Flashed neutrino 2.9 this morning and it is AWESOME! It was my first time ever flashing anything onto my phone, and everything worked out great! There are only 2 things I am wondering about...
First off, am I able to get swype set as my input method? I realize it's a pretty stripped down rom and swype has most likely been removed to cut down on size or increase efficiency etc. I've tried installing the swype beta, and managed to get the installer installed (yeah it's kind of an odd system, you download and install the installer to install swype) but for whatever reason when I type in the user/pass to get the actual swype installed, it just sits there forever and doesn't do anything. I've also just tried restoring swype with titanium backup from the backup I did on my stock rom, but it just starts a force-close loop until I set the input method back to the regular keyboard.
Secondly, and this is extremely minor, when I set up the fingerprint unlock there doesn't seem to be any backup unlock system for it. In the stock rom as we all know there is a pin that you can set to unlock as an alternative to swiping your finger on the reader. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it would be a bit of a pain in the ass if I was to drop my phone and a rock smashed the fingerprint sensor, or my index fingers got chopped off in some freak accident haha.
All input greatly appreciated! Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, didn't seem quite appropriate to be posting over in the development section for something like this though.
*EDIT*
Swype problem solved. Looks like there was something wrong with the swype beta installer. After force closing it and opening it again it worked just fine, and swype is now installed and working (so far) perfectly!
So... Sort of a bump, but I ran into a new problem today.
For some reason when charging my phone, it only charges to 92%. I had it plugged in for about 12-13 hours, and it just seemed to stop charging. I pulled the battery, rebooted the phone, plugged it back in, etc. Didn't seem to do anything.
Anybody run into this one and know of a solution?
Tried this already?
Worked like a charm! Thanks.
was the fingerprint pin bypass every addressed?
i just started using 2.91gt+ and i won't enable the fingerprint lock with out a bypass pin...
i'm a marine engineer so my hands are constantly in and out of oil, fuel and fast orange so i've had days where on the stock rom it wouldn't even recognize i swiped my finger over it at all

Re: Droid Eris Issue/s!
I'm not too sure what this means of how I can figure out what or how to get a log file.
My phone has been doing a random slide all the way to the left. no matter what Rom I'm running. After a few hours my Eris, running 1.5 from jcase, and edited by k.
- Screen moves left
- fixs when I restart
- happened again after a few how's of phone on standby or playing.
- Also OS slow down.
- this has been on going for 3 days.
- wiped, everything.
-Flashed using same Rom, and 3 others. (Followed flash Rom steps.)
- Still same problem.
if anyone can it knows of any info or hoe I can make this more clear, I thank you.
sounds like a problem with the phone itself such as maybe a trackball issue. go to verizon and see what they say.
i discovered to 2 issues since i upgraded the newer 2.1. (i haven't flashed a custom rom)
one browser randomly closes while using it. my wife went to macy's website and it closed. no force close or anything.
two - google maps works, but if i i upgrade. every time i open the app a few seconds later it gives me a force close dialog box....

Just to let you know my wife was having similar problems with screen going left. I have seen some people just have it while on a charger but we had another problem the phone would randomly die at various charge levels and sometimes not boot back up without plugging the charger in. We were able to get a warranty replacement on the battery and the issue with screen scroll to the left has ceased.
thank you everyone for the feedback. I'm going to see what happened with everything. I might just turn this into a project phone. I will try to clean the trackball, and use my other battery. I greatly appreciate the replies.
Hey guys,
I've been having some keyboard issues for a while now and it's really starting to bug me. I'm currently on BAMF 2.1, but I've used various iterations of BAMF and I was even experiencing the same problem on CM7. Whenever I install a new ROM I do a complete wipe 3x and lately I haven't even been restoring data on my apps.
When typing, certain letters just don't work. It's really odd. I can sit there and tap tap tap away, and it may take like 6 taps to get a letter to work. At first I thought it was my screen, but I experience NO issues with the screen anywhere else but typing. The fact that what letters don't work often change (both in landscape AND portrait) also makes me think that it's not the screen.
I'm currently using Smart Keyboard Pro with a DX skin (had a DX before this and loved the keyboard), but I've even switched to the market version of the GB keyboard and experienced the same problem.
Edit: I forgot to mention that it doesn't always happen. I could go half a day with no issues, but then it pops up and it's pretty persistent.
Does anyone have any ideas? It's really starting to become a problem.
I have experienced maybe something similar. Since I flashed gingerbread ( my keyboard sometimes locks up. There's usually a delay of 3 seconds before it picks up. I'm using swift but it has happened on swype and the stock keyboard.
Happens to me, exact same problem but it also happened on my inc so I'm not too worried lol it IS annoying but doesn't last for an extended amount of time

Ugh, this is still happening to me and still being a pain in my ass
Hello all.
I did do some searching before this post, but I was unable to find anything on it. So if the answer is already online some where, I apologize.
My Samsung Vibrant recently stopped auto rotating. I checked to see if my son had accidentally unchecked the option, and it was okay. I've tried unchecking, rechecking, battery pulls, clearing cache, and nothing worked.
I then backed up all my stuff, then did a factory reset. After rebooting, it worked. I restored from the backup and it was broken again.
I then went into the settings and looked at the horizontal calibration. When the screen with the little blue ball loads, the ball doesn't move as I tilt the device. So again, I did a factory reset and went back to the settings. This time the ball moved.
I'm not an android developer but I have some programming knowledge. From what I've seen, I conclude that the accelerometer is not broken, and that for some reason, something in the software is now preventing the accelerometer from being registered
My ROM is Trigger3.2-final, Froyo 2.2, KB5, voodoo lagfix, and I've been using this for a long time. So that makes me think that it was part of an app update that I've done recently. The bad part about that is I was slacking on my updates and the last time I updated, I updated 23 apps.
So, before I go through the process of uninstalling apps one by one to see if one of them is causing the conflict, I'd like to find out if anyone else is seeing this issue, and if there is any solution.
Let me know if you have any questions our need more info about the phone.
Thanks!
Reg.

I have the same problem. Running Bionix v1.3.1. Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
believe this or not I had the same problem. Once flashing any rom from stock I would get stuck in landscape mode. The problem ended up being a dirty usb port. It was "shorting" pins and thought it was plugged into a dock. Cleaned the usb port and it worked fine again.
A while ago I flashed Wolfbreak's 2.3.3 rom on my X10 and all seemed to work absolutely great. That is until I let the power on my phone run out. When I plugged it in and booted it up all the widgets and shortcuts on my homescreen (LauncherPro) were gone and replaced with 3 default ones. It has happened twice so far and suffice to say that it's a tad annoying. This doesn't seem to happen when I reboot the phone or if I turn it off myself.
Was just wondering if anyone ever experienced something like this and what you did to fix it? The apps in question aren't being saved to the SD card as far as I can tell, so that can't be it. Hope someone is able to help me out
I have been on Beans 22 (as well as previous revisions) for quite some time without issue with disabling the home button using the standard gpio-keys.kl edit; completely removing "HOME" & "WAKE" as well as removing "HOME" and changing "WAKE" to "WAKE_DROPPED". I tried this first on Sophisticated v1.5 and found that with this file edited, my wifi would not start. v2.0 came out today so I figured I would do a clean install and try it again. With nothing else on the phone, my wifi works great until I edit this file. Once the file is edited and the phone rebooted, the wifi fails to start. It will show the icon as dimmed and just stick there. If trying to do it through settings, you can move it to 'ON' and it will go right back to 'OFF'.
Could someone else that is using this ROM confirm this or possibly shed some light on what might be going on?
I have been rooting and ROM'ing my phones since my old DroidX and have never had a reason to post before because I have always found help through searching. I have yet to find this specific problem though and do realize that it would be more appropriate to post in the developer thread, but since this is my first post on this forums, I cannot.
Thanks in advance!
Well... I did another fresh install, wiping everything except the external card before installing and wiping cache/davlik a few times after. This time, removing "HOME" & "WAKE" causes the same symptoms, but removing just "HOME" and changing "WAKE" to "WAKE_DROPPED" allows for normal operation. I am still not sure why this change would have anything to do with the WiFi, but it seems to be working properly now.
Updated to SR_KK_v1...
Having been on several different 4.3 based roms for quite a while, the information posted in the post immediately proceeding this worked great.
Last night I created a full backup and flashed SR KitKat v1. I have tried all of the combinations listed above and in other threads on the subject with zero impact on the operation of the home button. The changes had no affect on anything else for that matter (previously I had experienced wifi problems after modification).
I really need the home button disabled as I carry the phone in my pocket and with the home button able to wake the phone, it will do all sorts of weird things in my pocket.
This thread has been just me talking to myself so far, but I would greatly appreciate any help that the kind members of this forum can lend!
I work outside in the heat/humidity/dirt/mud and the safest location for my phone is in my pocket. Without the home wake disabled, the phone will unlock and things will happen. It has been a problem in the past for me. If it isn't for you, good, I'm glad, but stating so does not change my current situation.
