Hello xDa,
I'm new to XPS, category... I had a arc...day b4 yesterday I received my XPS, anyhow joined the club !!!!.... I have a simple problem. I haz the EP850 Charger, but it takes more time to charge & sometime stuck in middle. then I have to remove the cable and re plug it to get it charge again....
Example :
First day I have charging for 2-4 hours, When I saw the phone It was stuck at the 80%, then I removed the USB & plugged in then It charged way normally !!!
Also today the same !!! it got stuck on 46% WTF ???
Is that a stock Sony charger ? I dont recommend third party chargers as they fked up my Arc.

Maybe try with xrecovery to see if it can communicate with your phone??
Have you tried charging from a PC/Wall normally for half an hour ?
i had the same problem my solution was too: put in the wall charger for a half an hour(even if it dont wanna charg) and then i used SEUS(sony ericsson update service) i press the back button for like 4 minits or so when i connected the phone. and suddenly it whent flashing.
hope it helps you
somebody said to me it is the sony ericsson repair method.
[SOL]
1. Download Update Service From Sony Ericsson Website
2. Then , Follow the steps in update service
3. u Can Recovery phone in 2.1 Update
Dude i think you phone battery got deep-discharged....So all you have to do is to charge your phone by adapter charger (for at least 12 hours)...
Follow The Instructions Below-:
1.Connect The adapter to the phone...(don't try to switch it on,from anyways)
2.Let the phone Charge till 12 hours
3.Unplug the Charger and connect the phone with PC and use SEUS to Reinstall a fresh ROM.

remove battery and try reconnecting it (you should be able doing that witout removing any screw)
if no result disconnect it again and connect to an ac/dc adapter @3V for half an hour
pay attention to the polarity (+/-)

seus, DCcharging, flasher, ,
hope you can find other answers
good luck and up for you
Try a Hardware reset first, then connect to System and via SEUS reset the phone to 2.1
Dude as i said you before try the below linked Thread...it might help...just give it a try.

For the further queries i'll be there for you....
I have exactly the same problem .. try a long time but nothing ...is dead...
Maybe you didn't have battery left to try to solve the problem and therefore it is always red without charging if there is a problem, if you connect the phone by usb to the computer and the phone doesn't start or charge then it really is a problem. Try to use the Sony Update Service, download it, then you just have to select your model on the program and it will tell you to press the Back Button on the phone and then connect it with usb (still holding the back button), this will bring the phone to it's original state (Stock Android) and back to life.

simply use SEUS to restore stock ROM and kernel.so long as your computer can recognise the device when connected .
Hi all,
I opened my brand new SGS2, put in the battery and plugged in the charger to the phone and started charging. First i was confused (coming from a nokia) because there was no indication of charging.
The indication appeared some 10 minutes later in the form of a flashing battery icon that disappeared after some time.
Now it has been a couple of hours and the battery icon is gone and nothing happens when i press the power button - i.e my brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 is not even starting!!
Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? Does it just need a good long charge? Frankly, im quite terrified after having sunk in a lot of money for this phone.
(i hope my phone (or battery) is not a lemon and i'm just being a mega-noob )
Please, please, please help!!!
Thanks in advance
There're surely something not working correctly.
Don't know if it's the phone itself, the battery or the charger.
Try removing the battery and putting it back again and check it is placed correctly as well as the cable, charger and wall plug.
Normally the big battery icon should appear few seconds after you plug the phone into the charger.

removed the battery thrice and tried - nothing happened. Battery, charger and wall-plug - everything proper.
I did see the icon, but now its gone and the phone is not starting.
My only hope is to keep it on charge overnight and hope for a miracle by tomorrow :|
Guess will take the phone to the service center tomorrow. Nightmare this is
Thanks anyways, man

Just wondering. Did you long press the power button when trying to boot the phone? A quick tap on the power button won't boot it. You have to hold it for just a second or two to register.

This. When I got mine I just gave the power button a quick press as this worked fine on my Nexus One, but the S2 seems to need a long press to boot.
may be a software probs !!! try flashing with anyother ROm !
To see the battery charging icon you should press home button on the bottom.
To power on you should press power button on the right for about 3 seconds.

Mine is a ***** to turn on with charger plugged in.
Try taking charger out. Then hold power till you see logo. Only a few seconds.

will have to do that only, i guess
Turn the phone off and remove the battery for about a minute and then try.

i did it for 3 seconds, then 5 seconds and 10 seconds too. Nothing. Yesterday it was showing the flashing battery icon for quite some time. I went to sleep thinking, finally it is charging but then when i woke up it is dead.
I read somewhere that the battery charging icon is actually discharging the phone?
Dont fiddle with it anymore. Just exchange it from where you bought it.
Yeah, with charger plugged mine usually decides it likes to stay asleep then powering up.
And w/o anything attached I usually have to "beg" (=hold power button) for like 10 to 15 seconds sometimes until I see the bootsplashlogo.
Nothing that's bothering me, one just have to know it takes a while.

I have tried another USB charger and tried it on my PC's USB port and nothing at all from it. It wont charge. No charge light and it wont power on.

I plugged in my phone to the wall charger (because my phones battery was low not dead..) and when i checked whether it had charged after about 30 mins.. My phone DIDN'T respond.. my notification LED was flashing (Which means that my phone wasnt dead.. I pulled out the battery and put it back in right away.. My phone didnt boot up.. :crying: i pulled out my battery a couple more times thinking that it was a lose battery fault or something but no.. A few hours later i tried searching online for help.. I read some posts which had been posted on XDA saying that if your phone is soft Bricked u have to flash a new kernel and etc... i tried to boot my phone into Flashmode, it didnt respond. Not even fastboot mode.. When i connect my phone to a USB cable.. the notification LED gives out a red light and after 10-15 mins it goes off.. Its been almost a week now.. And Yes i've unlocked my Bootloader and rooter my XPERIA U. If you guys know something that i could do to get my phone back up and running again.. please tell me.. thanks in advance

I was using Unofficial_StockJB_XU_V6 :good:
I tried charging via a wall charger for about 7 hours now :silly:
i'll try to charge with a USB charger connected to my pc.. Fingers crossed.. BTW
How long should i charge it i mean.. Do i have to wait for a sign?
(Like, the red charging light from the notificaton LED)
(the Red LED just turns on when i plug in the Wall/ USB charger and goes off after 10-15 mins)
or would the phone turn on by itself?

Remove the battery and leave it that way for an hour and then press and hold the power button for 60 seconds (without the battery)
and then insert the battery and try to enter the flashmode and report you might get it if it is not hardbrick.
prepare the stock rom in flashtool before you try to enter the flashmode in your phone....:good:

Just in case. Try pressing power + volumeup until it vibrate, 10-20 sec...
It not do nothing.... the problem i think its the battery is not charged and phone not charge it. So, any things i can do need battery...
Anyway thanks guys, i can do 2 things: or give it to assistance or buy a new phone
Ok guys, i found the problem: hold down the power+ vol buttons should fix the problem , but i have battery at 0%. The only thing that i non unterstand is that when a phone have 0% battery for real it have 5% that is saved for emergency and fox not damage battery. Why it not turn on?
Ok, i tried to disassembly, but i think i break something... i will buy a new phone... but i am really bad... Guys anyway i will develop for this device....
One thing i unterstand: NOT BUY SONY SMARTPHONE
Solved!!! Removed battery and reinsterted now its charging!
