my Xperia S cannot connect with Navigon Fresh on the PC.
The device will not be recognized as a Mass storage device.
I have also tried with and without "debug mode".
Any ideas?
Thanks!

connect the xperia S to usb go to my device manger uninstall the xperia s reset computer
try to locate the it by pc companion
give it 5-7 min to located -> if not unplug and plug it again try again
if not update pc companion!!
if not change usb port in computer, usb cable, (and mobile )
it wont be recognised as a mass storage it will be recognised as xperia S as media player
so click on the xperia S icon in my computer there there is a mass storage
MAKE SURE YOU NOT COPY FILE BIGGER THAN 4GB it will crash system !!
i hope it help
PC Companion recognizes the device and also files can be browsed.
BUT Navigon Fresh does not recongnize the Xperia S (and only the Xperia S).
I have reinstalled the driver/PC Comanion and rebooted both devices...still no success.
Anybody managed to connect the Xperia S with Navigon Fresh?
I've been successful with Navigon Fresh and its actually really simple. Navigon Fresh can only find Phones which are attached as a mass storage device. Since this is not possible with our Xperia S (as of yet), you'll have do a little workaround:
1) Get an SD Card or a USB-Stick and plug it into your Computer. I used a 2GB SD Card which was sufficient.
2) Copy the Navigon folder from your Xperia S to your SD Card or USB Stick
3) Start Navigon Fresh, it will recognize the media as a Navigation Device
4) Download maps or whatever you like with Navigon Fresh
5) Quit Navigon and copy the Navigon folder from your SD Card or USB stick back to your Xperia S (overwrite all files)
6) Start Navigon on your Xperia S and see if it worked
Thanks for this great tip!
That worked for me!
Now, I am pretty happy with my Xperia S again ;-)
I have an IMac but it doesn't recognize my phone at all. Thanks for the USB-stick advise, will try that...
Edit: download bridge for Mac

It seems the USB stick trick worked too for my Samsung S3, Navigon fresh did detect on the USB stick my product

[Xperia Sola] Can't see SD card on PC

Hi
I have a problem with my Sola when I plug it into the computer I can see the internal storage but not the SD card. I tried all the connectivity setting and I installed PC Compagnon.
I read on sony forum that driver on PC could be the cause, but I don't know wich one to install...
Thanks
Mabe you can give a try to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606940 if you got a rooted device!
Cheers!
Hmm thanks but I wanted to be sure that all is fine with the phone before unlocking the BL
And this app is for Xperia S that doesn't have SD card slot so im sure about it

Did you remember to turn on USB debugging ?
Hit thanks if I helped !
I tried already, the usb debbuging is detected but the sdcard and internal was not detected.
I'm not sure but maybe your device doesn't use UMS( usb mass storage protocol) anymore, instead it uses MTP( media transfer protocol) and it doesn't work all the time, try and see what pc companion says

I already solved the problem, i flashed the GB stock firmware then go to device manager and update both internal and sdcard drivers. Then I flashed the ICS stock firmware and it works.

Installing driver everytime I connect Z2 in MTP mode!

Greetings XDAians!
Help Me Pls!!!
Whenever I connect my Z2 to my PC via USB cable in MTP mode, the computer though detects the device but am unable to surf my Internal and External Card and thereafter I have to reinstall the driver for MTP and then only am able to see both the drives on my PC. I have to repeat this procedure each time I connect my cell.
But when I connect my device in MSC mode, there is no problem. My system immediately detects my phone and I can easily browse my SD card.
My system runs on Windows 7 64 bit.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Regards!
Are you using the same USB port?
Yes .. Indeed I use the same USB port to connect my Z2 every time!
And each time I restart my PC, I have to reinstall the driver for Z2 when connecting in MTP mode!
Please Help!
Am still having the same issue. Could anyone have any idea on this please? Help!
