So I decided to change my lcd density on my phone to 200 from the stock 240. I am on aokp siyah which I doubt matters but I was just wondering is there a way for me to get YouTube working with a changed LCD density? Forgive me if this has been posted but I couldn't find anything (I am a horrible searcher) flame me if there is a thread I will take it
Also its just when I try to load a video it says an eror occurred so I just deleted the app and apparently I can't download it with 200 density

Clear market data and attempt to re-download it; then, try it again.

You could try LCD Density Modder or try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24416330
Inverted YouTube app seems to run fine with most all dpi's. Also have u tried using LCD density modder pro?

I will try density modder and see how it goes! Thanks for the help
Edit: would it be okay if I used the free version? I haz no monies and I can't find a thread on xda for it.

Has anyone gotten the misaligned lockscreen clock and notification pull-down tab when changing dpi? I tried set it to 219 and 220 when thus happened. Running cm9 stable. Any thoughts?

Ill say it again. 213 has been my magic number. I've yet to have a single issue with that dpi. For whatever reason 213 just works and doesn't cause any market conflicts.

There are alot more than that. 200, 160, and some odd one that Hyperdroid ran stock on fit perfectly. sure alot more. read somewhere something about the sizes, and how some just wont match up.
market issues are gonna be had.
And FYI, LCD Modder will NOT work with JB. least IME

I've had trouble with 200 in the past. I think 183 was another one that worked well for me but I never got used to how small things got and I think it made the dialer look funny. I don't even remember where I found that 213 works, but its never let me down (knocks on wood)

My lockscreen clock is still misaligned to the right at 213.... there's no way around that if changing dpi's?

I managed to fix my problem by just acting like a derp and messing up my phone leading to a factory reset and many market wipes and it magically worked

What rom? I'm on cm10 and the clock sits to the right by default. I pulled out my cm9 Captivate (stock 240dpi) to check and its aligned the same as my s2 with 213dpi; to the right.
If you're running a Sammy based firmware then I've no idea what the Samsung lockscreen should look like but maybe dpi changes just don't play nice with Sammy firmware?

I can't install anything from the market and it's getting really annoying. Every app says my device is incompatible. I've tried wiping market data, wiping cache, wiping dalvik, reinstalling gapps from ROM manager and nothing works.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I just recently got an app of mine (cut the rope) saying it's incompatible with my atrix. Does anyone know what the default dpi is? I haven't changed it recently so I don't know why all of a sudden it would be incompatible with this game though...oh and the game this works btw.

Restored to 240 via LCD density and now the market works (did that on purpose so after a reboot it will be back to 220). Anyone know how to avoid the market going all wonkey like that with the density changed?

the market is programmed to check your phone's density, i don't believe there's a known workaround yet.

I had the same problem with the market and switched back to the old. Alien Rom has a zip for the old market available and make sure you freeze Market Updater 1.0 with Titanium or else it will keep updating back to the new.
Title says all.... Although, I think its called DPI. Makes the status bar smaller and stuff.....?

LCD Resolution (root)
Hi there,
This should help you out:
LCD Resolution (root)
As you can tell by the name, the app requires root previlages.
Cheers!
Is it allowed on the V? Its default is 160.

I currently just downloaded this app to try it out.. changed it from 160 to 130 and it froze the phone up.. made the screen look like a tv when you change it to an off channel with all the snow lol .. Phone is not restarting and looks good.. I'll try it one more time to double check and report back
Alright i was able to turn it down to about 140 and it seems to work pretty well.. I dont know if ill end up keeping this app just becuase i'm fine with how it looks just figured id let ya'll know also dont put it to apply at boot just in-case lol
I tried lower than 150, and I get a.black shadow near the bottom using a app.

I've tried it before too, certain ROM's don't like you changing the dpi. Like with the CM nightly's, i got lag all over, going down to 140

I'm currently running Foxhound rom.its a great from and by default its LCD density is set to 200.So what are the benefits of setting it to a lower value rather than 240 which is default. Thanx.

Everything looks smaller and you can fit more on the screen with a lower setting. Higher numbers make everything bigger.

I had issues with the phone apk crashing when running altered resolutions, specifically 180. So I just left it on 200 which is "stock" for foxhound.

I must be the only one that likes 240 lol. Basically anything lower makes everything to small to click on. It looks nicer but tapping stuff seems more annoying to me. I believe 185 or 182 is supposed to be very compatible though if people want to try that out.

Is it okay to change the razr dpi if so anyone recommend. Good Ond
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
How is that even possible?
"dpi" is generally referring to "dots per inch", a spec on printers. If he's referring to "ppi", or "pixels per inch", the spec for pixel density on a display, then no- it cannot be changed.
You need a root device and there are apps in the market for this, like dpi changer. Make sure your prepared for the worst if you pick a bad setting. Not everyone has a perfect experience.

I haven't tried it on my razr, but on my old galaxy s you could simply change it in your build.prop if you have root then reboot for it to take affect.

I have mine set to 230 right now. I personally just used ROM toolbox, but it is just a build prop setting i've also changed my wifi scan interval, ring delay, and proximity sensor delay.

Lower is better right? I have it running on 200, just changed it with a file explorer (open build.prop in the system folder look for the line LCD.density) and try some settings on, google play and some apps don't work properly anymore when density is too low.
dpi lowering failed
I had no problems using LCD Monitor app to lower the dpi on my CDMA RAZR M with ICS, but when I had JB running on it all I got was an endless loop at reboot. I believe it got stuck while shutting down. I forced it and got it to boot to Safestrap but thats as far as I could go. I really do have this phone. Or should I say I hate Verizon for locking the bootloaders. Probably gonna sell it and go back to my trusty D2 and good old Froyo. NEVER had a problem. And dropped that phone hundreds of times on the pavement and it never faulted. I doubt the RAZR will be that tough

I was going to hope for a font fix first before I tried to learn how to adjust DPI. I'm not sure if there will be any unintended consequences going that route.

That works pretty well. The only down side I've seen so far it it expands the screen to just off the viewing area, like for the drag to unlock. I also hate scrolling left to right to read web pages if I try and find one on my phone, but I've grown used to that and try to stay off the internet on the phone when I can.
I do like the DPI adjustement. I'll have to play with it some more and find my ideal setting.
