[Q] Alternative application for recording videos? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, Could anyone advise me on the set of alternative application for recording videos? Until now I used the stock LG Camera, which had a lot of settings and I was very satisfied with her. However, it has little support and does not work on CM9. It is mainly about me adjusting resolution, bitrate and focus (auto, manual, fixed, etc.).
This application is mainly used for filming know since I have the unfortunate mobile module from Fujitsu Siemens and do the problem in recording HD or Full HD video over stock applications about every 3 seconds when focusing hangs video.
Thank you very much for you help!

why not download third party apps from the market buddy?
cheers

[APP] lgcamera <<discussion>>

lgcamera - Android app that can be installed from Market. It offers the possibility to take video recordings with customized options. This app works on Wildfire (tested on nightly CM7) and if messing around with the app settings a bit, it can take videos of a higher quality then the default camera app.
This thread has the aim to inform you about this wonderful app and to encourage you to test and post here your settings/configurations.
Thank you.
Ok downloaded it now installing...Testing later reply tomorrow
EDIT: Ok well first impressions: yay no border .
For recording...what settings its best? it's record but not playing after...
I use Vignette, it works great, it does photos and video all from a full screen with no borders. I love it. Give it a try lads!

lgcamera surely can take better video recordings than default CM7 Camera app. (i specified it has been tested on CM7 nightly)
I'm aware that you were talking about cm7. Maybe the quality is better, but its still bad enough that I won't use it anyway (my fifth gen ipod nano comes handy here )
So I merely said that its of no use to me. (I find vignette far superior, although it lacks video recording)
this app is great for photo shooting but the zoom don't work on my phone

Samsung Stock Camera experience in non-Samsung ROM (e.g. CM)

I'm a big fan of CM and other non-Samsung versions of Android. In the past, there has been no real reason to keep Samsung based ROMs. But with the S3, the stock camera app seems so much better than everything else, this is a problem.
Are there any ways of running the stock camera app in CM at the moment?
OR
Are there any alternative camera apps that can do the kind of continuous speed shooting (20 exposures etc.) that the Samsung stock app can do?

I would recommend using hx camera mod. I can say that it 's the best camera app so far especially when recording a video at 30Mbit - 1080p superfine. Try to look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691145 or http://hx-custom-roms.com/galaxy-s3-camera-mod

Thanks. I think this will only work on stock roms though as it is Samsung framework dependant. What I really want is something that will allow me to leave Samsung roms and move to for example Cyanogen mod, but keep the additional functionality found in the Samsung camera app.

mobile hidden camera problems

Hi all,
I'm a user of mobile hidden camera however I'm experiencing some problems.I'm currently using the latest free market version (3.3.1-9) and would like very much to buy the premium version of the app if not for the issues. I have a Samsung Galaxy SII (GT-I9100) and running an 4.0.4 AOKP based ROM (Resurrection Remix v2.6.1 by Westcrip).
The problems I have are:
-firstly I cannot record on higher quality than 480p, If I try 720p or 1080p and HIGH_QUALITY the app will not start recording at all production a 0MB file. This problem is rather minor as I don't mind the 480p recording and actually that recording has a wider view-angle even in the stock camera application.
-secondly and the most annoying thing is that the videos which can record come out scrambled and I'm unable to view any of them. I've tried playing with recording quality and encoder override (resolution override has only a default option) and I've even tried the various firmware fixes like 1,2 and 3 producing no end result.
Would you it be possible to assist me with some kind of best settings to be applied or which working older version can I sideload.
I would be very grateful

[Q] autoFocus recording

I don't know if it's possible, but I want to record my videos in higher quality. Samsung galaxy ace haven't autoFocus during recording, but if you are taking pictures, it has. So I think that than is basicly possible to have focus on video. So what should I do, what should I have? Does it exist at all?
