Everytime I install a MIUI rom on my phone, within 3-4 days everything begins force closing. It starts with something along the lines of "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly", and then moves onto every other app that i open. This has happened with the most recent MIUI ver. (2.8.10), as well as the older ones. If anybody knows how to fix this please speak up, because MIUI is by far my favorite rom up until the crashes begin. :crying:

Hello all. I'm starting this thread to find out what made the phone process constantly FC in cyanogenmod7. Hope other users can contribute to this testing.
For me I suspect it's probably related to app data. Installing too many apps and moving it to sd may have led to the FC.
The second time I tried, moving dalvik to sd caused it.
Third flash, everything was stable until recent lags in browsers. It can be so laggy it affects locking screen. Feedback comes 10 seconds late. Held power button to force reboot, poof! Another phone process force close.
What led to that in cyanogenmod for you guys?

Weird. Do you think it's the swap partition?
you know what i did? i wiped the battery stats in CWM then when i turned the Ace on, phone app goes FC! good thing Lovetz provided that fix though; haven't encountered that since FC then.

That guy saved my ass as well, installed the middleclock mod which brought the FC error.
But I have experienced FCs from time to time, even after using that fix.

I don't experience any problem with the centre clock mod .
Forever living in my Galaxy Ace using XDA App
Happened to me after rebooting after I restored some apps from titanium backup(did not occur immediately after restoring...occurred after rebooting). That was before Lovetz's fix. So I had to factory reset. But that did not occur after that ever again(after restoring over 100 apps including those apps).
Seems like a random bug that pops out when it wants to.
I dont use apps to sd and dont keep alot of apps on the phone. I do use center clock mod and a theme. I've only had it once. I think its related to the kernel, it far from complete but im confident that given time the guys will fix it. Also i heard coolya is back on the project, if thats true its based in his work so he will probably find a fix. I think patents is the key here. There is a fix for now, its something we must live with for an otherwise incredible rom.

Yeah it's incredible except for some stability problems that makes it not so trustworthy. Just to substantiate, I notice extreme lags right before the next boot which will have the fc of the phone process.
Today I started getting force close errors when I try and open people via the shortcut on my home screen or through the app list. I am running BAMF cubed for a week now with no issues so I don't think that is the problem. I tried restoring to a previous backup, wiped my dalvik cache and normal cache, did a wipe and flashed back to a clean install of BAMF Cubed and my "people" still force close every time I open it. Only thing I have left that I know of is a factory reset and unrooting to see if that fixes it but really don't want to. Process com.android.htccontacts force close is the error I am getting. Anybody have anything else I could try?
I had this trouble as well after I installed Google+ 2.0 and Music 4.0 from ICS. After I removed both, everything started working again.

That did the trick! Thanks a ton!
must be google +, no problems with google music from ICS on my bolt.
From reading a few different forums, I can confirm this... The leaked google+ app is causing that issue on all roms.

Hey guys, has there been some kind of stealth OTA or something today?
I was using it and suddenly a program started force closing, so I reset the phone. Then, practically everything started force closing. From google maps to facebook to acore and everything.
Also, I somehow got an ad in my notification bar! >:O
I've been running a recent build of infectedROM. Anyone else experience crashes and ads suddenly?
I'm now trying to damage control by backing up all my stuff if it'll work at all I'm having a hard time making sure all my SMS messages are backed up since everything keeps force closing
I would try reflashing the ROM without wiping data. Wipe cache and system, but not data, then see if you can back up everything. Then go back and wipe everything, and start over from scratch.

Sounds like an app you downloaded. I had those ads before and someone recommended 'airpush detector' from the market and I had 3 apps that pushed ads to my notification bar. They were uninstalled immediately.
We're comin from a pure power source.
You try fixing permissions? For the force close issue anyway...
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Sounds like a 3rd party app is causing you issues.... What rom build were you on? 3.0 latest is R80 other is 3.5 builds
Have you been using synergy?
I had this same isuue on my last 3d, I had to finally reinstall the RUU, i believe to fix it
Sounds like you've been.....infected!! Lol sorry had to. Boot into recovery and wipe dalvik.
so far my experience with this phone is,
it never hangs. Hang as in it totally freeze, not responding to every thing,
and have to remove battery, or long press power button.
but apps force close happen every now and then.
in gingerbread, if app force close, a pop up appear and i can choose to report or close it. anyway, the point is, i can dismiss it instantly.
after upgrade to ICS, if an app force close,
the phone totally freeze and stop responding for about 10-15 seconds,
i have to wait and stare in despair as my phone stop responding during this duration. finally a pop up appear saying that app has stop responding,
then only i can dismiss that pop up.
this 10-15 seconds freeze happens every single time apps FC.
within 2 days, happens 5 times. once is brower, 3 times is hancent sms, one more time is apex launcher.
generally things are snappier and animations are smoother in ics,
but all these longs temporary freezes during force close are annoying.
i'm using XWLPF firmware download from intratech thread.
is this a common issue in ICS that i have to live with?
or there is a fix for this?

Not a general issue on ICS as far as I know.
Have you already wiped cache partition (and Dalvik cache) in recovery mode?
Maybe you have to do factory reset.

I did wipe dalvic cache.
Oh well, I just wipe cache and dalvic again. Let see how it goes.
You mean I'm the only one facing this?
Have you encounter any force close in ics?
It instantly pops up a force close notification?
Mine freezes awhile only got pop up appear,
That's an ICS feature I assume. Because the other day I saw this video of SGS2 GB vs ICS and this issue appeared there. Although GB starightaway asked, either to close or report.
Did you wipe when you flashed ics. And wipe means wipe code using dialer.
Cache wipe is not a wipe.
ICS freeze when apps FC

Ray,
You are definitely not the only one facing this issue.
Ever since I upgraded my Galaxy Note to stock ICS 4.0.3 I had the exact same issue.
Have you had any luck with a factory wipe.
I was about to do the same, but was wondering whether it made any sense.
Thanks

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the feedback.
I did a full reset some time ago (I mean wiping all internal memory and interal SDcard through use of dialer code).
No help there.
Unfortunately, I am stuck on stock ICS ROM because of stupid Good Entrerprises app I need to have on my phone because of work. This app does not play nice with rooted devices.
May decide to root my note anyway. Flash a custom ROM and then permanently unroot it.... Not looking forward to the hassle though.
My DS5 got Random FC's
when I go to recovery it said cann't mount bla bla bla ... (invalid ...)
Search for Solution
some said it was lack of memmory in \data
another said it was broken int SD Card
MIUI 2.4.20
+ Pure performance
+ A2SD++ (after first force close happen)
for a day or two, my streak can run even with some FC's
and now, stuck after logo (stuck on inverse dell logo before MIUI screen)
any body have any solution ?
Can't help with the random force closes, but the can't load error resolves itself when the Streak is shut off.
One thing that will help is to not have a lot of widgets running, as they suck up RAM, and lack of RAM could be the source of the random force closes.

Every time it force close, the only thing I did is shut down. but it still FC after running normal about for an hour.
and force close came after my streak idle for a while.
as far as I know I only used 3 widgets. Google Search, Clock and Battery monitor
Then, I uninstalled battery widget. It still happen.
try another rom
that might solve the problem
i personally prefer traveller dsc

I've never tried MIUI, mostly because the screen is locked in portrait. But, if all else fails, go to a different ROM. But also keep in mind that in going from one ROM to another you often have to do both the Dell factory reset and the Streakmod factory reset before the device will function properly. When you installed MIUI, did you do this?

As I recall I only did Dell factory reset, may be that the problem, but somehow it run fine for 3 or 4 months
If you only did one and not the other, that is likely the source of your problems. Even though it appeared to work fine, in time something will mess up and you'll be where you currently are: having to do both factory resets and restoring everything.
