How to check if sandisk class 10 is original? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Just got my class 10 64gb xdhc card
Paid about 80 usd on it
When im testing the card speeds. On my sgs3 im getting 8-10 MB/s read/write transfer rate instead of 30MB/s it suppose to be...
My card is ExFAT formatted hard format by pc and im using the external to internal mod
How i can verify the authentic of this card?
Thanks

im using a samsung class 10 32gb card that was bought for $30 and im getting read/write speeds of about 22mb/s.
may be an issue with the card itself or applications. But as the guy before me said, check with sandisk, they are able to give you the most accurate answer! the rest of us are only able to guess

[Q] Do SDXC cards work on the S3??

Hi All,
I'm wondering if 64gb SDXC cards work with the S3...there's a thread that I found on some other forum where people said it works, but I wanted to get the confirmation from XDA pro's...so any idea??
It will work, but beware that the FAT32 specifications do allow for partitions larger than 32Gb. You'll need either Linux or a 3rd-part formatting tool to format a FAT32 partition.
You can always use exFAT on the uSD card, however!
With ICS 4.0.4 we lost the ability to move apps to the SD card, which - for me, at least - was a huge turn off and made an external sd card lose 50% of its funcionality.
Mine is running just fine with a SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDXC 64GB. Installed it in the phone and formated it. No problems.
yes it is supported
They work but you may run into problems with exFAT. I had to reformat mine into FAT32 on an older phone as some music files just refused to show. More details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698672
Thanks a lot for the info guys..very much appreciate it
Mine also workedd , no problem.

MICROSDXC cards work. SDXC won't fit.

Take any micro SD and I'll give you my personal guarantee it'll work, but I used to work for a bank so I don't know how much my guarantee is worth anymore.

Max write speed to micro sd card

So, I've been reading everywhere here about sizes and different classes. What I'm most interested in is, how fast can the Galaxy S3 write to the sd card, better put the max write speed to the micro sd card? I want the fastest card available, but only if the phone will use it at max speed. Hope someone can give me an answer so I can order one tonight.
thanks for your help

so I guess there is no point in ordering something that is faster than a class 10, aww shucks :'(
I believe class 10 is the current fastest. I bought it since it was not too expensive at the time..

what does it benchmark outside the galaxy s3? Is it the same or higher?
SanDisk 64 GB Class 10
Can't help you there, sorry. I suppose it would not be vastly different though.
Sammy claim 24 read and 13 write. But file system overhead etc is perhaps not being accounted for. As it is though, records video fine and otherwise gives me no problems..

I tested on Sony vaio laptop that come with Ricoh PCIe memory slot, I got:
Write speed : 11.40 MB/s
Read speed : 22.77 MB/s
and based on previous result on s3 (W: 10.77 MB/s R: 17.92 MB/s) , the difference are:
Write speed difference : 0.63 MB/s
Read speed difference : 4.85 MB/s

Run that same "sd card tester" app on the internal memory. That should be representative of how fast it "can" be +/-
hope that helps,
-CC
EDIT: Example in post #10 of the test done on the internal memory, which in theory should be close to max capabilities; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29525785&postcount=10
EDIT2: I've attached my internal memory test (UBLF2 stock + root) and my Sandisk 64GB Class 10 / UHS 1 sd card tested in the SGS3 (stock format as it came out of the package)

Actually the speed differences won't be noticeable unless you are transferring a large file. Even then your phone will never have juice to run it at full speed

The SD card arrived in the mail the other day, I've had no issues I'll probably buy the 32gb version sometime down the road.
