What error you get when downloading from gplay?
And about gmail and attachments, it wont let you download file if you don't have program to open that file, or something like that.
But then again, stock rom should have office installed, right?
I know it didn't let me download zip file, even though I have 2 file managers which can open zip.
Looks like last gmail is stupid. I don't recall having that problem on older version

Hi,Thansk for the reply, I am facing this issue only after upgrading my OS to ICS. When I am trying to download/ install anything from Google play it tries to dwnload for hours (even for few kb apps) and after that it gives an error (Error in downloading file). I have tried with 3G same result.
Same case with downloading any attachment from Gmail. I have installer/ office suite etc..

If after update to ICS, you had your old data on your phone, meaning if PCC/SEUS didn't wipe your phone(which is case if you update software, not repair), try clearing cache/data from google play app, settings->apps and find google play store, click on it and pres clear data/cache.

[Q] How come I can't download or upgrade anything from my new JB system???

Hello guys!
I am new to this forum. I own a Samsung galaxy S2 and sorry for my terrible english
I have just reroot my gs2 from the old ICS to the new Jelly bean system 3 days ago (This "X-TremE JB AOKP" is the one I root to my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795200) but after the successful root I found out that I can't download anything from the internet by using any browser on my phone and I can't upgrade my exist software(such as google map) from the google play store, when I click "upgrade" it just stuck on the loading status forever and not download anything but the system works just fine and the internet connection works perfect...I've been looking for solutions for long time, but seem like almost no one has the same issue as I do so please help!:crying:

No. It can't be a factory problem.
Try this:
Clear data of "Google play" and "Google services framework" in settings, then reboot phone.

No. It can't be hardware problem (please don't ask this question again).
1. Are you using a mobile data network or Wi-Fi to connect?
2. Do you get any error message from Google play?

Sorry for not getting use to the forum's system yet...
I tried Clear data of Google play & Google services framework and reboot it still doesn't work
Yes, I use 3G mobile data network and error message does appear after I press "Download" or "update" bottom and wait for about an hour.
It just shows loading bar forever and not downloading anything ,it's not just happen on google play but happens every time when I want to download things from internet or chrome.

then i think Google play is not the problem.
It has something to do with either your mobile internet, or a component of your system apps is missing.
Try these:
A.
1. Download Opera mini apk on your Pc.
2. Run it and try to download anything with it using your mobile internet.
B.
Try to download anything using Wi-Fi connection.
Let me know what happens

I think this may be the cause of the problem,
# You mistakenly disabled "download manager" in application settings
Try this:
- Goto Settings - Apps - All - download manager, enable it ( if disabled)
Reboot phone

i did but doesnt work
delete your google account from settings
go to apps>all>google play>delete data
again apps>all>download manager>delete data
restart phone
login and start google play
PS: what does the message say?
If The above method doesn't Work Try wiping dalvik cache and fixing permissions in cwm recovery. Works for me if I encounter any prob in play store.

Thank you very much,

Install a custom recovery (cwm or twrp), search the forum for the right methods to install recovery to your specific device, then search for latest flashable gapps (Google apps) on the forum, download it. Now boot into recovery that you have installed previously on your device. Select install zip file, choose the gapps file that you downloaded, flash it and then restart device, you should have Google play now. Hope I helped.

try this,
if you have installed Google play,
~ open setting>applications>Google play
~ force stop, clear cache, clear data,
~ reboot
~ open Google play again, then log in again
no need to root to do that
Don't forget to hit THANKS button
I also try this and got the solution for my friend's phone so thanks.

no, you don't have to root, try to download another playstore, then repeat my solution again,
if it still doesn't working, root your phone and flash gapps, or back to the stock rom, find the newest stock rom
