Hi there,
I finally found the Custom AOSP ROM that is good for gaming and that is F1 Galaxy Nexus ROM for Galaxy S2.
Everything is working fine.
Just I'm missing the Samsung stock Filemanager :My Files
So my question is- Does anyone who has MyFiles working on AOSP ROM ??? I searched in Google and XDA but nothing seems to get it working.
I know it requires Sammy Framework but stock Task Manager and Memo seems working on AOSP ROMS.
If anyone has it. Please provide it to me.

Why would you want to go to the hassle of making a frankly poor file manager work on AOSP?

And,lib dependancies..The camera.apk is polished with TouchWiz (i forgot, coz its nearly been half an year since i have used stick based roms) So,if you need to get it to work, you need to edit framework, and see about the libs files..

There are atleast 3 libs for stock camera

And the most important thing-- PROPRIETARY SAMSUNG vs open source CM7
It is not possible to reverse engineer such things as camera and radio.
Just saw this article on pulse, the gs3 got this new mod and it changes the quality of the camera. When can we expect that on our note?

APK alone won't be enough. There are some needed libs in order for this to work.
Guess we'll just have to wait till someone ports it to our Note.

We will probably get something similar or just a port.
I have this option on Saurom 7.1.... Not sure if it's the same but....

Id like to test it out but Im out all day. Someone test if they can and report back or I could see if i can port it over. May take some time but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Instructions are simple:
"replace original SamsungCamera.apk in system\app\ with this one using e.g. “Root explorer” or something… You need a rooted Device!"
Since it's just an apk, there shouldn't any harm in just testing it out -- just be sure to make a nandroid backup and be prepared to use adb to push the original SamsungCamera.apk back to /system/app if it causes any sort of bootloop/fails.
My suspicion is that it does rely on some of the S3's unique framework or lib files, and the camera hardware itself is also different, so it probably won't "just work"... but ya never know! lol
I also posted on HyperX's site to see if he has any interest in getting it ported to our i717...

Have a link to that CWM zip? It may contain additional system files that support the apk, so I'd like to take a quick look at it.
if this works, it would be sweet!
I just tried to install the apk...doesn't want to install!. I changed permissions and put into system/app then rebooted...it was worth a try but nope...

Its a mod that increases the resolution of the camera. It makes taking videos a bit more smoother and it increases the fps of 1080 and 720 video. They say that 60 fps is soon to come.

Hey,
I just got back to Sammy after using CM10.1 for a while. CM is a great rom and has a lot of benefits but have some serious bugs and the battery life isn't so good.
Now I'm using Sammy but really miss the AOSP experience...
Is it possible to get the apps from 4.2 to Sammy?
I found the camera/gallery and the launcher which I just put in the system folder and used it normally.
I'm looking for Phone, Contacts and SMS apps.
If someone can help me find/install this on my rom I will be grateful!
Thanks in advance
i know i have those files and they work flawlessly on my foxhound rising 1.9 rom for s3, anyway i will have a look when i get back home and post them up for you mate

Contacts and dialer directly from CM won't work. They're too embedded in the framework.
good working AOSP SMS (dark-blue), Be carefull and make backup: the cwm will delete all your SMS's!!!

I've been all over the internet trying to get help with this...so I'll ask here since its the same requet just two different phones. I need AOSP or CM10.1 MMS working on e4gt TW ROM. Can anyone help...please don't flame me.
Hi Guys
I've just installed a new super lite ROM which seems pretty much perfect EXCEPT i'm missing two features of Samsung's "bloat"ware that I really like:
Blocking Mode
Stay Awake
I've tried Googling and failed miserably to locate these so, can anyone tell me where i can get these please? (Yes I know there are alternatives but i'd like to stay with apps I am happy with and that work for me)

Of they are only apks & libs you could extract them from a stock Rom and put them into yours I guess.

What is the ROM based on?
Is it Sammy or an AOKP based ROM?
If it's Samsung Based, I could take a Titanium Backup of it and send it across to you.

If it is not Samsung based but aokp it won't work as it needs Samsung framework.

Damn.... why is it the "perfect" ROM never exists. I've been flashing since windows 6.0 and NEVER found a ROM that's 100%
Guess I'll have to look for market place alternatives then.
Thanks for your help!

There is no single perfect rom for everyone.. Everyone is different and has different needs or "cravings"
Thats also why there's so many custom roms out there, to fit your needs (sometimes) If you cant find one, go with stock or learn to make your own.
I did not see this feature available by itself, but I did some digging and found and tested a version that works on the Note 2 (See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048668
For reference it works on my deodex rom (see pic), not sure about odex (or if any Xposed mod works on odex for that matter).
Happy modding!

Please excuse my ignorance... I just rooted my phone and haven't changed anything (no ROM, just stock the way it came out of the box)... I take it that's odex? Should work?
Thanks!!
edit: I tried it anyway and it worked... a little slow but working Now I can use my phone and calendar at the same time... makes it a BAZILLION times easier to dial-in to conferences!!

Yes, you are Odex. According to above it will work for you. Just install the .apk. I wouldn't use the 240 version.

Works perfect on S4 to get around the bug where it drags a different icon just load all the apps you want to have multi window then reboot and they will be in alphabetical ordered and its easier to drag them in place and keep the icons you want.
