cm10 is still in experimental stage , so if something ist running consider yourself unlucky.
there are no roms with support to move apps to sd, you will never see it in future too. there are few apps like directory bind to move your app.
and to the third best rom purely depends on your taste and choice, what if some one suggests you a rom and it turns out to be bad to your taste?
the best idea is to goto rom threads view the 1st post for screenshot and read few pages for feedback it will help you find the best rom and also you will have personal satisfaction of finding it yourself

CWM Problems

Hi all!
I'm sorry if this question been asked before! which i see it has ! But I'm confussed to what to do! As there are several different answers to the same question ???????
So this is my problem!
I have a Galaxy s2 i9000 which i updated the ROM to Resurrection Remix ICS v1.0 by westcrip. a few months back!
All went ok. Rooted phone using odin and “CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5.tar” from galaxy s2 root.com.
got it all working and all great till It came to other day! I wanted to udate to Resurrection remix 2.6 or v3.0 ??
But when it came to CWM - it kept coming up with
This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-Root v5.0 or newer. It appears you are running a different kernel. Various features have been disabled.
including the backup and recovery! I've tried ROM manager too. that says that I have CWM 2.5.1.2 and also CWM touch not available for this device. my phone is rooted. I have Su0.93,busybox v1.17.1
BUT NO JOY !! I tried to backup on there too and just takes me to CWM with no backup on the menu..
I always like to do a backup in case of problems! But cant in this case!
I read that flashing kernel could work! But as I'n not 100% which one to use! I'd be happy of any advise! I really would like to update now! As Res V2.6/v3 look great! so does the Salman ICS ROM..
I was thinking of flashing Siyah Kernel v.3.3.2 for Galaxy S2 i9100! [ICS] - but read somewhere this has problems with Res v2.6..
Can some1 please just tell me in simple terms, What is the best way to go about doing this! and if have to use new kernel which one and where?? I really would be most grateful of the help !!
Many Many thanks in advance .. A person who don't want to mess his much loved s2 up !!!!

[Q] Need information about installing the new ROM on Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this Forum so please pardon if i'm not following any rules and mistakenly posted the thread in the wrong location.
I had installed Clockworkmod Recovery from "theandroidsoul"
Then I have Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100. Recently i have installed a custom ROM on it provided by JellyBam ROM 20121023 – i9100 (courtesy: igio90.)
It has upgraded my phone to:
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100DDLP8
Kernel Version:[email protected]
AOKP Version: JellyBam.AOKP.Build5
Build number: JellyBam AOKP 20121023
I have found it to be unstable as there were many functionality that have been lost including FM, 5.1 surround sound, MTP and mass storage connection, etc.
I would like to remove the ROM completely and install another of ROM
Please suggest me the following:
1. can i go back to ICS 4.0.1 by removing this rom and instaliling ICS from odin? what would be a recommended procedure for it?
2. Will i BRIK my phone in this process?
3. Can i install any other version of Jelly bean custom rom using ODIN, what would be a recommended procedure for it?
Guys i need your help ASAP as i cannot stay with this unstable ROM for long. any help is hugely appreciated.

from what i can see you need a stable custom ROM with nice Features, i recommend you Cyanogen Mod 10 Jelly Bean... i Have it on my XPERIA ARC S and it works perfectly with no detected bugs, only one thing that i dont care about is that no more HDMI setting... the prcedure is quit easy and if you got stuck you can go back and ask for help, i dont think you can brick your phone if you follow steps and make a minor mistake.. if you would like to try, i can help you in everything, and please hit "THANKS" if i helped

Team SpeedCore roms
As a droid razr rom developer of course im going to go with the roms i created
DualCore is the more stable rom, being ICS. Battery life is insanely awesome, I added in extra modules and build tweaks. Also has 4.2 apps, including camera and keyboard. If you flash this one, make sure to flash the provided gapps, under the gapps directory called gappsfordc2.3.
Then there's JellyCore series roms. These are jellybean roms, (CM10, AOKP, AOSP and CNA) not as stable, but still work good. Bluetooth phone calls dont work and auto rotate is buggy, but that's about it. Also has modules and tweaks. Use regular latest jb gapps. I have that in my gapps directory too.
All my roms are available here:

Details about roms are here:

CM10.1
I think CM10.1 is a pretty good one. Their are some bugs, like no auto camera flash and gps , but its good for daily use. Also u schould have a look at the PAC ROM.
Max
I also like CM10.1 and currently have it installed for test on 2nd slot since some days. So far I think that is already can be used as daily driver. Bugs I noticed.
1) no query on SIM pin
2) no camera flash
3) reboots when USB is connected to PC
4) configuration of notification LED colours does not work properly
The ROM uses as default storage the external SD card instead the internal one. I like this feature.
Another ROM I use since some weeks and which is very stable, well performing and battery life is great, is customer ROM that is based on JB stock ROM 4.1.2. It uses inverted GApps which looks great for me.

I keep getting sluggish/slow and unstable experiences from KitKat and Lollipop roms

I've tried some kitkat and lollipop roms but a few days after installing the roms my phone starts getting annoyingly slow and sometimes apps will just close in the background. Does this mean my phone's RAM and CPU can't handle the version of Android I put on there?
I honestly don't have time to try out every rom available for the S3 to find out which one is fastest on this device. I just want a fast light-weight rom on my phone which won't get sluggish. It seems the latest official Samsung rom is Jellybean so would you guys recommend I use that? Will any of the third party JellyBean roms perform similarly? Will anything above JellyBean be sluggish?

Currently running latest Archidroid (clean install) and it got slow after about 2 days and apps often close for no reason.
Before this I had CyanogenMod 11 (clean install) and it got slow after about month.
Before that I had whatever stock rom the phone came with. I think it was IceCreamSandwich and I don't recall it being slow.
I may have tried some other roms in between (can't remember). I had the same problem with my previous phone when I flashed a newer version of android the performance suffered a lot. So to me it seems like I need to settle for a version of android that my phone can handle resource-wise.

I have also tried Cyanogenmod and it did run well in my S3. You can also give a try on Blisspop ROM, Omega omni and Omega(Stock based) ROMs. I recommend you to try Bliss pop latest stable version.
Make sure you wipe System and Data via recovery before flashing new ROMs.
If you had installed Games of huge memory, their obb files would still be there in the internal memory after flashing a ROM. So try cleaning off the unwanted obb files.
Try flashing minimal gapps which takes less memory.

I'm not sure why my phone gets so slow then. Maybe it's one of my apps that causes it. I guess I can try BlissPop and then only install my apps as I need them. It looks like the latest stable version is 5.1.1 yet I can only see v4.0.1 on their website.

Yes. Blisspop 4.0.1 is the latest stable version which is Android 5.1.1. Install minimal Gapps. Use Greenify app to hibernate less used apps.

n00b needs errorfree-, stable-, fast-, bloat-free-, dark-, rom for Galaxy S3 i9300

N00b recently obtained a S3, rooted it with Kingo root & need some advice. on how to proceed next...
First of all i would like to point out that i have read several threads here in Q&A and in DEV and i must say the amount of ROMS and possibilities are quite overwhelming. That's why i am posting this Q...
Second: i don't want to switch ROM's all the time, i just want to install one good working, stable & fast ROM without the hassle of adding extra's, removing bloatware, try different kernels/bugfixes etc... It just needs to work.
Also i like to have: a dark layout for the Phone (saves energy and looks much better to me)
As little bloatware as possible , i just want it to be working fast & stable/flawless (i will install the stuff i really need myself via google playstore if possible)
Some Questions
- On my HTC Sensation XE i have 4EXT (with Viper 521 ROM), would this recovery work for the S3 or should i use someting else and why ?
- Which superuser/SU/else should work best with the S3 ?
- Should i use a 5.1.1 or 4.4.4-based ROM ? I have seen various threads and video-comparisons but none of them could convince me (besides the fact that lollipop is too bright & child-looking for my taste)
- Is there a stable & fully operational version of stock Android 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 for the S3 ? And if not which ROM comes closest ?
I would gratfeully receive any advice which ROM i should pick based on your personal experience(s)
Thnx in advance !
Slimkat 4.4.4 is recommended. Light, fast, no bloat and it has the dark mode you are looking for
Lollipop is no good for the s3 but if you are feeling adventourous you can try out either slimLP or dokdo project.
@cokesucker:
thnx for reply, i guess i'm gonna have to try...
Recovery ? Anyone else ? (read TS plz)
I'm currently using carbon rom kk last nightly from 11/2014 and ArchiKernel 2.1 old aosp. This is my daily driver. For recovery us TWRP always

Btw:
Why you think Lollipop is no good for the S3 ?
I was reading & watching (YouTube) some reviews about Archidroid & CM12 & they seem to be quite popular.
Any thoughts ?
