[App] Sense 4.5 camera - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Here's the sense 4.5 camera. Everything works from what I can tell.Just adds a button on the main screen to switch from front and back cam. And the zoom slider is in a better spot on the right. May be other things.

Flashable thanks to Gumby63

I just attempted an install, but it bombed, saying that the same application with a different signature is already installed. Did you rename the stock camera APK using Root Explorer in system, to get this 4.5 revision to install? Thanks!

Thanks for this, here's a flashable zip. Feel free to add to the OP if you want

I tried this, but after the reboot, the camera was not functional. So, I simply removed the 4.5 apk from the system/apps folder, installed the new apk, and I was all good. Thanks so much for this!

No it doesn't. The app just closes.

Ok. I did notice that if your started video in portrait, then turned to landscape, it would work.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium

But now when you go to view the video aren't you forced to look at it sideways?

You don't have to turn it sideways for it to work, but, if you want to video sideways, then you have to start filming in portrait, then turn the camera sideways.

Update = no shutter sound option on camera?

I just recently tried out a couple of ROMs with 2.3.4 and I've noticed that the camera app no longer has an option to turn off the shutter sound, and I personally hate the shutter sound. With a passion. Is there any huge differences between this updated camera app and the last one? Because i may just get the old one if not, or has anyone else noticed this at all?
Do a quick search, there is a tweaked camera available. It removes the sound, adds panorama & HDR options as a bonus.

Is this another GSM vs CDMA feature? Cause I'm on stock GSM 2.3.4, and my shutter sound option is still working!
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D using Tapatalk
Yeah, CDMA could turn it off before the latest OTA and before the ota we couldn't take screenshots w/o root, while gsm versions could.
I did do a search actually, well from my phone. I didn't find anything though, where can I get just the .apk for that?
I would like to know that as well.

Anyone have the stock evo 3d camera apk, modified to be without the shutter sounds, etc.? Is there a stock rom anyone knows of that I could pull it from? Thanks.

There is no option to disable it and deleting the sound files does not disable the sounds. They are in the camera.apk which I discovered here.
So Im trying this now...

Use the camera APK from warm twopointthree. I have modified it so you can toggle the shutter sound on/off.

This was not in the Apple patent..
It was in the pattent. It's not allowed to show a menu from the browser or the messaging apps. But the op's request is also a question I have. It would be nice to figure this out.

Yeah I had no problem doing this in sense 3.6. I hope HTC updates their app association settings to include a few more options. It's really bare. Most of the problems people have been having should be able to be fixed in software update.

If you had a us based sense 3.6 it should have had this problem as well. The cause is htclinkifydispatcher.apk. If you are rooted you can remove this app in /system/apps restart and you'll get your menu back but some apps such as talk and messaging won't work correctly with links anymore.

Screen shot

If im not mistake you would either have to be running a custom rom with screen shot option in the extended power menu or just download an app. There are plenty of them for rooted and non rooted users
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
hold down the power button, if its a custom rom, it shud most probably be there. otherwise find Power Menu settings and then activate Screenshot
Get screen grabber from the play store. No root required. Be sure to change the settings for root in the app before trying if you don't have root.

I've never figured out how to do the Motorola Screen shot on this device without the volume rocker showing up in the pic. I have an old free app called Shoot Me that isn't available anymore. It takes great shots and also does continuous screen casts. There is a color fix setting that needs to be selected for it to work properly on this device. Requires root. If anyone wants a copy, just PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

Yes, it is like a video recording of your screen. Yes, it works. It is still on the market, but only available with certain models. I attempted to upload a demonstration mp4 but it said "invalid file".

If you're original 4G MoPho then slap a CM7 ROM on that bad boy and set her loose! Screenshot via power button. Then, backup, and flash a Jellybean ROM! Recover back and forth depending on what you need. Play movies via HDMI to your TV? Th3bill's JB ROMs do it naturally. Need Netflix? Recover back to GB, CM7. Never use any third party app on the MoPho. Just get what you need, and flash via custom recovery. I use Th3bill's CWM recovery, I'm old school, but I LOVE TWRP. My Photon is the only device of 4 not to run TWRP. Flashing is fun, easy, and oh so rewarding. Have some joy in your device!
you can find application like screen graber or screen capture ect.. on play store
