Google Nexus ROM For Galaxy SII - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I really love the sleek look of the galaxy nexus interface. I was wondering is there a specific ROM i could load on my galaxy SII to make it have the same build as it? Or maybe a new jelly bean build.
Any help or comments would be appreciated.

I'm using SuperNexus on my S2 I9100 and it works smoothly. It has few issues with mounting the external sdcard but I haven't found any more yet.

You would really want to try the ReVolt JB Rom. Its Super Fast, Smooth and currently the most stable JB Roms out there.
It has got vanilla jellybean look and feel and has all the goodness of AOKP.

Try Resurrection remix 2.6.1. Based on ICS and stable as a rock. I'm pretty new myself and been using it for a while.Easy to install and no issues whatsoever. :good:
First of all, are you sure you have an i9100 and not an i9100G, a skyrocket (AT&T or Rogers), a Galaxy S2 LTE HD, etc?
If you do have an i9100, this is the forum for you. If not, try and find your right forum...
I'd look in the SGS2 android dev forums and not the Original Android Dev forums. Alot of cooks have ROMs with SGS3-like themes... And there's possibly a touchwiz5 mod in the themes section. I know the ripple lockscreen was ported too...
To be honest, alot of ROMs exist but it's a question of taste... I know Resurrection remix is a popular one. Alot of people switched to Cyanogenmod when ICS hit though, as ICS wasn't up to par for Samsung's implementation...
Your best bet is to flash a custom kernel with CWM recovery in Odin (Alot of guides to do this) like CF-Root and then grab ROMs and flash them through CWM. If you want a kernel that's able to dual boot, you can use DreamKernel, Siyah, etc. That way you can get one ROM going and test a second ROM as a secondary. Dual booting can be achieved because we have a 500MB partition on our phones that isn't used for anything... Fun, is it not?
And The other rom is pfittech ics rom and is also stable and he is working on stable jb rom as among other devs

I'd go with rootbox. Just because the dev updates more frequently does not mean it's a better rom. The ones who don't update frequently just mean they don't have bugs to fix...

[Q] Desperately looking for a Jelly Bean ROM like Litening Rom

Hi,
I've had litening roms on my S2 for quite some time.
I want to upgrade to Jelly Bean but can't find one, I like.
I especially like the features the litening rom has for the pull down menu.
Is there a nice and fast rom that will have the switches, the litening rom has, or can I somehow change just the pulldown menu?
Thanks a lot, guys.
I haven't tried litening but as for Jelly bean ROMs I have tried Resurrection Remix, RevoltJB and currently on JellyBam.
All three are great you can probably look at them and see what is the closest to litening.

ParanoidAndroid is the best jb ROM in my opinion but it's all up to you.
Some help for choosing ROM base:
CM10 ROMS : AOSP almost but with some tweaks for better customisation
AOKP : AOSP but with a lot of changes for customization and tweaks
I think CM10 Roms are better since AOKPs tweaks are useless for me, and ParanoidAndroid let's me set how big the apps are and if they should display as if they're on a tablet or a phone, you can also make the phone a tablet but still use phone apps and so on.
It will be kind of hard to find one like lighting rom since it's stock based and Samsung hasn't released the jb for SGS2 yet.

I would have to say that Rootbox is the best rom right now. Really really smooth, no fcs and loads of features. Even has pa settings now.

Been using Jelly King for a month or more now and I love it!
Went back to Dual boot with ICS and even tried Jelly Bam again, but Jelly King just seems to work.
Smooth fast and now on DorimanxV7.4 - battery is amazing.
It's worth trying!
Donmt know about litening rom but for Jelly Bean, I can say in my experience RootBox is clearly amazing. Very very smooth. No fc, no reboots, no bugs. everything is working it is very stable. Go ahead try it for yourself.
I'm using SlimBean 2.8.0 (Android 4.1.2) with Dorimanx Kernel 7.0 (new Mali drivers):
* kernel Dorimanx: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
* slimbean 2.8.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846227
* slimroms.net
For my daily usage they works fine. Moreover, with Dorimanx kernel, the battery consumption is very acceptable

[Q] Couple of questions about changing kernels and flashing a new rom - Samsung GS3

Hi guys,
I was wondering if someone could help me with my quest for information?
I own a (Unbranded/Unlocked) Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 International
I'm running Android 4.1.1 at the moment.
Buildnr: JRO03C.I9300XXDLIH
Baseband: I9300CEDLI1
The problem is i have been using my GS3 for a couple of weeks now, and i can't stop noticing how laggy the device itself is.
I don't have alot of apps installed and the memory i used is 1.5GB. I managed to root it 3 days ago. I used the S3 TOOLKIT V6.0 (Found @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488).
Back in the days i owned a HTC Desire with CyanogenMod running on it. And i never had lag problems with my HTC. So i would like to try a custom rom for my GS3. I read about alot of custom roms and about kernels to. Alot of people use the Siyah kernel.
So question(s) 1: Can i use the Siyah Kernel for my SG3 or is my current one good enough to stay on it? + How can i accomplish changing the kernel? (Via ODIN?) (I searched the web and found some tuts, but i don't want 2 do it because it is from months ago. Is there a updated tut?)
Question 2: CM10 for SG3 looks nice but is still a nightly build and not a stable build, so which of the massive amount of custom roms is a good replacement for the SG3? (A nice noob proof tutorial would be nice too )
Well thanks in advance for the guys who will help me. I hope you don't think i'm lazy or something. I have searched and searched forever. I have browsed alot of webpages, i even watched youtube vidz . I just don't want to do something wrong and end buying a iPhone again instead. I would like to be more in the android scene, so if u guys would help me in the right direction, i would be very thankfull. :good:
1. Siyah kernel works with any Samsung based or cm10 roms and yes bits amazing. As for flashing it look under the original android development section and the thread is there with a link for a cwm file. Obviously install with cwm.
2. Your not supposed to ask which is the best rom in these forums there is rules against it, but I use omegas rom, it is Sammy based and is smooth as hell. Your best bet is to search through the roms and see what you like.

No it doesn't come with it just download it from the thread and flash it with cwm. And yeah omega comes with touch wiz but if you don't like the looks of it you can always use holo locker and holo launcher HD for the stock android look. that's what I do.

Greetings all, i'm a noob on this forum
I have Galaxy S III International version, and using leaked JB 4.1.2 right now. When using Siyah kernel v 1.8 it's a bit laggy, not snappy!
A lot of members in this forum said that 4.1.2 is snappier than 4.1.1. Is Siyah kernel the problem here? need advice. :fingers-crossed:
I'm using siyah 1.8 and it seems perfectly fine. Don't know why it would be laggy try asking in the siyah forum

Cm9 vs cm10

I am not asking to compare specific Roms(as I know that is a no no) I was just wondering if as a whole does aosp/aokp/cyanogenmod run better with ICS since I know cm10 uses a modified ICS kernel.

Yes....
Far fewer bugs in the AOSP ICS builds, as we have full source for those.
JB is, as you know, a modified JB base build, with ICS parts....g
Thank you I was only asking because I didn't see any aosp ICS Roms in the front they were all buried under JB and Touch wiz Roms
