 7 by Timo Kujala is our official launcher and I think it is quite good.

Oops meant to press quote, but you could try using the stock HC launcher. I like that the best out of all the ones I've tried

I think he meant the stock honeycomb launcher, not the stock htc launcher. The stock honeycomb launcher does not have wasted space, the other two I'm not sure about.
Ah yeah I saw a "t" in there that wasn't there lol. Yeah I saw the team syndicate one and I tried it out, only problem is it was kinda designed for gb and froyo so it has a virtual notification bar that can't be disabled... However that was the free version it might be able to be disabled on the paid I dunno. Anywhere on XDA I could just grab the apk for the actual stock launcher and install it?

GO Launcher EX is good. Has lots of features that most Launchers don't
But I always miss the glorious sense widgets that you cannot get any where else.
Honestly I've warmed up to the sense launcher a bit. Its basic and bare but the cool animations and awesome sense widgets make it worth using. As far as real estate, Go launcher HD had the issue too, just seems to be a honeycomb thing so whatever really. Think I'll just stick with Sense for now!
yea go launcher HD (beta) is a nice alternative to the stock or htc launchers for sure. just started using it today and really like the folder support
it's not on the market u'll have to search around for it
Yeah I found it from a google search, had a download link, and thats how I got it
Yeah I tried Go Launcher HD and it certainly a beta. Need lots of work.

No grid alignment for icons they stay where you put them, Lasso tool for arranging icons ala Bumptop Style. Loads of sweet screen transisitons like roller-Icons that is just soooo slick. The special animated widgets that add a bit of style to your screen.
To me it's more than just a launcher its a full desktop replacement with it's own language for interacting with your device.
I like to think of it as how Windows 8 would of turned out if Microsoft had been using it's brain!
Tell me, where is notification bar? I cant see it anywhere

Absolutely no offence against TSF (as it REALLY is a nice programmed launcher and I deeply respect such works!!), but what you just summed up was my experience as well...being just "cosmetic" stuff without any added value compared to my nova launcher. Some might love such stuff, for me it is just way too expensive for just having "roller-Icons" or "special animated widgets".
Not my stuff at all
i really like the animation and feature, but 1 only issue.. i can't find the option to change height and width margin on the apps drawer? all i can find is only changing the rows and column.. it looks messy from what i saw.. any solution guys?

+1000 main reason I'm not using it. Pity they still haven't looked into it, Next launcher is rock solid with no fcs and scrollable widgets run smoothly.
Using it and loving it! Definitely not for everyone, as it does take some time to get used to (not having the built in grid pattern & the high price) but is actually pretty awesome on the larger screened Note 2! As for lag/stability, it has been absolutely stable and lag free for me for the past two months. Anyone who's already bought it I would give it another shot! Sad that there isn't a longer refund window for apps over a certain price (now there's an idea) so that a person could actually explore it to see if they like it before shelling out $14+
Being lazy now and pasting my comment from another thread:
"Here are a few of my screens. I use TSF Shell (REALLY expensive for a launcher, I think I paid $14). Yeah I was enough of a sucker that I was willing to shell that much out for something that seemed like a significantly different UI experience. At the time I was using a "smaller" screen phone (Galaxy Nexus) and remember thinking that it was neat, but a lot of the features would be of more use on a tablet. Then I got a phablet...
TSF doesn't have any pre-defined grid, BUT you can group icons together (and line them up with eachother) and place them anywhere on the screen you wish. (You could create several different groupings of different densities and put them in different places.) Widgets can be sized and placed however you like as well. This "feature" was actually annoying (and not a feature at all for me) on smaller screen phones but was great on the Note 2 :victory:
One a couple of the screens you'll notice that icons are grouped in the lower right corner; this allowed me to comfortably reach them all with one handed operation, which was my only challenge with the N2.
I used to be a die hard Nova Prime user (and likely would be again on a smaller device), but on my wonderful big N2 screen I couldn't be happier
(I realize that this is not a "favorite launcher" thread, but was waiting for the chance to gush about TSF a bit "
