Hello All,
I have recently purchased "Xperia S" mobile and upgraded to ICS version. I always see that my RAM usage is high because of
# Android Core App
# Xperia Home
I want to understand whats the use of "Android Core App" and what kind of apps its running in the backend, will it harm my OS if its stopped?
For "Xperia Home" also, i don't understand why the process is very huge, FYI : I have shortcuts placed in my Homescreen and also folders, will that use RAM?

Normally when that process uses lot of RAM, i use to kill it.. same for Xperia Home Process..
If you could explain me about that process or where i can know more details about those processes?

Never stop any core process.. And try using any other launcher from market.. And disable Xperia home!!

Xperia home uses less ram compared to other launcher. Only a few launcher is able to use lesser ram than xperia home. Go launcher can use 2times more ram

It is what runs the system itself. Kill it and the phone will crash.

Hi all? i've run around the internet and found out this game is available on android. One of the blog i've see said that he has tested on x8 and it run well...any of u guys tested it? It sure awesome if this game is playable....
There is a version by artoseven for the x8 and the other phone his trying it on. I tried it and it starts but doesnt get past the loading screens.

Yes its work i have it on my x8 Stock 2.1.1 ROM and it works smooth but then aliens attack game lag.

stock rom? i thought the requirement was 2.3 (gingerbread). was using gingerdx..running..got some planet animation thingy..then poof!! homescreen...

Just install it. Then select install drivers. It will install and reboot. Then open the app and select the options you want under default OpenGL settings, press home and run your game.
If anyone gets this to work on a custom rom plz let me knw.

first i try this game on froyobread v23b,,,its works great,,,but on a halfway of the game it's keep force close,,,and then i try arc-x8 rom by Artoseven (this is a great Rom 4 gaming),,,with oc to 748mHz,,,using chainfire 3d,,,set the texture to 16 bit,,,and the result WOW,,,no lag at all,,,very smooth,,,and no fc,,,:b
note: oc to 748mhZ with you own risk,,,the problems with oc,,,phone sometimes restart itself,,,tq :b

It works in my Froyobread. I follow his(the blogger) suggestion. and it worked well
I'm afraid to don't understand what do you mean, anyway, if you know warez over X8 themes &apps forum, the best thing you should do is to click the report button.

note taken..sorry if this thread violates any rules of xda coz i thought that i'm not asking for warez or any link to warez..only asking if the game i mentioned works on x8..i dont mind buying it if the games works good...
I have it n it works great, using GingerDx, to make it work just reboot before playing
Btw I guess it's not illegal to play a hacked version of the game cuz it doesn't work on our device unless it was modified (HD game, our phone is hvga blablah)
So anyways if any1 wants the game just ****

I just saw the demo video from ces. There's one thing, that I can't find out how to activate. When the girl is showing the features of the lockscreen, she swipes left and there's 3 apps. How can I get that?

I got it on my DOCOMO Xperia nx japanese version....I can launch whatever an application is while the mobile is locked

But when I flashed the worlwide version 6.0.A.3.67 I lost it and its not there anymore !!!! dont know why

Well goto settings>display>settings for lock screen But I've seen there no apps only notifications...
Or install GoLocker
It just could be great too have that feature, without installing any apps, just like in the video.
and yep that feature is gone,
Maybe in next update or ICS?
I do not know if it will help you in any way, but widget locker is an app which allows you to customize lock screen in any way you may need. It is not free tough...
i have already tried editting the hwconfig.sh file but it doesnt work.. please help.. and when i edit sys/class button backlight folder it stays off only temporarily... its an awesome rom but button backlight sucks the battery out of it
+1 on this (and sorry for bumping the thread). This is super annoying, especially during the night!
Use keyboard backlight controller app from playstore...it keeps the backlight off till you reboot... Then you just have to re disable it... Not permanent but I guess it will do...

Thanks, bro! I tried some other app that promised to sort this out but that didn't work out. I'll take my chances with this one.

the thread title states "permanently"
and that app does work only after you reboot it reverts back to annoying keylights on again. im also frustrated about this light.

It just takes a min to re disable... Is it really that hard or do you restart every five minutes or something...

facebook app is around 30MB but it consumes 14MB and sometimes 40MB. size doesnt matter, take account widgetlocker, UCCW etc. whihc all run in bckground they consume RAM + cache

PIE controls is one of the coolest features of paranoid android 2.99, but only few can switch to pa 2.99.
So this is for those with locked bootloaders or on other roms,

Nice to try for those who are on stock.
Level two pie controls on LMT launcher only work for me if the desktop isn't expanded. On expanded desktop mode, only level one works.

I assume that this LMT is more for people who prefer to stcik to a stock rom or a rom that's doesn't support "PIE control" (for whatever reason )..
Honestly it's not the same, but you can find the core functionnality.
I just hope google guys will hire these people who had this idea and put "Pie control" in the next Android releases.

yup if the first option was enabling it then yup i did it...
This app is called LMT launcher, google about it, you'll find videos and official xda link. Install the app from there, super easy to use.

I have really big problems with my phone it lags i have only 198mb ram free i have return it to stock removed root and it lags really bad :/ Why Samsung didnt put at least 1.5 gb ram i cant even open browser or my camera. Really disappointed from Samsung.

Yeah, so true. Quad Core device with 1GB ram, but i never got lag (Daily Use) XD
Antivirus? I never use antivirus even on my desktop...Only for stupid people is antivirus if you know where to search and what is suspicious you won't catch virus.
Never got lag either. Maybe you should install latest firmware or something.
Mi neither, cero lag and almost 300 free ram, de bloated with only the essential gapps for me (youtube, maps, g+, keep and drive)

Use web browser in PC if you want change it, then go to the Settings(User Control Panel)>Edit Avatar
