Replace freexperia logo with sony logo in cm9 startup. - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Ive replaced the cm9 boot animation with the generic ics animation, but at the very beginning when you turn on the phone there is a freexperia logo aswell. How do i replace that with the default sony logo? From what ive read while the ics/cm9 nimation is in system files, then freexperia logo is in kernel. Anyway to get rid of this and replace with sony logo?

You have to unpack kernel and replace logo.rle with one from stock kernel(inside ramdisk folder)

Any tutorial on how to do this? I cant find anything and im no expert.

ok so i've read the following 4 threads but quite honestly this is really really out of my level of skills ( i prepared for 4 months before flashing to cm9!!).
http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=HOWTO:_Unpack,_Edit,_and_Re-Pack_Boot_Images
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443431
http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-all-things-root/492758-boot-logo-help-me-change.html
As i understand it thought instead of unpacking the boot.img and repacking and flashing, i can jsut create a new flashable zip (i think...or is it a flashable boot.img with only the init.rle and location so it will only flash that portion). with the new logo. I looked on my phone and the file init.rle is placed in the root directory, but from reading those threads it seems i can't just replace that file, i need to either flash the whole boot.img again or the zip with the update.
also i looked and can't find the sony startup logo anywhere.
Could someone thats also interested in this and has more skill than me please create either the full boot.img for me with the new image, or preferably just the updatable zip file with new boot image with sony logo. I'd really really appreciate it.

....ok tomorrow when i'm at work i'll make it for you, only a question, could you upload your boot.img only to be shure to mod the right one?
Inviato dal mio ST18i

Attached my boot.img (its the one from cm9 final stable released august 10).
I'd upload the Sony image but i cant find any. And since i don't have stock rom anymore i cant extract it from there. hopefully you have access to it. Its basically the simple Sony logo that shows up at startup of the new xperia's and the post ICS update (not the old sony ericsson one).
So just to clarify all i would then need to do with the new boot.img you create is to run the following command and i'll be fine?
fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
Edit: exact kernel info:
2.6.32.9-fxp

Just out of curiosity, is it init.rle or logo.rle that needs to be replaced? You mention logo.rle but all threads say init.rle.
Lastly, when you upload new boot.img, can you please also upload the init.rle/logo.rle with sony logo you used separately, that way if theres ever a kernel update i can just ask whoever has time to repack it for me instead of bothering you.

Hi can you please mention what kernel that is, the name, version number etc and the info in status for kernel. That way if anybody else is ever looking for the same thing they can just use your rebuilt one instead of asking again.

its sirkay jb kernel version v1.0.2 ! sorry ~

Hi could you please also insert the same sony logo.rle into the attached boot.img. This is the boot.img from cm10 nightly of august 25 2012.
thanks

sory heres the boot.img. The size was too big so i've zipped it.

[WT19i][Tweak] Enable Dual Speakers in LWW for FXP CM9 [LWW]

For all who want desperately to make the Dual speakers of LWW work in the new ICS Roms (FXP Cm9) etc, Please REPLACE or ADD the following files (attached) in the zip file of the respective Rom that you are using in the CORRECT PATHS, before flashing that Rom in CWM. The paths are already given in the "RAR" archive, but for your convenience, I'm writing them once again.
For a CWM Flashble Zip (Dual Speakers and X-loud) For FXP CM9 Check ATTACHMENT....Flash It After flashing CM9....in CWM...
File Paths for Dual Speakers :
/system/bin/mediaserver
/system/lib/hw/audio.primary.default.so
/system/lib/hw/audio.primary.msm7x30.so
/system/lib/hw/audio_policy.default.so
/system/lib/hw/audio_policy.msm7x30.so
/system/lib/liba2dp.so
/system/lib/libaudioeq.so
/system/lib/libaudioflinger.so
/system/app/AudioEffectService.apk
/system/etc/audio_effects.conf
/system/etc/permissions/com.sonyericsson.audioeffectif.xml
/system/framework/semc_audioeffectif.jar
/system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf
Hope this makes your ICS experience even more 'bug'-less.

Confirmed to work with FXP cm9...So, it does not work on MiniCm or ExMIUI due to different building sources...
For a CWM flashable zip by 'someguyfromhell' check THIS out and post your findings and issues with different Roms. This zip is confirmed to work on GB CM7. The flashable zip in not for ICS Cm9.

Should I create a CWM-flashable .zip file?
Also, your first post says to replace these files before flashing the ROM. That will not work, because ROM installation replaces these files, causing the dual speakers to not work.
These files need to be replaced after ROM installation.

Making boot.img

Hi!
I'm wondering about if I replace the original #whatever#.rle with the new one in boot.img, will that hard-brick my device?
Learning how to mod.....
No. It won't.
Btw, you could have got this answer in the ace forums too..

I had try it. And work's fine, nothing get hard-brick. Change *.rle file is just change the image on the 1st boot after logo and before bootanimation. I always use this tool, to change that image.
This link maybe help u:

And this for step by step on Galaxy Mini with detail tutor (u can use google translate if u don't know about the lang.)

Nah..Nothing will happen. But in Ace,it is known to cause a bug that disables the boot animation.

boot.img creation from the stock ftf

Hi everyone,
I'm noob here. I'm using Xperia S. And now learning mote about android.
However I have a question, how can I make boot.img from my ftf file?
Sure, I extracted the ftf, decrypt the kernel.sin into kernel.elf.
From kernel.elf, I decrypt it again and get 4 files, one image (I suppose it is kernel zImage), one ramdisk.gz, one file forgotten and another is elf.4.
Okay, now the problem comes.
The main purpose of me is to change the bootlogo of my Xperia S.
I searched for a day to change the bootlogo, most need to add the rle file into boot.img file (ramdisk).
For sure I read through the site how to unpack, edit and repack the boot image.
The kernel and ramdisk of mine are extracted from ftf but not existing custom Rom,
1. Can I directly use the mkbootimg program to create boot.img? Will it work out?
2. Do I need to aware of any parameters or setting for Xperia S? Since I worried that different devices have diff setting.
3. Is it better to make it on linux? I found mkbootimg.c in c language file but not precompiled program as tutorial, the link given is broken. Can work also?
Sorry, I'm really quite new and very noob, I tried searching and many other things, but still can't figure it out.
Hope that pros here can help me...

For how to decrypt the kernel.sin, you can use Flashtool (not Sony official one)
Under Tools (perhaps I remember correctly), there is a option about decrypt SIN, and then you can choose the kernel.sin you want to decrypt.

[Q] [SOLVED] Touchscreen doesn't work

Hello everybody,
My name is Leandro, I live in Argentina, so my english is not good enough I've a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini ST15
Today I was experimenting with mi phone but I make a terrible mistake.
Let me tell us in order what happend:
- I had ParanoidAndroid 2.53 with some bugs tippical of a beta edition
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963556
- I decided to back to ICS. I installed Cyanogen Mod 10 FPX 150
https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/cyanogen-mod-10
However I don't fell confortable without a sock camera
- I download and install (with all the wipes) XPERIA Ultimate HD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991371
It doesn't come with the "boot.img" so I download KernelPanic 1.25v (I put into my phone via Fastboot)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861905
HOWEVER I didn't notice when I installed the new rom, the device I'd selected wasn't mine (I make that terrible mistake)(I'd selected "LVW" or something like that)
- When I ran the new ROM, the touchscreen didn't work but all the buttons worked fine. :crying:
- I tryed to back to the Official ROM via Flashtool, but the touchscreen continued with this issue
- I reinstalled the XPERIA Ultimate HD choosing correctly but didn't work
I asked to some people, but they don't know about Sony devices.
If someone knows something to do I will apreciate too much.
Thanks in advance!

obviously, I did that as I write in the begining, that's why I don't understand the problem, because I did all the wipes, put the same rom in the correct way, put another rom, the official rom, but, nothing happends, it's the same.
It's like I "change" an internal driver that the following instalations doesn't modify.
Did you format system partition before trying to reflash other roms?
Anyhow the touchscreen driver is in system/etc folder, the name is touch_nameofdevice.hex, if you push that file from a rom for your device and the hw_config.sh it should fix it

Try this:
1. Download that
2. Open the zip and replace all files in the bin folder with files for your device (!), for example from a custom rom for xperia mini
3. After pushing files for your device in there, pack the content again (the meta-inf folder and the bin folder)
4. Copy this to sd card and flash it with cwm
5. This could work, but I can't promise anything
Hope you will get a working touch screen again!

[P/U/Sola/Go][TOOL] Flashable zip Kernel Creator

Hello everyone !
After creating flashable recovery zips of TWRP for multiple ROMs of Xperia U (TWRP for Xperia U by NoobCoder),
I want to share today my tool with Xperia P/U/Sola/Go community !
This simple tool permit create an recovery flashable zip file for our phones from img or elf kernel/recovery !
But first you need this tool if:
A developper of an kernel or an recovery don't create an flashable zip of kernel/recovery
You want or need flash kernel before install an ROM
You have Windows 8/8.1 and you have problems with fastboot
You prefer a recovery flashable kernel/recovery
Click to collapse
The tool requires:
OS: Windows or Linux (and Mac I think)
Java installed on your computer
Kernel/Recovery file (boot.img or boot.elf)
An Xperia P/U/Sola/Go phone with recovery installed (CWM or TWRP)
Click to collapse
If everything is good for you, we can begin !
First you need download my tool on this link > Xperia-PUSolaGo-KernelZipCreator_v1.5.zip
Uncompress the zipped folder where you want and after go in uncompressed Xperia-PUSolaGo-KernelZipCreator folder.
Copy kernel .img or .elf file in tool folder (where you can find 7za.exe, run_linux.sh, etc...)
Now you can start script !
If you are on Windows open run_windows.bat file and if you use Linux (or Mac) start the run_linux.bat file.
When you start the script an list of all .img or .elf files in the folder appears. You have just to enter the number associed with the kernel you want to create the zip.
Wait few seconds and after script end you found boot_signed.zip file.
Copy it in your phone and flash this boot_signed.zip file on the phone recovery (CWM or TWRP).

Good work, though just an advice..change-
Code:
boot.img or boot.elf
to
Code:
*.img or *.elf

Yes, good idea ! I upload a new version this afternoon !
Version 1.5
Version 1.5 is out !
In this new version, the idea of @Abhinav2 is added !
You can add any .img or .elf file without rename it and when you start the script an list of all .img or .elf files in the folder appears. You have just to enter the number associed to the kernel you want to create the zip file !
Compatible also Windows and Linux/Mac !
You can download the new version here: Xperia-PUSolaGo-KernelZipCreator_v1.5.zip
It is really possible that it won't work, but I don't lose anything if I ask
Could I flash a custom kernel on locked bootloader with this method?
